  1. @CliftonMagpie That's the one I had signed at my school leavers. Still kept hold of it but no chance it fits now I've gotten rid of a few that I've outgrown tbf. Wish I kept hold of them even if it's just to store away.
  2. @thommo They're very reasonable on Kitbag and Score Draw. The designs are great, the prices are good and they often have deals on with percentages off the normal price. The latest top in this 1990 England Shirt Collection, my wife got it for me from JD Sport for £15. They had some others on sale for between £10-£15.
  3. @Blake I've seen a few of his videos. That's more of a collector yeah. Personally I couldn't do collecting shirts like that, they have to be teams I like. Although some kits do seem tempting at times. @Chris that's my issue as well the price of them is off putting but also the designs since switching to Nike haven't been as good as umbro designs. The shirt they used in the 2020 Euros was one of the best in recent years. The new home kit I'm not keen on but the red away is nice on the eye. Great of you to hand them down rather than getting rid of them. They get to go to good use. One of the England shirts I have, the 98 home shirt which remains my favourite England top of all time, was handed down to me tbf. I remember sports direct having a massive sale on England shirts back in 2013 and I got 4 shirts for £35.
  4. @AmericanPie 100% I have a favourite seat especially when it comes to gaming. It's the sofa that's directly facing the TV in the perfect position for avoiding glare on a sunny day and being at the right angle. It feels weird sitting elsewhere although I will do occasionally if someone else is already in that spot.
  5. @liampie Yeah the umbro ones were great. I often check out Score Draw, Sports Direct, Kitbag, Classic Football Shirts or even JD Sports for retro shirts. Sometimes I'll find them in Charity shops and Ebay. The price has put me off getting the newer ones they're ridiculously priced. I have a few old Notts tops that I won't part with including a GK top I had in my teens which earnt me the nickname in school as "Pilko". @Fan of Big Tone I've always enjoyed wearing football tops myself but they're not everyone's choice of attire. I don't blame you for getting shirts with a badge on them given how much cheaper they are than replica shirts
  6. @Blake Accumulating/Collecting, I see it as both the same thing personally. There's some in a bag in the attic from when I was younger that definitely do not fit me anymore One of them that I've kept all these years have end of year leaving school writing on from school mates. Didn't have a school polo on the day we was signing shirts so the England top I had on did the job. So it's a nice memory to keep. There's many more in the wardrobe I've got over the years including ones that I loved when I was younger but outgrew them so found them on places like ebay and stuff. Even got this little beaut for Christmas..
  7. @TheSkipper Keylor Navas was put on the map after Costa Rica's 2014 World Cup performance. They were deemed the whipping boys but did superbly in that tournament to get to the knockouts. Michael Owens goal v Argentina in 98 was special. Growing up as an Owen fan, I've watched that goal so many times. Everything about that goal was incredible from Beckham’s pass to Owens control, run and shrugging defenders off to finish it emphatically. I would've been 5 when he scored that but as mentioned I didn't have an interest in football till around 2002 which I why I opted for more 02 onwards cause there's so many players to choose from before our times. Especially Maradona in 86. Although I stand by the fact neither of his 2 goals should've stood. The second goal is easily the best World Cup goal of all time but as good as it was, it shouldn't have been stood along with his "hand of god"
  8. 2002 was the first World Cup I paid some sort of attention to as it was around that time I started to get an interest into football so I'll go from that point onwards. Asamoah Gyan in 2010 was the main man for a Ghana team that came so close to reaching the semi final. James Rodriguez in 2014 had the World in the palm of his hands following his showing at the World Cup. Unfortunate how his career has gone downhill. Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappe had fantastic World Cups. Modric single handedly got Croatia to the final with his midfield Maestro performances. Mbappe shown why he was such a highly rated young player and played a major part for France winning it. R9 at the 2002 World Cup. Bit of a redemption story for him after the 1998 World Cup controversy. At the absolute top of his game, especially in the final. Special mention to Tim Howard in the 2014 World Cup. Just for his performance against Belgium. Kept USA in with a chance of nicking something against Belgium in the Ro16. Save after save after save. Had the game of his life. Tajon Buchanan was a sensation for Canada at the 2022 World Cup. Genuinely surprised no one came in for him after the efforts he put in.
  9. I also got this book for my birthday, which I still need to get round to giving it a read, after hearing good things about it and listening about the details on the Three Lions Podcast. Which could be helpful for further collecting and learning about the history of England kits.
  10. Since getting into football at the age of 10, I've always had the latest England shirt. Less so in recent years. Since switching from Umbro to Nike, the designs haven't been as good as they were when they were with Umbro but also the prices have gone ridiculous for them. I think I only got the first 2 kits since they made the switch. Over the past few years, I've started collecting retro England shirts from multiple stores all through Score Draw. Personally, I prefer the older kits to the newer ones. Can't beat a classic football shirt. I've now managed to complete a collection. The 1990 England shirt collection is now complete. These shirts are up there as one of the greatest England shirts there have been.
