  1. I’m pleased that things ultimately turned out in our favour. It was frustrating to fall behind 2-0 so quickly, but Aden Baldwin did well to bring Notts back on level terms. I thought it made a lot of sense to bring Jodi Jones on for Adam Chicksen. He seemed motivated and eager to get on the ball.
  2. It's not often that you see a club owner actively cheering on a team they've been competing against for promotion. This kind of sportsmanship is rare and should be celebrated. It reflects well on the National League, Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds, and Notts County.
  3. @super_ram Not even Hollywood could have scripted what happened, it was just wild, crazy and quintessentially Notts County.
  4. Stall is a fantastic addition to the commentary team. I still miss Colin Slater, but Charlie is a good replacement for now. If he continues to be busy with Football Focus and other commitments, I hope we can find an even better replacement.
  5. I suspect that the reason he features more after coming on as a substitute is to discourage other clubs from wanting to sign him. However, I imagine there is still a lot of interest in his services. He would be an excellent signing for any League One or Two team. I don’t understand why Oxford can’t make use of him - it’s their loss and hopefully our gain. His performance against Boreham Wood will have significantly increased the appeal of signing him.
  6. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - it’s wonderful to have you back taking pictures. The Notts community is fortunate to have you capturing their reactions. This gallery is excellent! Well done, mate!
  7. Oh, I see now that you mentioned it earlier. I thought you were just teasing me with more revealing questions that others might notice. Points Table @Fozzy - 3 @super_ram - 1 The fifth round will commence tomorrow at 6 pm. I believe we have reached a stage in the game where we can introduce more structure. @Chris, would you be willing to share it on social media once I post the next round? Perhaps we can encourage more people to participate. Yes, you heard correctly. After a member correctly guesses, I will start announcing the times for the next round. I will also try to respond more promptly, but I won’t give away many clues at first. Why not join in the fifth round tomorrow? The time for the next round is mentioned above - it’s at 6 pm! @upthepies, @BromPie, @Joshua, @liampie, @4everapie, @gtownjohnno, @magpiejue, @DangerousSausage, @BESTpie, @thommo, @Piethagoram, @Richo, @Canadian, @Dripsey3, @ARLukomski, @MuddyPatchPie, @KB1862, @menzinho, @nottsnutter, @AmericanPie, @TheSkipper.
  8. It must have been traumatic for you to live in Nottingham while supporting Derby. Although Notts fans tend to like Derby supporters and there is a sense of unity between them, the presence of Woodward and armchair supporters who gloat, exaggerate Forest’s achievements, and pretend their support is superior to anyone who supports a different team can be challenging. You have my sympathy. I believe that your experiences have made you a better person than those who have been difficult.
  9. There was a lot of frustration with Notts. I thought we started poorly and that put us on the back foot. It was clear from early on that if Notts didn’t improve, Boreham Wood would cause trouble. They showed their threat early on and when they played football, they looked like a good team. Despite having one of the best defensive records in the National League, it was evident that they wanted to make it difficult. The questions Notts asked in the first half weren’t good enough. Boreham Wood engaged in a lot of negative antics such as diving, pushing, time-wasting and cheating. It didn’t reflect well on a team capable of technical, attractive football. It was a huge relief when the second half started brightly and Aden Baldwin’s first goal was pure class. Some fans near me had criticised his first-half performance but his strike was very good. Boreham Wood increased their theatrics and the referee became wise to it but could have stamped it out better by warning their players. Notts largely dominated the second half and time seemed to be running out before we finally equalised. Once Aden Baldwin scored his second goal, I felt confident that we could finish it off in the second half. A reminder to Boreham Wood fans: don’t chant early and don’t count your chickens when your defence becomes headless due to being dominated by a side fully capable of playing football.
  10. Please, @Fozzy. You’ve earned the praise and the point. Can you tell me who it is for my own sanity? We can’t move forward without an answer. I clearly need to become more cunning!
