  1. Will things improve with two games at Meadow Lane? I hope so. I think it could stay tense until we get three points, and the performances need to be good enough to make that happen unless something changes soon. It’s starting to look like it could be a tough season, but it’s still very early. There’s time to turn things around. Defend from the back, lead from the front. That’s the way forward.
  2. A win on Saturday would be a great way to get the season going. Newport felt like two points dropped, but at the same time we did well to rescue one against a side that defended strongly. I’m hoping Salford are feeling the pressure after their defeat. If we’ve done our homework and the players are told to stay close to the ones who make things happen, we could get a good result.
  3. You’ve got to laugh really, because everyone messes up sometimes. But the BBC seems to do it all the time now. It used to feel like it was made for everyday British people. Now it’s full of stuff that feels negative and messy, just like how things have changed in the UK lately.
  4. I like Lewis Macari. He's a good young player with promise, and it’s a shame if he has been betting. I hope, for his sake and ours, he doesn’t get banned.
  5. Trying out players on trial can help the head coach or manager see where they might fit in. It’s a good way to spot what a player offers and whether they bring something different to the group. People often get caught up in finding like-for-like replacements. But sometimes, a player with different qualities can change how the team plays for the better.
  6. The success of Denmark’s Under-21s might have made Notts think again, and maybe the new head coach was their back-up plan. But I don’t really believe that’s how it played out. You’d hope people would give the new man a fair shot. It’s only right to see what he can do before rushing to judge.
  7. Agent Trev makes up a lot of things. Every now and then, something might turn out to be true, but most of the time it's just nonsense. He's really not worth paying attention to. Some people used to think it was just a Notts fan having a laugh and trying to cause a stir.
  8. Happy Birthday @Fan of Big Tone. 🎂
  9. The key to academies is consistency and high standards. Training prospects but not giving them enough time won’t develop talented young professionals. It only helps bigger clubs when they start looking for new talent.
  10. Both players had a fantastic season. David McGoldrick will be greatly missed.
  11. I still remember watching the Moorer fight. Everyone counted him out, but he shocked the world. Rest in peace, legend.
  12. Brilliant result against a team that can make games difficult despite their league position. We have to be happy with the three points.
