  1. Poor Colin, it's just bad timing, but it's a great write-up. I am confident that they are capable of bringing further wins, so Colin Sisson can round those up. If after that, we lose. We know it's a Left Lion and Colin Sisson curse!
  2. Jimmy Spencer had the potential to be a good League One or Two striker. I do think his time here, he had too much unrealistic pressure put on his shoulders, but he was a good finisher. I had completely forgotten about him. it's good that he's playing at a decent level. I know he had further injury issues after us, so considering he's still playing it's a good thing.
  3. There was no end missing when I used to walk around Wollaton with my brother and @super_pie. I also encountered areas where manholes had been smashed in or had crumbled away. Actually, I walked from Highfields to Wollaton with Jake. Along the way, we encountered some individuals vandalising the land to access cables. Many people walked by without saying anything, but I was the only one who had the courage to confront them and ask them to leave. The council put up two cones around it, with orange tape and a different time a blind person almost walked into it because someone had removed the tape. The covers are dangerous though, especially in certain areas where weird people try to throw their rubbish into them. Not only is there danger of walking into them and falling, but also the damage it can do to cars and the local infrastructure.
  4. Hello, @Middlesex Magpie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  5. Woop, woop... Look out @Fan of Big Tone.
  6. Luke Williams is everything you would want from a manager. His openness in interviews is great to watch or listen to too. The details in which he calmly replies make it difficult to think that he may have b**locked the players after the Forest Green Rovers game. You just can't see him being that annoyed. He's what I refer to as the 'Bob Ross' of football. If only he had the hair, I could fully imagine him calmly instructing the players articulately how he wants our tactics to be played out. Whilst calmly saying 'there's no bad accidents, just happy mistakes'. In all seriousness, there isn't a day I'm not thankful for what he's done. People are saying that the media team is behind this fan connection, which I disagree with. Luke Williams seems to be the person who truly cares. I just get the feeling he treats everyone he meets the same. Such as his respectful approach after today's game against Colchester United. It was mentioned on the radio that he shook the hands of the officials, smiled and walked off without a fuss. While there's much for him to learn, we do need to acknowledge that he's already built Rome in one season. Yet, it wasn't a day, but that is still an amazing feat. He's now trying to build the Great Walls of Meadow Lane. Reflect and appreciate just how far we have come, whilst I take my medication.
  7. Oh wow, this is incredible. I can imagine my own children at the age of the girl in the picture doing exactly the same, unknowingly acknowledging the risk of the fire or what was going on. Something like this should be put in a book. It's amazing, this is one of the better aspects of social media.
  8. Their fans were **obs last season with us, but I wouldn't wish this on them. I would hope that they think more carefully about what chants they sing, especially considering we were one of the best teams last season in the National League. Meanwhile, they were one of the worst, if this is a glimpse as to what their owner may have tolerated then it's like shooting your foot or cutting your nose off to spite your face. Something their fans may want to suggest, but I do wish them well. Not having their ground and relying on someone else is awful.
  9. I hold Paul Mace in very high regard. He kindly gave me a copy of the Magpies Nest - I should find it and offer @super_ram a chance to read it. This is something I will look at eventually, as I am sure it will be a good read.
  10. I may pop round my dads again, I need to weigh myself, but I am starting to lose weight which is nice. I have a health person advising me, which most of it is simple, but it does help. So, I will have to spend some time reviewing my food diary and to ensure I get some exercise in at home. The walk would be a useful thing too, as going and coming back will add up. Before my little ramble, I mentioned going to my dad. I spent the time with him from 1 until kick off. I would have stayed longer, but I don't like disturbing him when he's watching or listening to Derby. It was a nice afternoon, with laughs and him talking about Skegness amongst things. Tomorrow, that's straight forward. There are a few things I need to take care of on here, but otherwise I aim to relax a little.
  11. Luke's interviews are great. I noticed a tweet from David Jackson earlier, and he mentioned how he loves to speak with him. I bet he does have more questions, but it's hard to ask them all when others are waiting and Luke Williams gives such detailed replies.
  12. I said to my dad earlier, I felt surprised that Derby didn't go in for him since they have to rely on free transfers, and he could have been a decent short term option. Dagenham & Redbridge may have made one of the best signings this National League if it pays off.
  13. Fairly quick, I wouldn't say rapid, but his sprint speed was fast at first. He wasn't to the level off Lewis Knight in terms of speed, which was extremely rapid. There were moments he looked quite good, but I don't think defending then was his strongest attribute. He had many moments where I recall the ball just not being controlled well, plus I do get the comment about him defining the laws of gravity.
  14. When you see calm, and collected passing like this against a decent team you have to feel impressed. Yet when it leads to a goal like this, I think I may just need jaw surgery because I can't get mine back up from off the floor.
  15. It's games like this. I dream of upgrading to an executive box and reliving the wonderful moments of our previous PON gathering. I hate Meadow Lane when it's overcrowded; it's frustrating and leads to my anxiety playing games. I've also heard we have sold out.
  16. Can I just say? I'm glad it's not us. That's what makes me thankful, a little selfish I know but these records are nothing but distractions. Cheltenham may rack up quite a few poor records during the course of this season. Good luck to them, but it's better them than anyone I care about.
  17. I feel quite nervous, which is something that I haven't felt so much at home for a while. I see they beat Grimsby Town today 2-1, quite alarming when I started to search "Swindon Town" in Google, a pop-up option for searching 3-1 came up. I realise this is our scoreline from when we last played and Google is aware I search things related to Notts but it better not be a warning sign too. When they are the team where our last time in League Two ended, I very much want us to win, and I would feel disappointed if we lost or even drew due to defensive mistakes. I don't want to see any of them, however, I'll cross the line if it does. I think we should be alright at Meadow Lane. Most likely, it may even be a draw but whatever the outcome is I am not going to let it change my belief or stop complaining about things. I suppose we will have to wait and see, yet I am mindful of a potential further setback.
