  1. I would love promotion, but I won’t let that come at the cost of being unrealistic. I think we have a good squad, one which needs to settle. It could be good enough for League One, with some further additions to the team, but even if we fall out of the playoff spots, I am happy with the way the club is progressing. The way things are, we can build and become stronger. Once we are strong enough, I am sure promotion will come. It might not be this season, it might not be the next, but if we keep pushing and growing, it will happen. I try to enjoy the football more than anything.
  2. I understand the frustration with conceding two goals and then a third, which puts Notts on the back foot, needing a late equaliser even after dominating the first half with a good showing. Jatta coming on and getting the goal needed to go to penalties is a plus. I am glad he has got his first goal; he just needs one in the league now. I am not that disappointed; I think the three changes came at the wrong time. I don’t think Stuart Maynard did it to throw the game; I believe he wanted to give players more minutes on the pitch. It might have made sense to bring on Alex Bass, as Sam Slocombe did seem to struggle with the pressure and how the Notts defence went. It made more sense to consider this.
  3. Reading about Fleetwood’s pre-season and new acquisitions, particularly Mark Helm, makes it clear they’re a team reborn. Their quest for a striker seems to be the final piece of their puzzle, and once addressed, they’ll likely be even more formidable. Facing Notts, they’re likely to be brimming with confidence, especially after their recent cup win. For Notts, it’s about rediscovering our form and ensuring that every player contributes effectively. The match will indeed demand a lot from us tactically and mentally. Let’s hope our squad lives up to the challenge and delivers a performance worthy of our expectations.
  4. We dominated the possession, but need to be more clinical upfront. Still, a promising start!
  5. With a bit of luck, he’ll keep getting playing time and have some involvement throughout the season. That’s the most effective way to help a young player develop. Reynolds does seem to be a very promising young talent.
  6. Numerous alterations were made around the 70th minute, but there’s no cause for concern. It’s pre-season, and the players are still getting into their stride. Kudos to York for their comeback, but I’d be content with a draw in a friendly match any day. Has there been any update on why Dan Crowley was taken off? How severe is his injury?
  7. The video appears to have been removed, possibly due to copyright issues. However, I can visualise the mishap in my mind.
  8. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Mark Holland.
  9. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @jake008.
  10. I woke up at half past six in the morning, followed by a swift exercise session. After that, I had my breakfast. Before stepping out of the house, I took a shower and completed the usual routines. My work began at half past eight. It started with a brief meeting, which was then followed by several other meetings. Around one in the afternoon, I had my lunch. I enjoyed a homemade salad and a sandwich. After lunch, I resumed my work until about half past five in the evening. Once I got home, I watched some television to relax a bit. And now, here I am.
  11. Hello, @lucy80. Welcome to PON. Hope to see you join in.
  12. The majority of individuals who engage in this behaviour are fans who take their team’s rivalry to an extreme level, even going as far as to sew Stone Island labels onto their garments. They represent the most undesirable kind of supporters any club could have.
  13. I don’t make an effort to rise or respond to the doorbell, even though the sight of a hand emerging from a secondary door and gesturing towards a sign seems quite reminiscent of Monty Python.
  14. To add a bit of excitement, one could consider eliminating points for draws, thus making winning games a necessity. However, it’s unlikely that the current point system could undergo such a change. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see the outcome if points were awarded solely for victories.
  15. I’m not concerned about the decisions that led to his sale. My focus is on seeing Notts improve. With some funds available, the club could significantly bolster our first team. Of course, I’m saddened to see Macaulay Langstaff leave, but it was bound to happen sooner or later.
  16. I wish him the best of luck. We’re accustomed to players leaving and appearing on the retained list, often without any financial gain. While the fee may not seem impressive, it’s a good move for Macaulay Langstaff.
  17. I’m sad to see him leave. He communicated well and had a good rapport with the fans. His skills weren’t as poor as some people made out, and he always performed better when the rest of the team was in form. I believe he’s made the right decision. We can’t hold him back, especially when some suggest he’s not even up to the mark.
  18. I’ve seen him play for the youth team, where he did fairly well. However, from what I remember of his time in the first team, he often seemed nervous. I wish him the best of luck. He’ll need to develop a strong will.
  19. The transfer was bound to happen at some point. In my view, it’s better than losing him in the middle of the season, which could have been devastating and more difficult to recover from. On the other hand, we now have the pre-season and time to bolster the squad. I’m pleased that the club is now attracting fees, rather than losing key players for free. I just wish we could have had him for one more season.
  20. Although it was before my era, I’m aware of what an exceptional player Tony Hateley was. His talent hasn’t been inherited by his family, but it’s nice to see that he had a grandson who carried on the family name.
  21. The higher the sales, the more beneficial the funds can be utilised. It’s fantastic to witness the numbers rising again, similar to Lifeline which is now full and has a waiting list. At least there’s no queue to secure your seat.
  22. Hello, @TimB. Welcome to PON! First commitment is to register, I hope you have time to contribute.
  23. Websites indeed require strong teams, and bringing on additional members when necessary can be a real boon. So, hats off to @Piethagoram and @Fan of Big Tone. It’s heartening to see two individuals step up just when PON needs assistance the most.
  24. Hello @Scotty. Welcome to PON.
  25. Hello @Pies79. Welcome to PON.
