  1. @CliftonMagpie The thing that gets me, as I mentioned in the post, is that they could do the most basic human thing possible then media and fans alike jump on it. Sometimes I sympathise with them just like footballers as they can't do anything without being in the public eye but sometimes they lap it up for attention, as you say. I don't mind stories about Celebs that actually benefit causes.
  2. @Chris Without doubt mate. He found a way to deal with everything thrown at him which let him be his true self. I agree, he could be a comedian in another. I listen to both his podcasts and they're unbelievably good to listen to. He's such a genuine, funny guy and that's why he's so adored by many. All 3 football documentaries I've watched on Amazon (Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Peter Crouch) have all been tremendous. Gonna have to watch more I reckon.
  3. Celebrities are always in the public eye and everything they do gets captured and ate up by the media and fans. But sometimes it can be the simplest things they do, that the average person might do on a regular basis. The fact that they say "they're just like us". I get people being big fans but they're still humans just like the rest of us and will do human things that we all enjoy. I remember Tom Cruise going to a restaurant and ordering 2 curries, which doesn't seem like a big deal as some average Joe's may do that regularly, but difference is it's actually benefitted and helped a business to gain more customers. Is there any celebrity news stories anyone else has seen that you just thought like well what am I supposed to do with that sort of information or why is it even news worthy?
  4. Without doubt a key man that contributed to our promotion. Matty Palmer is an absolute baller. Class act.
  5. @AmericanPie just the first one all the way through and bit of the 2010 one bout it
  6. Since it was announced that Peter Crouch was having a film documentary made about him on Amazon Prime, I couldn't wait to give it a watch. Although it came out on Thursday, I've got round to watching it tonight and it was fantastic. Crouchy has had one incredible journey in Football. A lesser man would have folded with the stick he had to endure throughout his career. So for him to overcome everything that was thrown out him to becoming one of the most popular likeable entertaining characters of all time is something to be applauded. 100% recommend watching this if you get the chance. It's a terrific watch.
  7. @Joshua the first 2 ghostbusters are brilliant films. Not seen any of the new ones. I don't like films that don't feel like the originals. The Wrong House was a good film to watch. Things like Resident Evil and Final Destination are also good ones to watch. Another good one to watch is The Hole. Watched it in 3d as the dvd came with 3d glasses, only watched it twice but a while back so don't remember much about it but I do know it made for a good watch.
  8. @AmericanPie funny story about Nightmare on Elm Street. My brothers are all 10+ years older than me and they often babysat me and my sister. One night they thought it'd be funny to "scare me" by letting me watch Nightmare on Elm Street at the age of 7 but I wasn't fazed by it. They told me not to tell my mum and dad but being a kid I was just too excited to tell them about a man named Freddy Krueger. My brothers got a real good telling off ???? Great film though enjoyed it ???? Still need to watch Blair Witch Project heard many good things about it. Horror Films aren't my go to choice of film but I don't mind watching them, they don't really bother me too much.
  9. Gary Neville says Premier League should stop Saudi Arabia transfers - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65956434 Well worth giving this a watch if you have a spare 5 minutes.
  10. Jodi Jones has been my favourite signing but I think David McGoldrick will have the biggest impact. Don't really know a stunning amount of the other 2 signings tbf although I've seen posts about Crowley and it sounds like a fantastic signing.
  11. @DonnyNotts yeah I've seen a few things on twitter about Wednesday fans being kinda glad to see the back of Moore. Strange, 3rd best defence in the league aswell as them having a good goalscoring season.
  12. @Chris some clubs are lucky in that respect but later down the line luck runs out and the merry go round starts to back fire and decline happens with no stability.
  13. @Chris have to feel sorry for Moore. Sacked as Wednesday boss after getting them promoted and before all this for sacked at West Brom despite being 4th in the Championship. Hopefully it's not them trying to get a more famous coach in, as you say. The Bournemouth one could backfire, it's understandable but these things can go horribly wrong as has been done many times. @DonnyNotts that would make a lot of sense. It's a common thing these days, managers want a bit of control but as soon as they ask for abit of say they get the boot.
  14. Have to feel sorry for both of these. Gary O'Neil did well for Bournemouth, managed to keep them in the Premier League and pulled off some great results with him as head coach. While Darren Moore got Sheffield Wednesday promoted after guiding them to one of the greatest comebacks in football. The Bournemouth one is understandable as they had a replacement already lined up with how quick the new manager has been announced. However, I feel that's a bit shady from the club to already have someone lined up before the man in charge is still at the club. Never liked clubs like that. I'm not buying the whole mutual consent situation with Darren Moore that seems to get thrown around as a cop out by the club. I could be wrong and I'll stand corrected if it is actually the case. What's everyone's opinion, if you have any, on these sackings?
  15. @liampie totally get it, I try to keep tweets at a minimum sometimes because social media can be a toxic place especially by those who hide behind anonymous accounts. It's why I also try keep personal life away from twitter and keep it more for like Facebook.
  16. To help all of us connect better I thought it'd be good for us to follow eachother, not just on PoN, but also on socials too. Drop twitter handles below to get us all get connected more. Twitter - @kb1862
  17. After the previous owners we've had, it's nice to finally have owners who have a real passion for the game and run this club the way it needs to be ran. Their recruitment process has also been fantastic as they suit to what the club needs.
  18. I'll admit I do find a lot of topics interesting from the same people but haven't followed any of them. Must do this going forward.
  19. @Ohh Tommy Johnson not sure I've heard that one, might have to look into some of the different rules and way they played the game compared to us back in the day.
  20. @Ohh Tommy Johnson oh yeah absolutely, the MLS back in the day wasn't that great. Although, they did have an interesting way of doing penalty shootouts. Quite liked the way they did them.
  21. The MLS is actually a decent league to watch tbf. Of course there are some games which can be looked at as a poor level of football but with their expansion and more teams becoming involved, it's getting to a decent level. It deserves more credit than it gets. But with the MLS there's more of a level playing field in terms of teams getting players but not able to go above a certain amount of wages due to the MLS franchise owning the rights as opposed to clubs. There is the exception to overseas players though however. As far as I understand it, they can get so many overseas players that are deemed of a certain standard and be able to offer them more than the allowed wages for all others. That's as far as I understand it anyway. Where as in leagues like China and Saudi, they just offer what ever the hell they like and it has little effect. Can't see it becoming any more appealing even with the players coming in. As @Ohh Tommy Johnson said rather than getting aging players they surely can try persuade prime players to come over for that kind of pay day.
  22. @Chris I've not seen too much of it but little bits that I have seen, it's not appealing at all. More than likely there's match fixing involved. I'd be amazed if there wasn't any. https://www.instagram.com/p/CtJdEh1ouFr/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== More players are being rumoured.
  23. Whenever I check out the gossip column on BBC Sport or there's a transfer rumour on social media, there's multiple players being linked with a move to the Saudi League. Some big names being linked to go there as well. Benzema, Lewandowski, Gundogan, Kante, Messi as well as already having Ronaldo in there, who I believe is the start of big name players heading over there for a nice pay day. I personally don't know much about the league myself but all I can think is players are moving over there for the big fat pay day that they are being offered. It almost feels like when the Chinese Super League started gaining attention and got linked with pretty much every single big name player in the world and offering them hefty wages to sweeten deals.