  11. Clifton, where I live, is predominantly Notts. At school, most people either didn’t support a club or liked Premier League teams. In Nottingham itself, it’s different. I’ve found groups of Forest fans to be the problem. Most are fine, but some are obsessed with the 80s and believe the city is only red. Since starting work, I don’t mind the banter because I can put them in their place. It doesn’t change that I’m a Nottingham lad supporting a Nottingham club. Some trouble causers in Forest don’t attend games or believe everyone born here should support Forest. It can be annoying but also funny. Has this always been the case? Have people at work or elsewhere ever tried to jokingly wind you up about supporting Notts?
  12. Welcome to the community @nottsfan81! Be sure to check out the topic feed and dashboard pages if you have time to comment. It's great to see another new member join us.
  13. @Chris, your graphics, illustrations and art are fantastic! I really appreciate your work here; the cover image is outstanding and deserves far more engagement than it has received so far. It’s simply on another level of excellence. Well done!
  14. Welcome back to the community @Canadian! It’s great to see you again. PON has some brilliant discussions that you may find useful as an exile. We’re glad to have you back with us!
  15. I’m excited for the upcoming National League playoff match between Notts County and Boreham Wood. It’s crucial that Notts County focuses on creating chances and avoids allowing Boreham Wood to force them to defend for extended periods on their home soil. It’s likely that Notts County will press and cause trouble for Boreham Wood, but I hope this doesn’t lead to errors at the back. I’m particularly keen to see Jodi Jones start, as he has the ability to take the game to the opposition better than most of our players. Alongside him, Arron Nemane, Adam Chicksen and Ruben Rodrigues will also be key aspects of the team. I believe Notts County has a good chance of winning the match, provided they maintain their focus on creating chances and avoiding defensive lapses. I’m excited to see how the team performs and hope for an entertaining and competitive game.
  16. Thank you for your encouraging words and support. It’s great to know that you have good memories of Meadow Lane and Notts County. We’re optimistic about our chances of being promoted to League Two and we agree that Macaulay Langstaff is a fantastic striker. We appreciate your well wishes for our game against Boreham Wood on Sunday. We’ll give it our all!
  17. Macaulay Langstaff has been an incredible signing and player for Notts County. If he can help get us promoted, he will be one of the quickest legends that the club has ever had. He shines Notts County through and through.
  18. I’m crossing all of my fingers and come Sunday, I’ll be wearing my lucky socks, boxers and shirt. Let’s hope for the best!
  19. Every season it seems like we might lose Ruben. It appears that his time here is almost certainly coming to an end. However, there is a chance that he may renew his contract based on his enjoyment of football, being settled and possibly a slightly better new contract. The signings this season have been smart and added extra quality. However, when the club loaned in Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, I felt that we actually needed a defender to come in due to all the injuries. Perhaps the coaching staff and Luke Williams thought Aden Baldwin and Richard Brindley would return sooner than later. Nevertheless, I would have preferred the gamble on a defender. This season has been excellent and our recruitment leaves me less worried about players leaving. I believe we can identify replacements and find a way to keep moving forward. My biggest concern comes from the playoffs, which leads me to agree that the defence needs improving next season. I would like depth and quality all over. I know it's a luxury at this level and money may be tight, but I do think it brings in results.
  20. I'm convinced that you're the only one who knows who the player is. Despite the massive clue, no one else has guessed it. You're incredibly good at this game. I'll leave the clue there for a bit longer, but please reveal the answer at some point. Next time, I'll be more subtle like a sneaky fox. Thanks!
  21. I’m not familiar with all of Derby County’s players, but it’s interesting to note that both of his names can be considered first names.
  22. Welcome @Kelly and @Prodigal Red, to the Pride of Nottingham website. ????????
  23. I’m going for it! I’ll have to make the challenges more difficult because you’re too good at this, @Fozzy! I have a feeling that by the 10th round, you’ll have about half of the answers, if not more. Keep up the great work!
  24. Come on, this game was always going to be massive. From the moment the fixtures were released and we were top, to Wrexham taking the lead and us reclaiming first place, it was building to this point. It has to be the best away game of the season. Just because we lost doesn't change that. How quickly did it sell out? Easily the best away game of the National League 22-23.
