  1. I'll be at Notts tomorrow, which will be the first game since I had the break with my family. I am looking forward to the game, I always tend to enjoy when we play against Bradford City as they are usually quite decent. Sunday, I have no plans. I will probably be tired.
  2. I would hate to live in Russia, but whilst I respect those who are standing up and trying to spread awareness. I still think it's something that you need to be mindful about, and perhaps doing this in supermarkets could have been better thought out. The sentence is a joke, but again it's Russia.
  3. @Fan of Big Tone Paul Bolland is another player we plucked from Bradford City after he did well against us.
  4. Two things.... What was the keeper jumping about like that? Is he in fact a wet fish? That's some iffy keeping, yes, the angle of the footage might not do him any justice, but it is rather weird how he jumps and positions himself. Sliced kicks are very common; it looks like the ball might be slightly wet - I don't know if it had been raining, but that could make it difficult to make instant content. A more experienced player may have just tried to bring the ball down and shield it. My second point, the keeper in my eyes should also be sent off or at least give a yellow card. The lunge he made was wreckless and uncalled-for, his boots could have seriously injured the attacking player. It was also two footed, made without control and well beyond the ball having crossed the line.
  5. Soon, she'll have white hair, resembling the manager of the England ladies, or perhaps even worse... Bald from the stress of the game. I really hope this proves to be a decision on merit, rather than a gimmick for the media headlines. Either way, I genuinely wish her well and hope it shows that the sport is restricted by sex, gender or religious beliefs but the ability to do the job.
  6. Oh wow, to concede a goal like that and then lose by so many goals. I wonder how their fans reacted to that?
  7. He's young and somewhat unlikely to be in our reach of signings, but you never know. Our owners seem to be decent at making the doubtful happen. I think we need to access more games from him, as its still quite early days and although he had made some mistakes - it shouldn't be used against him as he's learning. At the same time, you can't suggest that anaysis from a handful of games is strong enough to make the argument that he needs to be signed. Players have good and bad spells, this is great for discussion but clubs take far more into consideration.
  8. Imagine if everywhere did one kind act towards someone else, like one person got to travel using the London Underground for free. Then that extends to a coffee shop giving someone an act of kindness, it's not about giving but making the point that commercialism can be forgotten.
  9. Everyone starts somewhere but this seems a good appointment for Michael Skubala, so I think it's a good thing for Lincoln City. Hopefully, he can hit the ground running.
  10. It's not a good light for us Notts fans, but I can understand the frustration, and it is very common for objects to be thrown. I think the way that it's being portrayed is almost like a player diving from minor contact, I don't mean to play down the assistant referee for having objects thrown at him. I do think it is more down to him being cowardly in the face of having played on, only to flag late for the penalty after Crewe players pressured him. However, we need to move forward from this because we are far better than this.
  11. Blackpool 1-0 Shrewsbury Town Stevenage 0-2 Lincoln City Gillingham 1-1 Salford City Harrogate Town 1-2 Swindon Town Sutton United 0-1 Tranmere Rovers Dorking Wanderers 1-3 Boreham Wood Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Oxford City Rochdale 2-0 Aldershot Joker
  12. I would be cautious in regard to their current form and off the field issues, a win against us is just the thing together some morale and team spirit. We need to work hard to make sure we are tidy at the back, but able to create good chances when attacking. I don't think Bradford City will be all that bothered about our passing game, they will probably allow us to have the time but choose to work hard to close down the ball within their half. Notts enjoys most of the ball within our own half, so I think the key thing for us would be to work on opening up the game. If we can start the game well, push on to open the score and control the game positively going into half-time. Then it should be easier within the second half to maintain those standards, even with potential changes coming onto the field. I would hope Luke Williams will spot when the moments turn, so that he could give instructions on how we can maintain possession and execute a well-thought-out match plan. Ideally, Aaron Nemane and ideally Adam Chicksen will be at their very best. I suspect Chicksen will get the nod to start, but we may see Will Randall or even someone else. My choice would be Adam Chicksen, he's largely unused and has a great cross on him.
  13. I've been involved with fan meetings at the club a number of years ago, where this was a frequent point raised by portions of those who were attending, and it always came down to the cost. Two fans of which would always speak about how it would pay for itself eventually. I even suggested that the club could seek help from fans who are builders, who could work with trained volunteers to reduce the costs. The difference is, we now have smarter owners who understand the benefits and Reedtz having watched games within Europe, will know that it can work, and the expense will pay off with a superb fan experience for those who choose to stand during games. I'm hopeful the club will introduce safe standing because it has many benefits.
