  2. Exactly the result needed for Notts, it sounded like a good game - I didn’t listen as I was out but I noticed we led. Then some time after it was 1-1. Glad Notts win! It’s a great feeling.
  3. I feel the games winnable but I do have that feeling that Lincoln City came last Saturday thinking the same and we made them work. The key would be to control the game and remove any sort of pressure from the back, I think Ryan Schofield needs to start because he's actually improved things quite a lot for me. He's always speaking to the defenders and appears to have a mutal understanding with whoever plays in the CB positions. Jon Stead can't start on his own, Craig Mackail-Smith for me will be a live wire - getting him fired up could see him create chances or even score them. I agree, as I mentioned above it's important we go into the Forest Green Rovers game with a mindset of working hard. The away performances this season have lacked, especially considering the following and support given. Hopefully we'll see improves made here, yet for me I would be more confident if the game was played at Meadow Lane. That said, I do think we can win.
  4. I went to the game saying whenever asked about the score, it will either end 1-0 to Notts or 3-1 to them. My heart said we could win, my head was nervous and cautious due to the mistakes previously. This was a team performance and the standard we should have seen sooner. Man of the Match is hard due to this, however Craig Mackail-Smith worked tiredlessly and he's a lot like Jon Stead but a little more direct. Seriously seeing him chase dead balls made me feel proud, the team worked well. It was nice to the players expressing themselves, Lincoln never deserved the penalty - it was a dive for me and I'm pleased they snuffed. I do think Ryan Schofield would have saved it if it was on target, he did very well. In fact all the player did, Rob Milsom looked like a new player. I hope this is the start of the upturn.
  5. There's nothing wrong with David Vaughan if he's given the chance to settle and has harder working players around him, Michael Doyle should offer him that and I feel they would make a good partnership - along with Mitch Rose. The signings gives the club a lot more quality, but they don't change much. Most seem to fit the formation Neal Ardley has been working with, so I don't expect massive changes.
  6. I don't want to see Notts play defensive football, so being too deep would really be annoying - unless Ardley managed to get the players countering attacks. I still feel that inviting Lincoln City to play further up the field would be a huge mistake, and one that could cause our defence heaps of trouble. There's got to be a fine balance, as we could do well if 6-7 players gave their all as a team. If only a handful do their upmost, then Lincoln will thrive. Creatively I would like to see David Vaughan in the middle, alongside an engine but not Rob Milsom (please he's been woeful over the last x games). Hopefully we can see what Rose has to offer the club, he could do the job well. Enzio to the side, with someone else doubling up on the right. More importantly Jon Stead needs a partner, he needs someone who can feed him to ball and take off the pressure he naturally finds. Just got to work hard.
  7. Well done to the winners! Please message me in order to collect your prizes. Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the raffle, there's always the next one! If you like something, please do consider making the purchase because it helps the site so much. I hope to do the next one for 20 people only, I will review this one and try to improve it.
  8. I wonder how tense other fans feel? Today's a must perform and a must win game, a draw would be okay but failing to get 3 points would be massively disappointing. The players need to fight more and show more determination, it's okay for the club and certain players to ask us fans not to write them off - yet where's the sign that they will return the backing? Most fans I know would always give their support. Today could open a door or slam one in our faces, I feel for those attending and I hope they can generate a fantastic atmosphere. I am sure they will remind the club that we won't go down without a fight, even if the players are too soft to respond or play with pride. Now is the time to step forward, as I do honestly believe that playing well against Yeovil could see us grab the first away win since Macclesfield. I won't be listening to the game, I feel sick. The fear of relegation is starting to creep in but I'll be sending positive vibes through my friends.
  9. I actually feel like Notts can get something from this game, Yeovil are a real Jekyll and Hyde team at home. The big question is can Notts put together a convincing performance good enough to make them struggle? I think it's possible, if we can get two goals early on in the first half - I do think the game will favour us. However, most likely the game will be decided in the second half. I just hope we can keep Jon Stead fired and up for causing some trouble, as for me he's the player most likely to score. COYP!
  10. Pride of Nottingham's latest Faces of PON saw photos taken of the Notts County supporters at Meadow Lane for the Magpies against Colchester United - feel free to share your picture if snapped on social media! Please do like and retweet the gallery status on Twitter, so that fans can see our pictures.
  11. I really don't know what to expect. I think Cambridge are sort of in a transition at the moment, they're quite a decent team but it's about how Notts plays. On our day we can cause any side trouble and I think Cambridge are the type of side we should be okay against, just need to ensure we don't allow them easy access to having a shot on goal.
  12. Only 26 participants required to complete the raffle. We have until the 31st of January in order to complete this, let's all do our part and help fund the site. ???????? Thank you for the support.
