  1. Good blog, I think his list and mine probably won't have any of the players on Notts radar. Except those from rumours, I think Jesse Debrah might be a player that Notts will be interested in. A few Notts fans have mentioned that he would make their list, I didn't include him in mine because I thought it was quite likely to be true that he would be attracting interest from Notts. But going back to the blog, the cheeky status about it not featuring David McGoldrick shows a good sense of humour. Remove the rumours, there's a few players that could very well be making a move this season.
  2. There was a teen that did this also; his mates filmed it and were hanging near the reception after the game acting like it was the biggest thing. Staff members also have to stay behind to write reports, so yes, there's £10,000 fine, but it costs the club in many other ways. During a game, there's zero need to enter the pitch side or attempt to run on to the pitch itself. I made a comment about locking the lad up and, this fan said to me, "he's just a kid, what will that teach him?" Perhaps harsh words, but that was more due to the fact he looked like he was going to attempt to fight a friend of mine. A ban for a season or a few, isn't going to stop them. It's childish and all about bragging rights for attention. It's supposed to be cool and trending, they look like muppets.
  3. This past season is undeniably his best in a Notts County shirt. In previous seasons he did well, but there were spells where his inconsistency became very apparent. What amazes me is the last time his deal was up, there was a fair amount who appeared to have ripped a plaster off their skin and resorted to saying he's overrated. Whilst, I have been critical of him at times and, I do think he can be overrated. Any given player can at times, I could name several who played for Notts in recent years and have left - but I will keep on point. When he's good, he's extremely entertaining and that comes with a player who performs at our level. I accept it, he won't always be a world beater, but even on those quieter days, just one touch can change the outcome of the game positively. Whilst I hope he stays, we can find players in this position who can contribute similarly. PS. Michael Doyle, Richard Duffy, Ross Fitzsimons, Joe McDonnell, Dion Kelly-Evans.. All very much overrated, but that's their fan connection!
  4. It's quite funny, he turned up at Meadow Lane in the playoff game in his own car, didn't acknowledge his teammates after the match. He spent more time talking to Notts players and staff in the offices, I wouldn't take him back, and I hope that's not his hopes. I have nothing against DKE, I thought he did well for us, but there are better players out there. I know many fans have this whole appreciation for him, but if he doesn't play, he wants out. He doesn't fight for his place and that says a lot more to me.
  5. He's a great guy; his move to Scotland was a dream chance for him, and although I felt he would be back in the lower half of English football. I never once thought he shouldn't take the plunge, nor did I resent him for leaving. I always wished him well, and I do at Tranmere Rovers.
  6. We should start to see which rumours are true and which aren't soon enough, although even then unless we are named dropped we might not know for sure. I think this has the potential to be true as a player we are monitoring, he seems the type Notts would go for. I feel a growing excitement about the prospect of elevating our club to new heights in League Two and competing at the highest level. I know it's early, but I had a similar feeling last season.
  7. I didn't rate him either, but sometimes we have to take into consideration how good Notts were when we played them. I think he should do alright with them, I can easily see him adapting and possibly making a move overseas in the future. Polish players tend to be snapped up as affordable buys by teams in europe.
  8. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @MagpieLane. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  9. Hello, @Stuart jackson. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, it's good to be welcoming you to our Notts County community, I hope you enjoy being a part of it.
  10. The signing of Jodi Jones was a pleasant surprise for me. Despite not being fully familiar with his injury history, I had a strong feeling that he would bring tremendous value to the team. Whilst Wrexham fans became excited about signing ex-Palmer League keeper, Ben Foster, at the age of 40? It was a good signing, but in comparison Jodi gave us an edge we needed to go forward. I think it was a very smart decision to bring him in and, whilst I initially felt like we needed to make it known to him that we would like to retain him. It wasn't until he kindly signed my prints, that I realised just how much he liked being at Meadow Lane. It's good to see players with a smile on their faces, even when struggling because it's a sign of confidence and also that they're still in the game and haven't given up. Against Boreham Wood, the moment he came on he had that smile and tried to influence the play. Likewise, in the playoff final against Chesterfield. He seemed a bit cautious when he stepped up for the penalty, but his reaction after and in the celebrations was great. Going back to the opening day of the 2017 season, I made the trip to Coventry and sat watching him rip us apart. As he did in the playoffs against Coventry. He's not a super sub, although he does well. He's a promotion hero if anything!
  11. Compo doesn't quite fit, more like 'Eli'.
  12. I came across this the other day myself, I casually watched his channel as I like his FIFA and Football Manager series. He pops up with a great video like this and, I know people often say American's don't know anything about football, yet he's very knowledgable. Very much addicted to gaming mind. I hadn't heard of this club before. It's a great story, yet it's silly how they had to repeat the same league twice despite winning it. Surely it would've made more sense to promote them? Well, it doesn't bother them now. It will be interesting to see how they adapt to life with the big boys. I might show more interest in these than any other foreign team. I do keep tabs on Juventus but not so much these days.
  13. Enda Stevens always reminded me of an inexperienced Alan Sheehan, with a lot of potential to go further in his career. When he signed for Sheffield United, I thought it wouldn't really suit him, but he did well for them. I remember seeing a couple of their games whilst in the Premier League and in those two games, Stevens seemed to be one of the standard players. Decent in defence and a lot of energy going forward. Now, I am surprised those rumour mill sites haven't found a 'source' that has confirmed this in no particular way other than to say he's in talks. Which, naturally, everyone should believe because it's on the internet and in writing. PS. If such a site ever writes 'sauce' instead of 'source', just know their lies will ketchup with'em.
