  1. I think the game should be quite open, both teams will want to pass and it might start slow. I do think it will be entertaining or at least I hope, it's going to be a tough one, but hopefully we can make the most of it. The form is important at this stage, so if we concede the players must pull together to get on with it.

  3. I have extended this twice due to being unwell, I can't extend it anymore folks. PON needs to sell 10 more entry places, so if you fancy helping step forward. These are some fantastic prizes and I would hope we can do this! ????
  4. @TM1993 the apps now been updated, can you please check.
  5. I'm nervous, I always am away from home but a result today is important. A friend's taken me out, so I won't be able to keep updated as much as I would like but I'm sure Google will remind me. 2-0 away win got me. Hemmings and Tootle.
  6. @Super_Danny_Allsopp The issue is that the squad has too many under-performers, I wouldn't really the class the loans as his own players either - I am sure they are trying, but I suspect if we had the money he would have signed more free agents instead of relying so heavily on loan options. He's already admitted prior to making those signings that he has struggled to motivate the players, the ones here before his appointment have let the fan base and club down massively. If I was Neal Ardley, I would really shake things up and look to re-try the 3 CB's, with two quick wing backs. Notts are too defensive at the minute and this is largely down to the large squad that was signed before him. None of which are really defensive minded which is why he signed Michael Doyle, Jim O'Brien etc.
  7. Neal Ardley needs his own players, yet his tactics are quite frustrating and that’s the disappointing thing about yesterday. At half time I said we needed two strikers, for even sake they went down to 10 men and Notts still sat back. The passing was better, yet Kane Hemmings being isolated was negative. Another noticeable fact is that there was little to no pace upfront. I repeatedly said that Notts could have done with Virgil Gomis. It’s quite a controversial call but the lad does have skill and pace. Taking off Craig Mackail-Smith was stupid, he was the only player who looked capible of shooting. Rob Milsom frustrates me furiously, so wasteful and his passing/decision making is absolutely pointless. People telling me he’s a good defender, yeah he tries but his positional play is a joke. Defensively, Notts looked okay. Richard Duffy did well for the most part. He was caught out of position, Sam Stubbs follows the lead too much - he needs to make his own decisions. Ryan Schofield was lost, yet not blameless for the goal. They all simply switched off, yet no doubt Notts was the better side. I guess that’s one small positive, but it bloody well hurt when Exeter City scored.
  8. I haven't done my homework, so I won't be able to say what I think of the opposition. They are most likely going to try and play a higher tempo than us, it's important we are calm and careful in midfield. I'm hoping for a narrow 1-0 but we shall see.
  9. Today was far from the worst performance, yet for me fault falls on Neal Ardley for the lack of sight and management. Kane Hemmings did okay, he was isolated and unsupported for the majority of the game. Usually people would be crying out about how 'lazy' or 'idle' he is but this is far from the case. The issue wasn't so much the players either, it was the tactics. Morecambe didn't play brilliantly, they were a lot like Notts. The issue for me is Notts should have gone for the win, someone should have stayed closer to Kane Hemmings to give him proper support. I wouldn't care who, Enzio Boldewin, Lewis Alessandra or even Virgil Gomis. Today we just need two people up top and I honestly feel things would have happened, we had chances, but due to the tactics and instructions it was very empty. Ardley should have fired the players up and pushed for the win, Notts looked defensively fine and just needed to balance that gamble. A draw does feel like a fair result, it's just the lack of foresight really.
  10. Morecambe always tend to give Notts a fight on Meadow Lane, Neal Ardley needs to get a similar performance as to the Carlisle game. If the players work hard, they should be able to play them off the park. Control the midfield, defends well and focus. I'm hoping for a win, though we shall see. David Vaughan should remain in the team, I think his passing could be useful. I still think three CB's would work best with the squad that we have, now normally I would be against but we have 2 good wing backs, 3 players capable of doing well in sub and 3 excellent hard working CM's. Craig Mackail-Smith and Kane Hemmings further up, Enzio Boldewijn and Jon Stead to come on once they tire.

  12. Fantastic result. I've been busy today, so I forgot all about the game. I went onto Facebook Messenger and @Magic magpie told me the score was 2-0. I couldn't believe it but before we get carried away. The focus must be on preparing for the weekends fixture, Notts are all over the place and some grounded perspective wouldn't go amiss right now. Battle, fight and COYP.
  13. Hang in there Notts! It might have made sense to throw Fitzsimons in to handle the pressure and what not, I think people should accept the odd mistake - especially in games like this. I'm more in shock that Notts are winning! COYP!!
  14. Carlisle has a very good midfield, if they control the game - Notts will struggle. Defensively, I think both teams have a concern, ourselves more than them and I really can't see anything coming from the game. It's going to be difficult with recent performance to see enough from all of the players to compete against Carlisle who have no issues creating chances. At times they might get the odd surprise result, but commonly in the games they control they do much better in. I think they'll find Tuesday fairly straight forward.

