  1. Wise words from Luke Williams. It’s going to be a long season, and at least this time around we are prepared to make the players work for their places in the squad. It’s good that we have all four areas of the pitch covered, although there is a slight belief that we may require someone to rival Adam Chicksen and perhaps another quicker centre-back.
  2. I bet those Twitter users who voted for him to leave the platform now regret doing so, as he’s having the last laugh by driving everyone else out. It won’t kill Twitter, but it will have a big knock-on effect, and I have read stories about people deactivating their accounts in droves. Elon Musk has created a negative place for a negative social network. He’s doing a fantastic job.
  3. I went for a few drinks on Saturday, not more and not less. I had a nice evening, then came back to some proper English food. I didn’t get a kebab or go on a bender. On Sunday, I relaxed and sat watching TV. Surprisingly, I enjoyed watching the films that I found.
  4. You can't help but feel a sense of euphoria over Notts County's triumphant return to the Football League. The team's determination and the support of the fans led to the end of their four-year absence from tier football. This is more than just a welcome return; it's a metaphorical rebirth.
  5. It should be a good run-out for both teams. What I look forward to seeing in friendlies is how the players link and communicate with each other. It will also be interesting to see if Luke Williams mixes up the tactics and formation, or if he sticks with the 5-4-1 formation. And who will be the main striker? It’s got to be Macaulay Langstaff.
  6. I’ve also subscribed to your blog. I used to frequently read members’ blogs, such as those by @Piethagoram, @Chris, and @DangerousSausage. Good luck, @TheSkipper.
  7. Greetings @BigTom91, welcome to PON. Enjoy!
  8. Greetings @JackMagpie95, welcome to the PON site. Enjoy!
  9. Mick Vinter's passing is a heartbreaking loss for the Notts County community. As a player, he was renowned for his physicality and goal-scoring abilities, which made him a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. His time at the club was marked by impressive performances and significant contributions to the team's success. Vinter's commitment to the club extended beyond his playing days, as he stayed involved in coaching and charitable work. His impact and presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by the fans and the club.
  10. Thrilled with Luke Williams' focus on integration and adaptation for the new arrivals. Building a strong relationship between new and existing players is key to the team's success.
  11. Fantastic news for Notts! Nemane's contract extension is well-deserved. He’s a game-changer.
  12. Good luck to Frank Vincent. I think he could have done a job here, but with the players we have, his time would always be limited. He should start regularly for Dagenham & Redbridge.
  13. It’s great to have Aaron Nemane for another 2 years. I think he’s a superb asset, and I felt he would be on his way, but credit to Luke Williams for how he’s handled it. Anyone at the club involved in retaining Nemane deserves credit too; selling the club’s ambitions is a way forward.
  14. I understand that people will want to talk about it and that points of view will differ. However, I stand by my comments that complaining about some small red text on the back of the shirt is pointless. If fans are actively looking to be outraged, then they are just as bad as those who are overly sensitive. i.e woke and Karen types.
  15. Off the top of my head, I can add Alex Rodman, Greg Tempest, Cieron Keane, Tyrell Waite, Elliott Whitehouse, and good old Jim Rodwell. Do I get any bonus points for Devon Kelly-Evans, the brother of Dion?
  16. That sounds very well and fair. However, it seems like you would accept it for what it is. My point is that those who campaign to change it are being typically negative just because of a little bit of red text.
  17. I would understand the complaints if a logical and rational reason could be given, other than the colour red. Those complaining are probably the first to suck up to Forest when we’re getting loan players from them, and then the first to call them out when we don’t. It’s not a reason to be upset, and if these fans choose not to buy the shirt because a sponsor has red text, then so be it. Plenty of others will. I can’t imagine hearing a valid argument as to why it shouldn’t be on our shirt. It’s unconnected to Forest; it’s just a colour. What’s the big deal?
  18. This has to be a loan deal. If it turned out to be a permanent deal, I would wonder if we’re ever going to give younger talent the chance to come through.
  19. He’s being linked with Grimsby Town, which might be a better fit. If Chesterfield doesn’t go for him, they’re mad. He did very well for them and helped them secure third place. Without him and some of the other key Chesterfield players, I don’t think this finish would have been likely. https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grimsby-bidding-war-solihull-dallas-8088831
  20. Reaching 6,000 season ticket sales is doable, but in a cost of living crisis, I think it might be a bit harder than usual. Notts needs to keep pushing it.
  21. It’s the same every season. How hard can it be to say that we need the shirts by a certain point and make sure they can go on sale before the last home friendly game? This does make fans more eager to buy them, which means they sell out faster. The only positive I see is that we’re not being asked to pre-order the shirts this time around.
  22. This is great to see; it’s good to know PON is being picked up by PON. Even though we, as a community, have had a few quiet days, this is because Notts has been themselves. I think the articles with fans are a neat idea, and I encourage more of them to come.
  23. Matt Palmer is a credit to the club; he could still easily be playing in League One. I have no doubt about it. The map in the original post, I don’t doubt. He’s all over the place and rarely puts a foot wrong.
  24. I think we have to move on and forget about Aaron Nemane until he has made his decision. I would be disappointed to see him move on, but we don’t know exactly what’s going on. There might be unknown reasons behind him not making up his mind, or he could be torn as to what decision to make.
  25. Welcome to PON, @NottsCountyKev. It's nice to see you have shared some information about yourself.
