  1. England’s performance was significantly better, easily the best of the tournament. However, there were still moments where we fell a bit short. The defence seemed more comfortable and improved, although Switzerland’s goal was a disappointment. It was a quality break by them. John Stones could have performed better. I don’t blame Kyle Walker, but perhaps he should have been positioned in front of the Swiss scorer and made a greater effort to block the goal. Bukayo Saka’s goal was a stunner! What a response from England, they really pushed and elevated their game. The match felt more like a duel between two teams that were both trying their best. The ending on penalties was nerve-wracking, but our players took their penalties with such calmness.
  2. I’m not claiming to be an expert in politics, but the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) system does have the potential to create a robust and steady government. However, it can be disadvantageous for smaller parties. The problem with smaller parties is that they might lack the experience or have Members of Parliament (MPs) who are capable enough to lead a country. There’s a reason why Labour and the Conservative Party are the two main parties, with the Liberal Democrats being reasonably close behind. Smaller parties should concentrate on performing well in the areas they represent, while striving to improve in areas where they can. I don’t see many issues with the UK’s political voting system.
  3. I’m hopeful that we’ll begin with a robust team, showcasing all the new recruits and fielding what we perceive to be our premier squad. It would be interesting to observe their performance as a unit in the initial 45 minutes, followed by strategic alterations in the second half. While I wouldn’t form any conclusions based on the friendly match, as it’s merely a practice run, I believe it would be beneficial to give the potential starting lineup some early playtime together, barring the inclusion of all the new signings. Rod McDonald and Curtis Edwards may not currently be viewed as starters by some, but it would be insightful to see how they fare in what could be our optimal lineup.
  4. Hello Super Ram, are you alright? Please don’t feel down. We all miss your wise remarks here and it would brighten our day to hear from you again. If you need to talk or share something, feel free to send me a private message. We’re here for you.

Here on PON, Super, you’re among friends. Don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us. We’d be more than happy to chat, and I know that Clifton, Liam, and I all look forward to reading your comments. Remember, you’re not alone. As I always say, here you’re with everyone.

  5. I cast my vote, but I’m not convinced it will have a significant impact overall. I hope it will make a difference eventually, but the winner of the vote faces a tough task that may not please everyone.
  6. Is he going to battle for his starting position or depart to a team where he’s likely to be a regular starter? It hinges on how earnest St Johnstone is, but it would be logical. If he stays here, I hope he can demonstrate to everyone that he’s a competent player and would thrive with the right teammates. If he departs, I hope the transfer fee is justified and will be used to recruit another centre-back.
  7. Hello, @lucy80. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a member of PON.
  8. Hello, @TimB. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a member of PON.
  9. I’ve not seen any solid evidence yet. I’m certain that if there was any news, someone here would have spotted it. So, for now, let’s consider it as just rumours. We need to wait for an official announcement. Until then, I don’t have much to add. I just think Tiernan Brooks is a promising player and sitting on the bench or being loaned out isn’t doing him any good.
  10. I recall when we had just over 2,000 season ticket holders and there were many grumbles about the cost. We all feared that the National League would be detrimental, but in my view and experience, it’s been one of the best developments. That, and the arrival of the Reedtz brothers! I wish we had managed to turn things around before being relegated, but it did prompt the club to reassess things, even under new ownership. Notts has made a significant turnaround and with players like Macaulay Langstaff, Jodi Jones and others, fans are undoubtedly thrilled and feel a stronger connection to the club. It’s fantastic to see that we’ve sold a substantial number of tickets so far.
  11. Notts might need to adopt a personalised approach with their cups, similar to what Starbucks and Costa do. This could involve intentionally writing incorrect names on people’s cups. It’s a quirky practice that adds a touch of humour and individuality to each cup.
  12. This is dreadful news. Already, there are three confirmed fatalities, and the massive storm is affecting people in numerous ways. It’s heartbreaking to witness the destructive power of nature. Hurricane Beryl appears to be quite horrific.
  13. If you’re planning to visit The Nest for one of these premium events, don’t forget to bring a collapsible umbrella. Be prepared to open it at a moment’s notice, especially when a goal seems imminent. But if you’re attending an England game, there’s no need to worry. The chances of needing an umbrella are quite low. Of course, I’m only jesting. After all, who wants to resemble Steve McLaren watching an England match?
  14. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Bertinez.
  15. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @i961pie.
  16. Oh, give over! I might have mentioned once or twice that I wouldn’t mind him returning. I might have commented on his good performances or goals for Hartlepool. I might have even used his picture as my display picture and on Twitter. But that doesn’t mean I’m not chuffed. I’m glad he’s found a club, and I hope he does well for them.
  17. The home shirt seems nice to me, and I’m quite pleased with the design. The club has demonstrated some creativity with this concept, which might not be fully appreciated. However, when we eventually return to a more traditional look, it will feel fresh. I commend the club for trying something different once again.
  18. Hello, @BiggestPieInGlasgow. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. You'll see we ayre a friendly bunch, if you have any questions or anything, don't be put off from asking a team member. We'll be happy to advise or assist.
  19. Five years show how much better the club is because, under different regimes, Connell Rawlinson would have left sooner. Not because he didn't do well; I think he was solid in his first season and did well in his second. The club would have just moved on from the plan, signed a different player, and never allowed more than a handful to settle. Rawlo is a great guy, and I’m very thankful we had him and gave him last season. I hope he finds a club that will respect him and get the best out of what he offers.
  20. They are flourishing as a footballing nation, playing very well and showing no fear. Their current world ranking counts for nothing, as it will be higher thanks to this competition. They deserve credit for the way they played, just as much as England does for turning it around when it seemed all over. We can hope for a better performance against Switzerland.
  21. Today showed we have better in-form players who deserve to be there ahead of Jack Grealish. Personally, I think his partying spirit has affected his game, not Manchester City. He should be making a big impact but is now failing to even make their team.
  22. Should Connell Rawlinson peruse the messages sent his way, we hope he realises the depth of our gratitude as supporters. Any negative comments are overshadowed by the expressions of thanks for his contributions as a Notts player. He was a defender who consistently put in a strong effort. His dedication will be the lasting memory we hold of him.
  23. Connell Rawlinson has had a commendable stint with Notts, stepping up when we needed someone to fight for the team. He’s shown bravery, often putting himself at risk. It’s unfortunate to see him go, but the timing seems right. I hope he finds a new club that suits him well.
  24. ‘Bang-a-bonk’ is a term I will not come across again in my lifetime. The ‘bang’ portion does lend it a somewhat cheeky connotation, doesn’t it?
  25. I sincerely hope that Notts doesn’t impose high prices on our loyal supporters. It would be beneficial to keep things accessible and gradually ensure that Notts owns all the food stalls. However, these stalls should be operated by independent individuals. This approach could generate more revenue, rather than just taking a percentage of the earnings for the space occupied. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
