When a supporter can articulate why they believe he needs to leave, rather than just uttering nonsense, it seems more reasonable when you understand their viewpoint. For those who merely write “Maynard out” or a few words, it’s difficult to comprehend their perspective or how they arrived at their decision, apart from the fact that we keep losing matches. I understand the frustration with the current form, but I don’t think we’d be any better off dismissing Stuart Maynard, and Neil Warnock isn’t the solution. He dreamt of managing in Scotland, yet he cut his time there short, and I’m aware of the rumour that it’s because he’s coming here, but that’s a long shot. Warnock would only be a temporary fix, and we need a long-term one. I believe allowing Maynard to use this time to work things out will make him a better manager. Luke Williams never seemed likely to sort out the defence, but he did exceptionally well in boosting the players. We’re not at risk of relegation, so getting out pitchforks and berating the players and head coach only makes us look bad as supporters. Last season was the happiest campaign for me, even though some of our fan base wasn’t pleased because we didn’t win the league, but they soon quieted down when we achieved promotion via Wembley. At the end of the comment, have faith in our owners and let them carry out their plans.

PON has always fostered a sense of unity. It’s heartening to see people transition from being shy to fully participating. When this happens, it’s a sign that things are moving in the right direction. During our early journeys, @liampie, @TheSkipper, and I discussed how we could foster a stronger bond, not just among us, but within the community as a whole. We’ve been lucky to have been cared for, so we make it a point to look after others as a necessity. There have been many highs and lows, which have brought most people closer together. That’s when we’re at our strongest. When we saw the surge of returning members, especially @Fan of Big Tone, the importance of this became even clearer.

If we don’t take care of each other, who will take care of PON? That’s the essence of a community. I hope you get well soon @Piethagoram. I didn’t know you were ill until I read this, but I can confidently say I hope for your speedy recovery.

At the 90-minute point, I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be our day. Regrettably, we lost our focus and fell to a rather weak Wimbledon team. I didn’t hear any jeering directed at the players, only at the officials. Those around me were vocal in their criticism and made their feelings clear. On a different day, we might have scored two or three goals. A goal for Notts could have completely changed the game. I don’t believe it would have ended in a draw if we had taken the lead. However, we need to improve our defence at the moment. This situation is leaving Stuart Maynard with very little support, but it’s crucial that the club remains united.

Taking a break is beneficial, but it’s the return that really counts. It’s comforting to have an online space to call home and to know there are folks who value and missed me. I’m back now, so let’s get on with it.

I’ve not departed or given up on PON, and I’ll be returning shortly. I’m aware there’s some worry about my absence, but don’t worry, carry on. When I return, I’m eager to rekindle connections with my friends here.

There’s a noticeable difference when Sam Austin is part of the team. Ideally, we need to find a way to include him where he can be most effective. His urgency off the bench is commendable, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t start games. Stuart Maynard should consider this, as Austin’s energy is often unparalleled.

I agree with what the manager has said, it’s crucial we’re aware of Crewe and what they might do during the match. Personally, I believe focusing on using the ball effectively and defending with alertness would give us a stronger mindset. I’m sure this is the plan, but if we can use the ball effectively and perform to the standard we’ve seen at times this season, then we could put the match out of reach by being clinical on goal. Making that happen is just a matter of letting things fall into place. Regardless, Crewe will be a tough opponent, but I trust our players to deliver on home ground.

I believe we’ve reached a stage where we need to focus on earning the necessary points. We’re safe, Notts won’t be relegated, but once the playoffs are out of reach, it might be time to start integrating some young players. Of course, at this point, there’s still plenty of hope to pursue the playoffs. Newport will face an equal amount of pressure, but they’ll likely have a better mindset due to their form. Notts needs to stay focused, shake off any distractions, and ensure no nerves set in. In terms of performance, it’s not crucial as long as we can secure the win. The players have everything they need to achieve this, they just need to believe in themselves and work hard.

Not securing three points will result in remarks about us lacking drive, more negativity towards Stuart Maynard when in reality we are still adjusting to life after Luke Williams. It’s not a straightforward situation, but the match will give us hope to return to victorious ways. Our mindset needs to be on achieving the result but provided the performance is solid. I would be content personally. It should be another good match, if we can involve Macaulay Langstaff more and concentrate less on trying to dribble the ball into the opposition’s net, we might create better opportunities overall.

