  1. This is a tricky one to swallow, even though it's not altogether unexpected. Selling quality always hurts, particularly when it weakens an already critical position. I’d say Bass was comfortably among the top keepers we’ve had in recent years, so it’ll certainly be noticeable when he's not marshalling our defence. Hopefully, the management already have a keen eye on a potential replacement who can step straight in with minimal fuss. Fingers crossed the transfer funds aren't frittered away, because we genuinely have gaps elsewhere on the pitch that could do with investment too. Crucial time ahead now.
  2. I understand why people are talking about it, and I’ve seen a lot of comments on social media too. But I don’t like how the media are poking into someone’s personal life just because he’s taken what is, really, a normal job. The only thing that makes it different is that Luke Williams has worked as a football manager. If he was a bigger name, I could maybe understand the interest a bit more. But I agree with others who say he deserves his privacy. I don’t mind what he’s doing now, as long as he’s happy and doing okay. I’ve got no hard feelings towards him for leaving us.
  3. If it does turn out to be Steffen Højer, I wonder how everyone would feel about it. For a club like ours, it would be a big achievement to bring in someone with his background, especially after doing well with the Danish Under-21s. I’d be more than happy if he got the job. While EFL experience would be useful, a good coach should be able to adapt. With Notts looking to reshape the coaching setup, it does seem possible they might be going for someone who fits into that new structure.
  4. The Reedtz brothers know the club well. They’re supporters of Viborg, which explains their interest there, and it all seems to fit together. Hopefully the deal is done and the contract is secure, because if Denmark go on and win, there’s a chance we’d need to start looking again if the link is true. Even so, I’d like to think the club’s already sorted it all out if that’s the case.
  5. There are a few reasons floating about, and we’re all guessing what seems most likely. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s good to have some ideas about why it’s taken so long. If we’ve actually got the Danish Under-21s manager, then the announcement could be quite something.
  6. In a few days, it should just be hot again. The best thing to do is make the most of it and keep cool where you can. It’s not always easy though, and I really feel for anyone living in brick houses that trap the heat.
  7. A loan signing suits this position well, so I’m pleased with the move. We still need more strength and quality in central midfield. Hopefully, the next signing will be a wingback or someone to take over from David McGoldrick.
  8. Definitely a red card. Jatta didn’t help himself with his reaction afterwards, but the Dons players were provoking him, and sadly, he gave them exactly the response they wanted. I wouldn’t be surprised if his suspension gets extended because he struggled to leave the field peacefully.
  9. George Abbott was outstanding and deserved the opening goal. It's a shame how quickly things changed in the second half, but Abbott was excellent.
  10. I never felt that George Abbott wouldn't want to extend his stay. It was clear how much he's enjoying it, and why would Tottenham remove him from this environment? If we weren't in the running for automatics and December had us drop off like it nearly appeared, then maybe, but not like this.
  11. I think Gillingham will be aiming for mid-table now. I can't see them doing much better, and avoiding falling further down the table will be more important.
  12. I am surprised there's been nothing about Stuart Maynard being voted Manager of the Month, though that tends to be cursed. I wish David McGoldrick all the best with being named League Two's Player of the Month.
  13. Good luck to Etete at Bolton. It's always good to see an ex-Notts lad do well, especially a youth player, because not many manage to get that far.
  14. No way someone called Alex Palmer played for Notts in 2019. I don't remember him at all! That period has been scrubbed from my mind though.
  15. I can't see it winning any architecture awards with that design. It looks like a child's drawing at the top. What are Wrexham thinking with that?
  16. X says the media could not be played, probably due to them wanting more people to join it, which I refuse outright.
  17. Mike Williamson had the chance of a dream move, not once but twice. If he was a good manager at this level, he should have turned Carlisle United's fortunes around. He should spend more time establishing himself in the National League and perhaps find a club where he can compete at the right end of the table. His EFL career looks poor, with MK Dons failing to reach their potential despite backing Williamson and now failing to turn Carlisle's fortunes around.
  18. The way Carlisle United have been signing players, I thought Aidan Stone might join Cedwyn Scott up north with them, despite wanting to be closer to his family. I wish Stone all the best. I don't mind him and always felt he acted professionally. No fuss, just tried to impress, and when out of favour, he kept trying. That has to be respected because most would cause trouble or complain.
  19. It's a good introduction. I think if you had posted this in many other places, you would have been laughed at. But I appreciate your post for what it is. It is a good way to introduce yourself. Now, spill some more gossip, please? I am joking.
  20. I thought at first this was about Jordan Richards, Pedro's lad, confusing the two. It's sad to see this happen. I hope he recovers from his coma.