  13. I still feel quite disappointed because imagine how much of a boost the three points would have been, there's no justification for giving a 2 goal lead away and Colchester by their own admission wasn't very good. I've spoken to fans who have said how both teams looked quite poor. Colchester's have praised how we attacked but have been very critical of our defence, however some of our own fans feel it's perfectly fine in a relegation battle to throw a game away. I mean I would take the point and would have done at the start, it's just the way in which Notts did draw. It's disappointing, once Colchester knocked it back to just a one goal lead for us, we should have done a lot more to protect the back.
  14. 3-2 Scoring before half time can be a massive boost, Notts needs to show more grit and defensive awareness. I hope they can respond in the second half well.
  15. COOOOMMMMMEEEE ONNNNNN NOOOOOTTTTTSSSS!!! Let's get a third and settle this at the back. Great response by the player after conceding.
  16. Today's line-up. Surely I can't be the only fan disappointed to see Richard Duffy once again named within the squad? I would replace him any day of the week for Jamie Turley. Turley is a way better defender who is a lot more responsible and direct with his defending. Duffy is a disaster and I feel to see how he can strengthen the defence. Hopefully all the players can do well, would rather see Rob Milsom sit a game out too but hey, I'm not Neal Ardley. COYP!
  17. Please do help promote this, also if you can why not get your own ticket? We need to sell more. #COYP
  18. If we stick with this 3 centre backs, the right and left wing back needs to be wider when defending but narrow when attacking. They should overlap the wingers, yet just on the outside. I would be tempted to draw the play from the centre of the park to allow the wingers more time. I don't think Neal Ardley understands that not all the players can adapt this quickly, I also feel he must make some changes. Get people fighting to play.
  19. Speechless... ????????‍♂️ Another red card? It's not good but Neal Ardley must get better from this squad away from home. I'm not surprised, Oldham are much better than what some thought. I will be interested to see and read people's reactions.
  20. If changes can be avoided I would, hopefully Kane Hemming and Jamie Turley will be available for selection (both I'm told are injured). Notts needs to put in a good away performance, at the very least battle.
  21. Productive display, Notts by far was the better team. I'm not saying this to be negative either, I felt Notts did well but it wasn't brilliant. Steady for where we have been but I just wanted to see Notts be a little more clinical. I know Bury was in form but we had them on the ropes and just failed to finish them off. It's a massive point and boost, I am happy but I am not sure there's much validation to the best performance this season. I respect the opinion but for me Notts played 6.5/10, which is better than can be expected. David Vaughan, Andy Kellett, Jon Stead and Pearce Bird did brilliantly.
  22. I fail to see how the side can win this game, yet knowing Notts they'll perform better against a team doing much better than Macclesfield so who knows? Before I felt a draw would be likely but if Bury come to Meadow Lane wanting to win and impress their travelling fans, well I fear another loss. I feel Notts will only look more disconnected and this could be a real issue with the defence.
  23. I felt very disappointed today, almost to the verge that I felt there was no hope. I came home and spent time with my family trying my hardest to forget about the result, it's difficult because I do care a lot about Notts County. I still can't put into words how I feel or what can be done to resolve this issue, this will be a real nightmare for Neal Ardley. The performance was off from the start, I don't see how anyone could say we played well for the first 10 minutes. Macclesfield looked good and well drilled, from the moment the game began they appeared like a side which had a point to prove and this made it hard for Notts to get a feel for the game. Their first goal was always going in, nothing Ross Fitzsimons could have done and I felt sorry for him. Why is nobody attempting to throw themselves in the line of the ball? It's all the basic things this Notts squad is struggling with. I felt Macclesfield should have left having won us easily, yet pulling level allowed us to give them a game and after that goal we didn't do anything to go 2-1 up. We just stopped and conceded. The most disappointing thing for me is how I feel Macclesfield seemed happy to take the three points by leading 1-0, even after we scored it looked like they was happy with a draw. Reckless play gave the game away, it's so frustrating because it should have made the players respond. Confidence and a lot of other things are killing us off.
  24. Massive game and something Neal Ardley should carefully approach. It's important the balance between defending and attacking is met, however until Enzio returns I fear Notts don't have enough pace on the wings and this is something which would be useful. Macclesfield would thrive on Notts attacking via the centre of the park, so injecting speed and players able to be direct could work. It might be worth giving Andy Kellett a go. I don't know, I just feel it could be one of those games where the same squad doesn't quite manage to get the right result. The games a must win match, so despite me saying in the PONcast that I would rest Jon Stead - perhaps he should start? Kristian Dennis and Kane Hemmings could do the trick but I'm just thinking neither really hold the play up or link in others, Stead is a true grafter of this.
