  1. If a 3 game defeated run is the worst this season has to offer, then it will have shown we learned from the situation. Notts needs to start picking more points up, especially away from home. Meadow Lane could become a fortress for us if we play hard enough.
  2. I just hope Southend doesn't become another Bury, all the big clubs allowed to operate with massive debts and its the smaller clubs [their fans] that suffer when things like this goes wrong.
  3. A bit different from the usual way teams park the bus, Hungary had a game plan.
  4. Millwall 3-2 Luton Town Nottingham Florist 1-1 Blackpool Joker Cambridge United 0-3 Ipswich Town Fleetwood Town 1-0 Crewe Alexandra Lincoln City 0-2 Charlton Athletic Bradford City 2-1 Bristol Rovers Crawley Town 0-0 Sutton United Exeter City 1-0 Newport County
  5. Can any fan really hate on any of the current players? It seems daft to me. Probably just due to the three games where Notts struggled and people needed someone to blame. Notts fans are good at pointing the finger.
  6. Worth sharing in here. https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/nottingham-news/residents-fears-over-plans-former-6054367
  7. Patterson Brindley Brennan Cameron Chicksen Vincent Nemane O'Brien Rodrigues Roberts Mitchell I think we should be fine to allow Wootton to sit this one out, leave him on the bench if we must but priority needs to be on the league fixtures. If Taylor is fit, start him ahead of Chicksen but from what I have read it seems unlikely that he will be able to make the start. Palmer is another player who I would like to see reserved for the league, as we don't want to risk anything happening to him as he's best midfielder at Notts right now.
  8. Why did Notts only zoom in after the goal had been scored, like we want to see the celebration more than the actual goal. At least the second goal is slightly clearer.
  9. I would like us to keep both if possible, Sunderland might not want him to play second fiddle but there is a chance Notts could rotate him in at times in order to avoid injury or inconsistency with Slocombe. Brennan is fine as a rotational player, with Rawlinson returning and Lacey too. I think it's important to have cover just in case.
  10. Lacey and Cameron all day if its just two CB's, otherwise it's fine to throw Rawlinson into the mix. In goal, Notts has to choose Slocombe who is a much more rounded keeper but I do like Patterson, and I hope Sunderland allows him to remain here on loan.
  11. I regularly eat apples, bananas, grapes, oranges and pineapple [I prefer fresh pineapple over canned].
  12. Wishing @GrannyPie and @super_ram all the best, I hope GP manages to get home soon enough. The hospital is the best place for her though, get to full strength and come back stronger Granny.
  13. A lot of people on the outside will call Clifton, but its actually a very nice place to live and its firmly on the up. All the work with the tram line, the uni and other projects is putting even more life into Clifton. I hadn't seen the article before, but as a Clifton lad its a good read.
  14. Lacey, Cameron, Rawlinson and Slocombe are all crucial players, Notts needs them and I will be pleased to see the club go back to full strength. It's good that Burchnall acted fast to bring in the loans, I think these need extending if possible. Just to have that cover if needed, it also allows the occasional rotation.
  15. Seeing out games is something I think the squad will get better at, what with players returning. Provided we keep a strong defence, I think the worries should be over. I am glad Notts managed to get the 2-0 win. By all means it could've been more goals for Notts, but the job was done which is all that matters.
  16. Its as if the players get to a certain minute and think the job is done, so they just switch off defensively. Its poor but it shows that we need players comfortable in the centre back positions, not left or right backs. 2-0, to 3-2 it shouldn't happen as easy as it did. Understandable the out cry of disappointment, but those calling for Ian Burchnall's head need to ask different questions. Once the players step onto the grass, it's down to them to do the basics. All his decisions made sense such as taking Ruben off. Why leave him on only to risk a red card?
  17. Ipswich Town 2-0 Shrewsbury Town Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Bolton Wanderers Barrow 1-3 Leyton Orient Hartlepool United 1-0 Northampton Town Mansfield Town 0-2 Oldham Athletic Boreham Wood 0-0 Dagenham & Redbridge Dover Athletic 0-1 Barnet Joker Wealdstone 2-0 Eastleigh
  18. I haven't, I have been working throughout and will wait for things to calm down before I go overseas.
  19. I remind myself that Sam Graham came with his clubs blessing, their fans highly rated him and the loan deal was hyped by Notts. So, I won't be paying attention to these types of comments. Its good the club has quickly acted to bring in a player, I think he looks like a good short term addition but even if he does well. It depends on his performances as to how we proceed once Kyle Cameron and Connell Rawlinson return. I agree with @Joshua, it looks like a short term thing but we will see.
  20. @DangerousSausage is right. Lower tier teams will always be open to considering him as manager, if not just to try to get his contacts in. I wonder how he would do with a team that had a good squad, with the ability to sign players. Then again would he turn defenders into midfielders?
  21. Part and parcel of being a skilful footballer, frustration will build but his booking against Maidenhead seemed weak to me. He was fouled, he protested and the assistant referee kept making the incorrect decision. It's not like he's getting sent off for it, as we had with Liam Noble. I think Ian Burchnall will try to speak and remind Cal Roberts that he needs to be calmer. I do expect him to pick these types of cards up from time to time.
  22. Squads are taking shape, I think some will stop signing players soon because I can't imagine them having the money to continue building. This might be the one area, where Notts having a fan base like ours helps the situation. Only player I am disappointed we missed out on is Whitfield. Then again, we have a lot of ex Torquay United players already.