Stone 7 - He appeared much more confident and made some decent saves. Overall, very dependable. Warner 7 - He slotted in quite well, seemed organised and conscious of the threat. Big match for him to make his first appearance for Notts. Baldwin 8* - Player of the Match all day, excellent fighting spirit and defence. Cameron 5 - Weak on the ball, lacked awareness but did some good things. I just feel his mind wasn’t in the match and the poor contributions affect his overall score. Nemane 5 - Mansfield was never going to let him play his usual game and he suffered for that, but no further ideas or effort made him seem pointless. Robertson 7 - Best performance by him so far, his relentless pressing and eagerness to move forward was a delight. Bostock 5 - Not his best match, felt he lost the ball a bit easily and failed to hold his ground against them. Cowley 6.5 - He did alright, nothing to his usual standards but he connected well and tried to make things happen. Jones 7 - Brilliant play, very direct and suffered from a lack of protection from the officials which led to him being kicked and pushed around all match. Despite this, he did very well. McGoldrick 6.5 - I thought he was better than his performance against Barrow, but still below the standard we know. He didn’t pose much of a threat. Langstaff 5 - Lacked involvement but it wasn’t so much down to him, it was a failure to get the ball to him.

He might suit our system better than at his previous clubs. We hope that being part of a team aiming for promotion will motivate him. There’s no real risk with injury, as we can return him if it occurs. Ideally, we would have considered this and concluded that he can offer more than the signing implies. Let’s see how he performs, he might fit in well.

This is an interesting read. I hadn’t heard much about Jack Peart before. I think I might have seen a post about him shared by PON on social media, but this article provides a good insight.

I admit that I should use the follow function more than I currently do. I believe raising awareness about it is crucial, and I hope others start using it more. I need to ensure that I follow all the active contributors, as I want to support their work.

I still think we can make it to the playoffs. It’s a challenging time for Stuart Maynard to understand the squad, but it will be a valuable learning experience for him. These games are crucial for our future direction. I’m relieved that we’re just a few points away from safety. I had hoped we could compete more closely for automatic promotion, but I feel injuries have hindered us. If we can defeat either Wrexham or Mansfield, it could boost our confidence. From there, we might improve our form enough to increase our points lead over the teams below us. Ideally, I hope this is achievable. I believe it is, but we need to stay focused.

There was a lot of curiosity about who Stuart Maynard would pick, but I can see why he started with Aidan Stone and Richard Brindley. The rest of the players are automatic choices for our team, and no one on the bench has shown they should be starting based on their form in games. I watched our new loan goalkeeper warm up, and he seemed very capable during shooting practice. I believe Jaden Warner could strengthen the defence, but he might have to wait his turn.

I can’t understand how any referee could see that challenge as only deserving a yellow card. The player went straight through Jodi Jones, with no attempt to play the ball. The challenge was from behind, which is known to increase the risk of injury. The speed at which both players were running made it extremely dangerous. Luca Stephenson is fortunate that Jones didn’t exaggerate the impact of the challenge, because if he had, I think the referee would have taken longer to decide. This says more about us than them.

It’s a lovely picture of Meadow Lane from the past, which looks very different now. You can spot the standing areas that are now the KOP. The ground is still recognisable, and it’s interesting to see how the area has changed.

We must remember that Stuart Maynard has all the resources he needs to succeed in his role, with the Reedtz ensuring he has everything necessary. The coaching team is superior to many at this level. His tactics and coaching style should start to show as we play more games, but we’re still a few matches away from seeing the complete picture. I wish fans would support him and wait to see the outcome. I firmly believe that Maynard will prove his worth. His introduction at Meadow Lane was a nice touch. Let’s rally behind him.

I’m happy with the new signing. He seems robust and exactly what we need. If he were older and had more experience with Norwich or had been loaned out, fans might not be concerned about his lack of experience. A good player can compensate for that, and at our level, he should be able to contribute effectively. He appears to be very defensively focused, which is welcome in a young player, despite hopes of signing someone more experienced.

We should indeed give more game time to promising youngsters like James Sanderson. They can only improve with experience and by playing alongside skilled players. Our midfield should be a gold mine for such a young player, with the likes of Jim O’Brien, David McGoldrick, Matt Palmer, Sam Austin, Jodi Jones, and John Bostock. Best of luck to him!