  11. Don't know too much about him if I'm being honest. However, from the read up on the article he seems to be a good addition and fits the bill for what they're looking for in a GK. Healthy competition is good. I agree with @Chris that I hope Tiernan Brooks gets loaned out to get game time and you have to feel sorry for him with a new goalkeeper coming in.
  12. Gary Neville says Premier League should stop Saudi Arabia transfers - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65956434 Well worth giving this a watch if you have a spare 5 minutes.
  13. Jodi Jones has been my favourite signing but I think David McGoldrick will have the biggest impact. Don't really know a stunning amount of the other 2 signings tbf although I've seen posts about Crowley and it sounds like a fantastic signing.
  14. I'm sure I've seen this but I have very little memory of it. Must get round to watching.
  15. Brilliant film! Great minds think alike Must watch this, is it on TV currently like Amazon or anything? Interesting concept, all for it. Would like to hear more about this proposal of a new pyramid scenario. If you can enlighten? Still not got round to watching this, heard so many good things about it as well as the Spurs one. Fantastic player!
  16. I'm glad Notts have turned it down. The council should have planned something ready for when it did happen. Too little too late to try organise something. Players have left and new ones have arrived.
  17. Favourite Football Kit? England 1998 Home Best ground you've been to? Anfield Favourite player growing up? Michael Owen Who is your GOAT? It's between Zinedine Zidane and R9 Favourite Football Video Game? Championship Manager 01/02 Favourite Football-based Movie? Mean Machine. Although Escape to Victory is up there. Favourite Football Documentary? Steven Gerrard: Make Us Dream First football match? Nottingham Forest 0-0 Wimbledon 2002 (Don't judge I was only 10 and it was my brothers idea as a birthday gift) If you could watch just 1 football match for the rest of your life what would it be? Germany 1-5 England Football never existed, what's your go to alternative? Wrestling You can change 1 decision in football history, what would it be? Diego Maradona's hand of god
  18. @DonnyNotts yeah I've seen a few things on twitter about Wednesday fans being kinda glad to see the back of Moore. Strange, 3rd best defence in the league aswell as them having a good goalscoring season.
  19. At the end of every episode of Kammy and Ben's Proper Football Podcast, they ask their guests multiple questions and all they have to do is fill in the blanks. So I thought I'd give it a go on here with some added different questions. Favourite Football Kit? Best ground you've been to? Favourite player growing up? Who is your GOAT? Favourite Football Video Game? Favourite Football-based Movie? Favourite Football Documentary? First football match? If you could watch just 1 football match for the rest of your life what would it be? Football never existed, what's your go to alternative? You can change 1 decision in football history, what would it be?
  20. @CliftonMagpie often see that happen where a player thinks they're better or bigger than a club only to then fall out of favour with their new club and then go on a decline
  21. @Fan of Big Tone Absolutely England have a bright future with the talent coming through. Also agree on the fact that I too thought Macedonia would be a tougher test than it ended up being given how well they've progressed in recent years. So for England to win 7-0 emphatically is to be applauded.
  22. @KingWilliams I'm not Southgate's biggest fan tbf. Off the pitch he has done wonders. Ended the club rivalry stuff that was detrimental to the National side as well as bringing in this pride and determination we see today but he discredits himself when he makes comments like "the players didn't look like winning against France" when that's his job to build them up and guide them. Plus he has no plan b and is tactically incapable when things aren't working. His record against bigger teams doesn't make for pleasant reading. He has all the capabilities and players at his disposal but at times he let's himself down. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
  23. @Chris some clubs are lucky in that respect but later down the line luck runs out and the merry go round starts to back fire and decline happens with no stability.
  24. @Chris have to feel sorry for Moore. Sacked as Wednesday boss after getting them promoted and before all this for sacked at West Brom despite being 4th in the Championship. Hopefully it's not them trying to get a more famous coach in, as you say. The Bournemouth one could backfire, it's understandable but these things can go horribly wrong as has been done many times. @DonnyNotts that would make a lot of sense. It's a common thing these days, managers want a bit of control but as soon as they ask for abit of say they get the boot.
  25. Honestly expected tonight's game against North Macedonia be a lot tougher than it turned out to be. In full control all game. The most comfortable England performance I've ever seen. You could see how much the players were enjoying themselves out there. Saka will get all the credit with his 3 goals but Rashford was a stand out Performer. When Trent first time balled it to Saka and then Saka let rip with the strike, I genuinely got out my sofa and shouted "Oh my word" both the pass and shot were equally as good as eachother. If England can play this style of play more often with the high press and constant pressure, we can take on anybody. This is the way we should go into every game and play. We can be genuine contenders with this kind of play and players. Just hope that even against the bigger teams we perform exactly the same.