  14. I'm sorry that I missed this @AmericanPie. I try to go back to topics, but I have to admit I have been busy, though I don't like knowing a member or fan is struggling. I am pleased with the PON's version of the 'Likely Lads' coming to your aid. I'm not sure which one of them is Bob or which is Terry. This will keep me thinking, now that I've thought of it. I think Super might be Terry, actually. Ignore my silliness, I just want to add some light humour. I think you need to rest and maybe give your brother that call, nothing is worth leaving to the last minute. When things like this crop up, it's usually a good time to reach out and put differences aside. Holding onto hurt or grudges leads to more unhappiness. Sometimes rekindling a relationship can make the biggest difference. By all means, drop me a PM. I would love to chat with you more. I always tell people I am a good listener, but my advice isn't always the best. Though @Megan_Elizax and @ARLukomski may vouch for me. To be honest, I would welcome the chat myself as since my holiday things have been a little different. I'll send you one! ♥
  15. I'm pleased for Colby Bishop, he was thrown into the deep end and without much preparation. He always looked like a promising player, but needed more time. Whilst I am glad he got game time, I think if a youth player is thrown into the first team at the wrong point it can make things all that more difficult. Successful clubs at home tend to blend new players with experienced ones. Teams like Crewe are known for rewarding young players who perform well. I wished we could find game time for more of our youngsters, it's challenging but until we give them the experience, we will never know. We have a good base to bring in players this season, in positions which might not hinder us too much, as a means to give them game time. One area is the wing, as we have strong candidates both sides and, I think a player like Jodi Jones could hold his own with some inexperience on the other flank. Lartey Sarpong, I think, struggled to believe in himself because he is a talented player. Jordan Richard is a nice lad. I sent him a print of his dad after his release. I thought he would do well at Boston United I think it was, he went after us. I should clarify with Wiki, but I'll trust my memory. I know I sometimes muddle him up with the player who has the same name, that played for Hartlepool. I do think even at 26-years-old, Jordan could make it to the Football League.
  16. I think after @TheSkipper added his, there has been a mini surge in members adding their own. It reminds me I must remake my dad, as with the upgrade process and server moves over the years - it seems to have gone missing. I might have it backed up on my desktop or, I could make @super_ram a new one. @CliftonMagpie asked me to make his bar signature. I have been thinking about making more of those types. with the Notts badges on in different designs, along with shirt patterns. I think it would look trending. I actually had to check if I had a signature, I know I did once upon a time, but it seems I have removed it. I might have a think about re-adding one. It's a useful way to show members a bit of personality or just a useful message. Some of the meaning behind existing ones is really nice to hear about.
  17. I would try to thank them for all that they've done for the club and, encourage them to continue exactly the way they have been without diverting the plan. If at the time Notts wasn't in a rosy sort of picture, I would anchor my advice towards suggesting ways to get the fans on board. When we all believe, things happen, and we have that powerful 12th man type of connection to the club. Yet, I think it would mostly be encouragement to continue the success and, to simply thank them for everything so far. They've avoided the pitfalls of social media, they put the club first before everything and that's admirable.
  18. Hello, @Sirrels County. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.

  20. Ricardo Moniz European Tour continues! It's intriguing to ponder the reason why he hasn't made a comeback to English football. As he was valued highly by Spurs, he possesses the capability to excel as a Championship team manager. @Piethagoram, if you ever make contact with him again would you please ask him if he applies for most of the jobs he lands or if the clubs approach him - along with why he hasn't tried English football since leaving us? Ignore if he answered these in your last interview, I genuinely don't remember. Someone needs to update his wiki page - https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricardo_Moniz
  21. Their ground looks like a park, the whole story sounds suspicious to me.
  22. I have never had coffee, I don't like tea either. Yet I can make good coffee, both expresso and instant, the key is how you allow the coffee to react to the heat. When I worked at Harts Resturant and Hotel, I used to have to make coffee quite often, and you soon pick up the habit. I've always been good at times like this; for example I can make pancake mix without measuring it. The key to that is in the mixture and colour; once you know what to look for the consistency will always be there - likewise for Yorkshire puddings. I'm doing my best effort at derailing this conversation, as a means to distract from the fact I don't drink coffee. It's just horrible mud water, I used to say when I was little. Since being told I have been in danger of developing diabetes, I have started to drink more water. Before that, I would drink fruit juices, mostly orange or pineapple mixed with lemonade. I'm a real kid at heart. Please don't comment in regard to this latter bit. My sugar levels have lowered, and I'm told I am in admission, so provided I continue and lose more weight I will be fine (which I am).
  23. A youth player I used to pick up on Football Manager, I still have a saved game file where I have him in my QPR squad alongside John Bostock and Jack Grealish.
  24. This is sad news, I have a soft spot for them and several other Scottish clubs. I have high hopes that they will overcome the challenges in the Scottish leagues, which have a reputation for being brutal on teams. Nevertheless, this region boasts a rich history and has given rise to many talented young players who have developed within the club over the years. @liampie you make it sound like you don't believe me.
  25. I don't believe I have met her and, the name doesn't ring any bells but nonetheless it is very sad. Rest in Peace, Chloe Gibson.
