  1. @Piethagoram It's their train, isn't it? I read that Wrexham has an agreement with an airline, but maybe it's worth exploring the private train option. In the past, it was Yeovil who frequently relied on public trains when they were in the Championship. However, I distinctly remember reading a story about two of their players being subjected to an attack.
  2. Pffttt.... Who reminded you?
  3. @super_pie and I, did go see @super_ram and we had a lovely conversation. My dad and me, not Jake. He barely spoke, the art of conversation or even paying attention seems to be lost in his mobile. It was nice though, Super was debating what to have to eat. He still hadn't decided by the time we left, so his evening is going to be action packed with thoughts of food. Bless him, he's spoilt for choice. It was my mum who was the one who was decisive.
  4. It's still very weird to see such articles about Notts, which largely praise and reflect well on the club. I still expect one of those circus style reports we had under the Trews and AH. This is a good article.
  5. The outcome remains unchanged: I failed to tune in to the game (not sure if BBC Radio Nottingham covered it), but I did loosely stay updated through the club's Twitter updates. I firmly believe we will show our quality when it matters and improve overall as a squad. Shrewsbury's fans have been paying a lot of respectful comments about our play. I think Luke Williams is a bit tougher due to his expectations and, simply wants to see a response from them when we go into the League Two season again, Sutton United.
  6. There is no doubt that Luke Williams is an ardent advocate for the well-being of his players. I firmly believe that there must be a sincere justification behind the so-called 'fatigue-related injuries.' He probably decided to protect them from unnecessary risks in this friendly match, taking into account their overall fitness, rather than any actual physical problems. He speaks clearly and in detail, which shows he sees things to the same degree as us fans. His management style and game knowledge will allow him to bring about the improvements we need. However, we must remember that this takes time. The National League offers a greater level of challenge compared to League Two, with more professional teams and stronger squads. However, if we consistently perform at our best and put in the necessary hard work, we will eventually establish a solid and successful routine.
  7. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @David Shipston. I hope you enjoy being a part of the Notts County community.
  8. I'm very pleased to read this, @Fan of Big Tone. Knowing that things are going well must be a huge relief. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I won't be having a walk with my brother, as he's out with his family. I'll pop to see @super_ram still.
  9. Yep, I want to improve my own form and give it a real go this season. Consider it to be a challenge @DangerousSausage @ARLukomski.
  10. Some may think that £800,000 is not a lot for someone who is seen as an upcoming and future international player. If Liverpool can get the best out of him, they may have made a great deal. Harvey Owen is a name I will be keeping an eye on.
  11. It may be premature to delve into this topic, yet the youngsters truly left a lasting impression on me. Those who participated in the Nuneaton friendly during the second half displayed remarkable stability. Cisse does look classy, he did well against Nuneaton, Stoke and Forest. I think he has a bright future, but I haven't seen enough of many of them. I will add, I want to support the B team and if anyone here plans to do the same, please let me know, and maybe we can catch up. It would be good to go support the younger lads etc.
  12. Good luck to him, I think it's a good decision. If he can get a few years experience and avoids moving around, unlike Sam Osborne he should be able to find himself back in the Football League. I love Ozzy, and its great clubs keep paying undisclosed fees for him, but how often he moves it hasn't benefitted him. Plus Buxton seems like a dead end to me. I sincerely hope that Jack Bearne manages to steer clear of this situation.
  13. I wished the shirts had arrived, so that Tiernan Brooks was able to feature in the team photo. He deserves to be in it, but it's understandable with him being out on loan. It's just one of those things with Puma. It's been awhile since we've had a proper team photo like this released around the time others do.
  14. I get your concern, but I am happy with this signing and I think Ollie Tipton will fill the gap where we need. Many people have mentioned they would take Jesse Debrah, who would be a big signing, but I think what we have is more than enough to improve on last season's stats. Part of the issue with the stat mentioned, it doesn't take into account the lack of defending in front of the goal. With our midfield strengthened, I think we should be a more possession based team which would help reduce the goals conceded. I don't think you're wrong, I'm not just overly concerned.
  15. My grandfather would do this with me and my brother, he would buy us ours and go without for himself. The only Notts-related shirt I recall him having was this polo shirt with the single magpie on. I have no plans, I am not going to Shrewsbury. I had wanted to go, but I have felt very tired the past few days, so I am listening to my body and resting today/Saturday. I do hope to have a short walk, as I need to continue with my weight loss and hopefully my brother will join me in paying @super_ram a visit. At the very least it would be me and @super_pie.
  16. He appears to be an excellent choice, displaying great composure and attentiveness when in possession of the ball, while also demonstrating awareness and effectiveness in his offensive contributions. @Piethagoram I think Luke Williams doesn't want to push Connell Rawlinson or Richard Brindley completely out of the frame for playing time. Jesse Debrah wouldn't want to be sitting on the bench. He might cost a bit more in wages than we could afford right now. We have done well to recruit and use what budget we have. I'm suggesting we've spent up, but sometimes managers like to keep some of the budget to one side just in case they need it later on. My thoughts might be completely wrong and, we simply wasn't interested or knew he would be going elsewhere. I personally don't think there's been any serious intention of us signing Debrah.
  17. I think it's something the FA should discuss with the Premier League and Football League, I wasn't aware clubs flew to games frequently. I know Newcastle did to Southampton, but I wasn't sure it was a regular thing. Could it be a means to reduce hotel costs? I know some teams often book in for a stay the night before they play a team. It's worth looking into as we all need to do our part in preserving the planet and preventing major climate changes.

  19. @Fan of Big Tone I was tempted to include another player, who isn't as well regarded as he perhaps should be. As it wasn't his fault we were relegated, the issue was with those around him.
  20. I don't know much about her background. I recall the media storm when I was much younger where they relentlessly pursued her for having a mental break-down. I know about some of her activism such as ripping up the picture of the pope etc. A lot of that work she did help others and raised awareness, so she was a very brave soul who crusaded for others above her own health. Unfortunately, some of the online news has already stated that it was suicide.
  21. I think both should be loaned out, but I wouldn't drop any lower than two leagues beneath us. They won't learn much by playing lower, they might as well stay and feature in the B team because that will have them in and around our own players. If we could get them out to teams nearby, maybe Boston I think it would provide a good learning experience. Yet they need to be regularly, I do agree with the one on one coaching and feedback. It's important we have a say in their time; when Tiernan Brooks went out on loan a few years back, I believe it was Mark Crossley who spent time highlighting his games which helped him immensely.
  22. I think we should see one or two players make the full game, other than I expect things to be the same otherwise. Shrewsbury will be a good test to see where we are, I am partly swaying towards a prediction of 2-2 or maybe 2-1 to Notts. It should be a good game. I hope our fellow Shrews supporters have a fantastic time watching Notts County. I think they will agree that we're a much better team than when we both last met. @shrewswill @friendlyshrew
  23. One of my favourites, Ben Davies!
  24. It was a beautiful clean strike, I also think Jim O'Brien knew it was destined for the back of the net just by his stance and appearance of remaining completely frozen.
  25. Speculation is that she took her own life, some time ago, her son did the same thing. I think it's awful. Rest in peace, Sinead O'Connor.
