  1. @Chris this is true, but question is will the career span as long as the previous 3?
  2. Just shows the Longevity of the careers
  3. Blackburn Rovers 1-3 West Bromwich Albion Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Huddersfield Town Carlisle United 2-2 Fleetwood Town Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Cheltenham Town Morecambe 1-2 Walsall Tranmere Rovers 2-0 Barrow (Joker) Aldershot 3-1 Oxford City Gateshead 1-1 Boreham Wood
  4. After last year's summer, where it reached 40+ in some areas, I thought we'd be in for a decent summer this year. It hasn't been cold and the weather has been fairly warm but we've had rain practically everyday for about a month now with hints of sunshine beeming down. Not forgetting those thunderstorms that we've experienced especially when there was 4 in one week. I'm not expecting temperatures to reach 40 again because when I was working through the heat last year, it was exhausting. Starting work at 6am and temperatures were already at 23 then leaving at 4pm with temperatures at 38. But even if for just one week we could have a decent summer where the sun is out, abit of heat and no rain. Wouldn't that be great? Especially while the kids are off school. It's certainly caused confusion at the weather station they don't know what to say anymore they change the end of rainy days at least twice a day it seems
  5. @Chris I've heard of his controversial history, mostly when discussing about him at work. I'll be honest I know very little about it. I just know that I enjoyed his films and the kids seemed to enjoy his latest on that's on Netflix. WWE have acknowledged Chyna but there were certain things that went off backstage that very few know the full details of which is why they're limited in the honouring of her. It's the same as Hall of Fame though ain't it, certain people are in there over others that deserve it more.
  6. @Fan of Big Tone as mentioned in a previous comment, he's just a sillier Mr Bean tbf. He was an acquired taste.
  7. @Fan of Big Tone No, he's not a wrestling star. He's an actor. WWE only posted this because he hosted RAW as General Manager one time. They often had celebrities as hosts a while back.
  8. The Lionesses were absolutely fantastic against China today. Thought it would have been a tougher game than it proved to be tbf but they got the job done emphatically moving onto the knockouts. Sarina Wiegman got everything right with her selection today as highlighted by the commentators on numerous occasions. Millie Bright was superb at the back and played a key role in the opening 2 goals by making vital interceptions that led to the 2 goals. Lauren James deserves so much praise. She never shy'd away from the ball and when she had the ball, she had the confidence to take on anyone that stood in her way. She deserved a hat trick and can feel so unfortunate not to have had one. All 3 efforts that hit the back of the net were outstanding strikes especially the one that made it 4 (second time round ) terrific first time volley. Hope she continues to start. Have to feel sorry for Lucy Bronze though. First she was deemed offside which led to James' strike being ruled out. I think the referee made an error there. Yes, she was in an offside position at first but she didn't have any involvement then another player touched it (I'm sure it was a Chinese defender) that's when she got involved at the point she was in an offside position. Secondly, the penalty she gave away. By the letter of the law yes it's deemed handball but in all fairness she was pushed by Earps into the ball. Can take the penalty being given but I don't think it warranted a yellow card. But, where was VAR when Russo had her hair pulled back? Seen it in the Premier League of hair pulling, it prevented Russo from challenging for the ball. I was glad to see Russo get on the score sheet, I think that's going to do her a world of good going forward in the tournament and hopefully she gets a few more. Overall, it was a very comfortable game of football for the Lionesses and I think this is a winning formula that Wiegman laid out today.
  9. That's how I described him to the kids when they wanted to know what film we was watching. They love Mr Bean so I just said to them "he's a sillier version of Mr Bean"
  10. This absolutely sucks. I remember watching "Pee-Wees Big Adventure" and "Big Top Pee-Wee" as a kid. Just the other day I sat with the kids to watch "Pee-Wees Big Holiday" and they absolutely loved it. He brought a lot of laughter and will be missed. May he rest in peace.
  11. @AmericanPie I've heard this guy mentioned on Instagram by Tom MacDonald. Might have to give this a listen.
  12. Currently, I'm doing overtime at work. Entering the 3rd week in a row of doing overtime and I'll admit it's kinda taking its toll now but after next week is done, I'm off for 2 weeks so I'll get time to recover. Other than that, haven't really done much during the close season. I'm hoping to get to more Notts games this season. Haven't been able to attend many games in previous years due to living in Coalville. Until recently, the buses didn't run from Nottingham to Coalville after 4.30 which means that I'd practical have to miss the second half. But now they're on till 5.35 so it gives me plenty of time. I only managed the 2 games last season and the friendly against Forest last weekend. Once you get to a certain point in thec close season and kits start getting released, players arrive in, friendlies take place you just want the season to start. However, when there's football on, like at the minute the Women's World Cup, it makes it that bit easier to cope with a close season.
  13. Today's game against Haiti, I felt, was very entertaining. I'll admit that, just like I think many people did, I underestimated how tough this game was going to be. Me and a mate of mine were talking predictions before the game. I had England down for 8-0, he had them down for 6. How wrong we were. Although I did send a messaged straight after he replied his prediction with "watch it end 1-0 or something low". So in a way I was technically right I think it's clear to see that the Lionesses are missing a few key players in this squad as they pointed out many times on commentary. It was a combination of 2 things. That being Haiti were tougher than anticipated and England not really performing as good as they probably should be. But I'll give Haiti credit, they were faster and stronger than England. Had it not been for Mary Earps, England might have lost. In the end, the Lionesses, just about, got the job done. Onwards and upwards.