  14. Luke wasn't going anywhere, he's committed to Notts and he repeatedly shows this. The title should be 'Luke isn't going anywhere, he's ours'. I can understand the concern from fans, but really, we need to make sure we don't ever give certain misleading places the time of day. I am still seeing fans commenting angrily on pages on Facebook that spread false information. This is exactly what they want; it's a circle of never-ending giving, even if you think it makes them look bad to people outside the loop - it simply doesn't For them spreading false information, click-baiting is merely a shortcut instead of doing hard work. I'm very much against all this nonsense. I may seem old-fashioned and hung with high principles, but I believe in reputations.
  15. Haha.... His remarks regarding Ian Burchnall - Good riddance, son. I'll see you later. It wasn't that long ago when Oxford fans were complaining about their start and even Ruben Rodrigues. However, Charlie is making a lot of sense. I can't see Oxford thriving or even getting to the Championship myself. Yet we need to keep adding a few, allowing a couple to go and always have this core squad that is the strength behind our success. I think it will be hard for us to get to the Championship, so it wouldn't be as simple as that but I do feel Notts are a more progressive football club now.
  16. Undecided if I will go, I can get the same benefits from watching the stream. If JJ or Mark were interested then maybe, but not knowing who's able to make it - that alone makes it hard for me to decide. It should be a great night though.
  17. Tough game really, they're in slightly better form currently, and @super_ram knows that they can be a tricky team with the Rams finding this out in the first round of the FA Cup. I can see it being quite stale, similar to the Lincoln City game previously. It might be a fair bit more entertaining, but I do think it could end goalless or even narrow such as 1-1. If they play well on the day I can certainly see this being the case. They have a good team, capable of attacking and are decent at the back. I think we are blessed with structure and quality, by they persist in a way that you can't deny they have a different type of quality throughout their XI. My concern is the defence, if we don't stand up to them or remain focused - they'll probably have the easier time.
  18. Allow Craig Short the time to see if he can continue and if good results come, then perhaps they should allow him to find an assistant. He knows their current setup, which nobody else does and a new manager often changes things which takes time to settle. I don't fear Luke Williams will be interested, I think the appointment they make might be underwhelming unless they stick with Short.
  19. Neil Cox, our former assistant, can be added to this list.
  20. Coventry City 2-1 Stoke City Southampton 1-1 West Bromwich Albion Derby County 0-2 Barnsley Joker Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 Stevenage AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Doncaster Rovers Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Forest Green Rovers AFC Fylde 0-1 York City Altrincham 1-0 Southend United
  21. It will take a considerable amount of temptation for Luke Williams to leave Notts, I don't think Oxford United have that about themselves. It's like when fans feared losing Macaulay Langstaff, it's going to take something special to attract his interest. The minimum, I would say, is a secure Championship team that isn't in a relegation battle or likely to be sucked into one. Compensation may also take a different path. At what stage do we try to sign Luke Williams down for longer?
  22. Was Sam Austin not aware of the Lincoln City player speeding towards him? Surely, he did see it. One of my pet hates of football is when players don't move to intercept the ball, yet act like the ball has to fall to their feet and this isn't always the case. It's quite a sloppy goal to concede. You would have thought someone would go to support Kyle Cameron who made the correct call to cover. Aidan Stone perhaps could have done better, what with the angle, but these are a common occurrence we see with the way Notts plays it out from the back. I am left speechless by their second goal. Ollie Tipton gave away the ball very poorly, but what is more disappointing is that we have only 2 other players in a defensive position. Credit to Tipton for tracking his man, even if him and Cameron do look a little clueless on how to defend this situation but whoever the 2nd defender, that casually strolled and then took to walking needs to be pushed to get back into position quicker. We display a sense of urgency in our attacks, but our defence is far too relaxed for my taste. Yes, they were probably instructed to reserve energy and the competition is one I am personally not bothered in. Yet, I still want to see commitment in defending.
  23. I've never been that bothered about it, but several years ago - @cheeky~k8 came across a pack whilst we were at a family day out. I can't remember if we had been to a zoo or if it was one of the fun parks we tended to visit. However, she was delighted to come across it as it was hard to find. Since then, it's been a lot easier to locate with Tesco and other supermarkets/stores stocking it. At times, I would pick her a pack up when attending Notts games as a treat, I just told her, and she doesn't seem that bothered, but I know she really likes it. If the single bars weren't so expensive, they would sell much better, but that's the way everything is right now in the UK. 90p for a basic yogurt for example, it's crazy.
  24. £10 isn't a bad price for a game, so I doubt anyone avoided it due to the cost but more as they could spend the day doing something a bit more viable. @Callumpie Haha!! You know you enjoyed not seeing 5 goals being scored, in the blistering cold and non-stop rain.
  25. Considering we played them in the pre-season, it will be a good test to see how we have improved with more completive football and the newcomers having settled in properly. I'm very pleased with the draw.