  18. I'm not bothered, I don't really care either. Ken Clarke attends matches for both Notts and Forest regularly. There's been better Lib Dem leaders too. Whilst I sound more like someone much older, I just don't get the fuss about something like this. Its great others find it interesting, and I respect the discussion within this but for me, I quickly want to forget about it.
  19. @Alan, I just want to clarify. Do you also mean e-mails? I send on occasions newsletters, which is something I should do more often, but I can understand that this might not be something everyone wants to get. If this is the case, and you haven't turned off all your notifications to notice this, If emails are something you would like to be omitted from, just let me know. I'll turn it off within your settings for you, so that you don't get them in the future. Best wishes to you.
  20. Hello, @Niederbayern Pie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  21. The Jackass of smack, Johnny Jackson, played for us and them. Unfortunately, he was a player I highly rated until I heard him speaking nonsense about our club, city and fans. His actual forced move, which wasn't reflected in the media since he had the habit of putting it across in a way whereby people felt sorry for him - is something I will never forgive. He was ungrateful that we took him in, disrespectful because he felt that League Two was beneath him and all the comments he made about Notts County, Nottingham and our fans. It just made me feel like saying to him, well **** off back to London. I would've been sacked if I did, but even colleagues that aren't football fans, felt shocked by his disrespect.
  22. Well, I missed the first three goals as I had been to my dad's. I put the radio on my phone once I did get back, then noticed the score and messages from some of the group team members about scoreline. In football, when your side wins games, and you are playing well, sometimes you forget that it is totally unpredictable at times. Yet you are given an almost false sense of security and I would never have imagined that this would have been a nine goal thriller, with defensive mistakes which could be befitting in a comedy sketch about football. Unfortunately, this highlights how much better we need to be defensively. On the plus point, I don't think it's a case of the 'bubble bursting', I just feel as if we played a very good team who wanted to win just a little more than we did. Had we defended better, the outcome may have been much different, but I don't think we should dwell too much. I think we have been doing fantastically well and games like this just make you reflect a little more, we have a squad that can do well, and we need to see it in all areas of the pitch. We can't always rely on winning games by one more than the opposition, yet at the same time I don't think we need to overly worry. Full respect and credit must go to a very good Colchester United team, their fans won't be as bothered about the four goals they conceded even with their false league position. They will most likely just want to see more consistency with their own performances, which is what I am hoping we can go back to doing. If we defend stronger, we are capable of beating any team in this league. That's not me being biased or overconfident, but it is me saying that we need the right approach and not make such awkward mistakes that prove costly. Jodi Jones sounded quiet in the first half, perhaps guilty of not covering his defensive duties but what a goal he scored. It was absolutely fantastic, whilst I mentioned him, I don't think we need to call out the players individually. I just want to note that it's a team effort and my point was more to mention his contribution towards fixing a slight area he perhaps could have done better. Certainly, there are defenders in our squad that switched off and proved that to be more costly. Isn't that football, though?
  23. 3-1 to Colchester. Noah Chilvers 10' Jayden Fevrier 31' Arthur Read 38' Sam Austin 21' It sounds like Colchester United are attacking very well, with us perhaps making it a bit too easy. Hopefully, Luke Williams will try to lift the players and demand more from them.
  24. Norwich City 2-0 Birmingham City QPR 1-1 Coventry City Port Vale 0-1 Bolton Wanderers Reading 3-1 Burton Albion Gillingham 1-2 Mansfield Town Salford City 1-1 Newport County Halifax Town 0-1 Eastleigh (Joker) Rochdale 2-2 Southend United
  25. When I think of past games which are most memorable for me, there are two which stand out the most. Two games, I can't separate them from each other. May 3rd 2014 Oldham Athletic 1 Notts County 1 Back then I went to every game, home and away. We were looking likely to make a return to League Two and our fanbase were reflecting this. The game wasn't very eventful at all; when Oldham scored I got a real sense that everyone had given up. It was just so silent, you could see on the faces of people that they thought that was it. I remember Oldham nearly scoring a second, then all of a sudden we hit the post and had an effort go wide. Around the 70th minute, Notts started to look a bit brighter and 5 minutes later, Alan Sheehan had tucked a penalty away to make it 1-1. This instantly lifted morale, everyone went berserk. Those final 15 minutes were the happiest but most tense for obvious reasons. 1. Bialkowski, 2. Dumbuya (Substituted for McGregor at 73 minutes), 3. Sheehan, 4. Thompson, 5. Liddle, 6. Hollis, 7. Campbell-Ryce, 8. Vela, 9. Murray, 10. Spencer, 11. Grealish. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27167977 August 27th 2013 Liverpool 4 Notts County 2 I remember a lot of our fans expressing they would be ripped apart, I know of people who were trying to sell their tickets and I just hoped we could go, give a good account of ourselves and try to improve further in the league. In hindsight, I think we did exactly this. This was the first Premier League ground that I have been to too.oo. Jake was very excited to go too. It felt a bit daunting to be at Anfield, yet the atmosphere was very good - even if we weren't joining in as much. I was part of a small group that started chanting early on. I always felt like this would take the nervous off the players and whilst I thought going level seemed impossible. It goes to show what happens when the support is lifted, as the lads did very well. I remember us chanting to Steven Gerrerd what the score was, he turned and, smiled showing the score with his fingers. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/23764145