  14. I will be following the Lionesses. Due to work and the times the games start, I can't catch many games but will be able to catch today's game against Haiti and the game against China. The Denmark game I'll probably just listen to on the radio at work. Will also try and catch some of the other games. Currently got the Zambia v Japan game on.
  15. Charlie is gonna be missed on matchday commentary. His passion and commitment to the club as well as giving fans the best possible coverage was clear for all to see and hear. Him and Stal as a duo were brilliant. They both had such good chemistry and bounced off eachother superbly well. The thing that sticks in my mind when mentioning Charlie Slater is "in your life Michael Doyle" Wishing him all the best for the future and also good luck to whoever comes in to fill his boots
  16. Best Signing : Jodi Jones Highest Goal Scorer : Macca Most Improved Player of the Season : Tobi Most Starts in the Season : Kyle Cameron Best partnership between two players : Chicksen - Jones
  17. It was a good game of football tbf. I thought we deserved at least a goal. We had the better opportunities and I think it's fair to say the loss was possibly against the run of the game. It was only a mistake that let them in to get the only goal which Williams owned up to after the match rather than it being down to Cameron which I have to give him credit for doing so it shows great leadership deflecting it onto himself rather than the player. There were times where it was a bit frustrating that nothing was materialising in the final 3rd despite getting in to good areas on multiple occasions only for the ball to end up back or Forest being able to regroup quickly. I did notice that when Claxton played the wrong ball, Langstaff was quick to blast him for it as there were better options available for him to pass to that could have lead to a great attacking opportunity. There will always be those that say Forest didn't play their full squad that would regularly feature in the Premier League but there were many of them that will feature quite often next season. Also, we played a very mixed bag in both halves especially the second half where the likes of Claxton, Munakandafa and Mahovo came on. Jones and Nemane, I thought, did well down the wings and looked threatening going forward. I'd also like to note that Chicksen had Mighten right in his pocket which led to Forest needing to move him on the other side. Overall I thought it was a great pre season game that showed where the players are at and also gives Williams an idea of where the teams at, what needs to worked on and how to progress with this team for the upcoming season to get the most out of it.
  18. @JackMagpie95 I felt it quite disrespectful too didn't really know the full extent before hearing this interview. But you're right, it effected him more than it could have others as he was dealing with his own struggles which obviously made it worse. I wasn't sure what I was expecting if I'm honest but it wasn't anything like what I seen or heard that's for sure.
  19. Tomorrow, me and the wife are heading to Nottingham. Going to watch the Notts v Forest game and then going out in the evening for a catch up with some good friends. Brother in law is having the kids for the night. It's rare that we get time together without the kids so it should be a good weekend even despite the rainy weather but hopefully the weather picks up. Then on Sunday, probably make the most of being back in Nottingham do a bit of shopping or something before the journey back home to Coalville. Neither of us drive so it's a long bus journey.
  20. @Fan of Big Tone it's tremendous from Wednesday. Everyone wrote them off from the first leg and no other team has ever comeback from the deficit in the play offs so to pull it off was incredible.
  21. @KingWilliams 100% the UK tabloids are scumbags. Take Gazza for example they exploited him multiple times and it's all highlighted in his documentary. They do anything to get a story and the way they go about doing so it's utterly wrong, they don't seem to have a care in the world about how it effects the person mentally or how much it damages their reputation they just care about getting a story. @Chris mental health is a major thing and people can hide it but when you know a person, you can tell when somethings up. Even, as you said, people like Dele you could see it was more than ability or what was happening on the pitch. The unfortunate thing is that he didn't allow people in despite efforts to help him but he now realises that it's needed. I too hope football fans can get off his back and let him get back to playing football and let him regain himself as a player we know he's capable of being. Dyche has already shown he's willing to put an arm around his shoulder and be there for him so that could be massive in helping him. Unfortunately, to reiterate @KingWilliams point about tabloids I don't think they're going to lay off. I hope I'm wrong though but can't see it. As I said, I hope this interview opens the door to more people talking about their own issues. Lee Dixon mentioned on a podcast about Tony Adams back in the day trying to open up but unfortunately he was in a time where it wasn't a thing men did back then but in todays day and age it's more open to discussion.
  22. I encourage people to watch this. It's a real eye opener and shows a different perspective to what has been mentioned in the past. Now that everything's out in the open and Dele's getting himself back on track, I hope that this is his rise back into being the player he had the ability to become. He's still got some years in him. It's also great to see him being so open with Neville and sharing some very personal issues he's had to deal with from a young age that many people might not be aware of and how he dealt with them which hopefully encourages more people to talk, get help and be able to open up more about things rather than dealing with issues the wrong way.
  23. @AmericanPie absolutely, he can switch it on and off whenever he wants. He knows how to deal with situations in his own way and it works for him.
  24. @DangerousSausage Sheffield Wednesdays comeback was absolutely extraordinary. It's definitely in the mix at the top. Great Shout! @liampie remember watching this game and thinking Japan were gonna do it. But the winning goal is something to be applauded. One of the greatest counter attack goals in history.
  25. @AmericanPie Very credible contender tbf given the first leg deficit and beating Barca at Anfield the way they did.