  16. 10 games remaining, all of which are make or break. With it getting to the crunch time, it's important more than ever to get three points. I'm not confident despite many fans telling me that they're optimistic about Notts gets a win. I can see it easily ending as a draw unless work has been done with regards to us sitting back too deep. I seriously would convert the system back to 3 CB's and then have wing backs. Try to get the ball forward more and tighten up in the centre.
  17. The fault today is the in-game tactics and midfield. If there was more effort and smarter play from the midfield, Notts would have controlled the game. Port Vale looked useless in midfield, however they took control and looked better as a result of that. If Notts kept the ball down, passes it around and made good runs - it would have completely been a different game. There was little to no service for the strikers. Jon Stead should have been the first off, we needed pace and although Virgil Gomis was very poor. He did force the play, issue again was the fact that too many players played below average. Ryan Schpfield did well, most of his kicking was fine. Very few times did anyone other than CMS or Stead try to get it down.

  19. Former Notts County defender Thierry Audel has completed his UEFA B License in football coaching. The French born player currently plays for Welling United in the National League South whilst under tutorship of Chris Fairclough, who played for Notts County during the 1998/99 season. He continues to work towards further establishing his new business venture Audelsports. It started in Leicester and has progressed and now extended to Nottingham. He told PON exclusively; "I have been my own client during all those years of Football and I also had the chance to learn from high standard professionals. “I decided that it was time to share, but with my own philosophy.” Thierry also said, "I have big plans for Audelsports. It is growing very fast. I dedicate time to my Personal Training activity in Nottingham and Leicester and will keep extending to try and satisfy all the needs. “Fitness is very important for many reasons. Self-confidence, Stress, Mood, Weight, Energy but MOST importantly... Your Health. Notts County has been very available in sorting me out a classroom to help me complete my UEFA B License Presentation." When asked about the current season for the magpies, he replied “I keep checking Notts County Fc results wishing them the very best. “I always had a great relationship with the club. As I am training people in Beeston, Nottingham from time to time. I like to stop by to say Hi. Actually, I brought my son to the home game against Cambridge United a few weeks ago.” Notts County currently sits rock bottom of the League Two table, 5 points adrift from safety and 2 points behind Macclesfield Town. 20. The Newport game was a tactical error on Neal Ardley's part and a blip. I can see what he tempted to do and hopefully the fresher legs can help, however he's seen what happens when CMS doesn't start and if he has to rest him or Jon Stead - he needs to ensure one starts. I feel the game will be a draw, probably 2-2. It really wouldn't surprise me if Notts led 2-0 and conceded two goals in the second half.
  21. I think Neal Ardley's made sensible 'team' signings, Jorge Grant would have been another luxury. I feel he's worth a few points just due to his sheer quality but I would question how he could fit into the squad we have now - without looking like he did for Mansfield this past Saturday. He looked empty and unable to change the game, I rate him but I feel he's best suited elsewhere. Mansfield should be a good fit if they manage to get more time for him on the ball, I'm personally happy with the January signings we got.
  22. Newport County will play a lot like Mansfield Town, dirty and trying anything to slow the game down. They'll want to dictate the tempo and if we allow them to get a foot hold of the game, I think it will be more open. However I am confident that with the up lift in form, Notts can get back-to-back wins. Amazing turn around, yet I would be more than happy with a draw. A win just means so much more!
  23. Pride of Nottingham was at Meadow Lane to see Notts County put in their best performance of the season in a 1-0 win over Mansfield Town - see if you've made it in this week's Faces of PON! Please help share the gallery if you featured or know someone who has been. You Pies!!
  24. I felt Notts played very well, not just for one half or 75 minutes but the whole game. Defensively, I never felt like Mansfield would score largely down to how tight and restricted our defence and midfield made them play, their game changes couldn't do anything and Jorge Grant looked like he did towards the end of last season for us. I felt the strike by Craig Mackail-Smith was a fantastic strike, I knew it was going in the moment the ball bounced straight in front of him. It's a good technical shot, well struck and well placed. Seriously the teams passion is spot on and Michael Doyle seems to be a ball buster, I'm not suggesting this is a bad thing but there's times he should just try to be happy for others. What a difference he and Jim O'Brien have made.
  25. I'm far from confident, I fear that it could lead to a small blip but I would happily take a draw. We won't win every game, so we have to be realistic and our record against Mansfield is shocking. Yes time has to change and if the players did do this, well it would be smashing but I certainly don't expect it.
