  1. This is a beneficial team-building activity that the squad, not just the fans, should be excited about. It’s merely a run-out and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. It will be intriguing to see how we stack up against a German team, even if they aren’t high up in their league system. It’s a good friendly match to have before the start of a new season.
  2. Meadow Lane has always been a fantastic spot for fans. The older stands might look a bit unsafe, but in their heyday, they would have been incredible to see filled to capacity. The changes were necessary, but at least the club modernised and improved the ground in the 90s.
  3. Once Notts is in League One, it’s crucial to establish a proper reserve team and give it time to develop. This is partly why young professionals often get sent out on loan. A proper development/reserve team also assists first-team players who are on the verge of starting, need match fitness, or are returning from injury. This will provide young players with game time, importantly alongside senior squad members. I understand why we don’t have this in League Two, but it must be initiated once we’re back in League One. It would create a pathway for young talent to get noticed. A league structure is far more rewarding than random games against local teams.
  4. I’m in agreement with @liam. Unless there’s a robust alternative for Gareth Southgate, I’m uncertain about the merit of any changes. Ultimately, the decision rests with the FA. Supporters should hope that Gareth Southgate is better prepared to field the appropriate players.
  5. My heart belongs to Notts, through and through. While I hold a deep affection for my country and the national team, my allegiance is with my club. England is not short of fervent supporters, but my county needs my backing.
  6. A former Derby academy player, Kellan Gordon did well at Crawley and now has the chance to progress with us. I'm very pleased with this signing by Notts. He could have easily stayed in League One.
  7. Great performance. We've improved a lot in the group stage, and the way the Netherlands set up to play allowed us to match them. It was a fully deserved win with many good chances. Both teams did their best to make the most of the opportunities. Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins are brilliant squad players who take their chances.
  8. I’ve heard that he scored and played well. It’s difficult to judge based on just one friendly match, but it will be intriguing to see if he stays on trial against some of the tougher teams. He was accompanied by Elliot Thorpe, a former Spurs academy player who previously played for Luton Town.
  9. Alex Kirk was the trialist who scored the goal, wasn’t he? The other player is Elliot Thorpe, who used to be part of Spurs academy and is a former Luton player. I’m sure the match provided the insight we needed. We still need to make a few signings, so the result doesn’t really matter at this point.
  10. I’m pleased that we’re now at the beginning of the pre-season. Hopefully, Stuart Maynard will be able to share his thoughts on how the squad is shaping up, so we can make further improvements before the new campaign starts.
  11. Appointing Matt Palmer makes more sense, he should have been given the role from the start. The decision to change captains resulted in us losing one player and potentially a second who was likely to attract bids. I’m pleased for Palmer; I believe he will perform well in the role. I have no doubt that a quiet person can maintain their composure in moments when others might lose theirs. Just because he’s quiet doesn’t mean he won’t inspire the players.
  12. The role should go to Cedwyn Scott, unless the club is actively seeking a replacement for Macaulay Langstaff. It would be more fitting to give the role to his best mate.
  13. I would have bet on Matt Palmer being named captain. Not all captains need to be loud, and I’m sure he will lead the squad to a high standard, just like his performances.
  14. I manage to visit the seaside 4-5 times a year @Fan of Big Tone, typically for a week, but it’s also easy enough to escape the city life over the weekends. I do enjoy being in coastal areas, particularly when the weather is warm. However, when the internet connection is unreliable, it can make you feel a bit cut off. Not that spending some time offline is a bad thing, it just becomes a nuisance during the transfer period and when there’s general news about the club.
  15. I wish him the best of luck. It’s a fantastic move and I hope it works out well for him.
  16. I have a feeling that some fans might choose to skip the game now. However, it should be thrilling to see how the new signings perform. It should be a good match, it’s just unfortunate that Macaulay Langstaff won’t be part of it. If he had been, it might have instilled some confidence.
  17. I’m in need of some inspiration at the moment. I feel like a balloon that’s losing air and barely staying afloat.
  18. It’s going to take a while to get past the disappointment. I don’t think many clubs would have made a player captain knowing he would eventually be sold. It doesn’t look good from that standpoint, even though we all knew this day would come. I support Notts, and those in charge are just trying to manage things. In a few weeks, I hope to feel more positive about this, but I can’t shake the feeling that Notts made a mistake here, both in terms of the fee paid and how they built up fans’ excitement for the upcoming season.
  19. We must deal with the disappointment and negative emotions, but Notts has certainly mishandled this situation. They must be aware that fans will be deeply affected and it unfairly toys with our hopes, which they should never do. The fact that we will eventually move on doesn’t justify their actions, but we will indeed move on. Notts will undoubtedly overlook how they managed this situation.
  20. It’s unlikely we’ll see another player quite like Macaulay Langstaff, but his contributions and memories will continue to live on. It’s heartbreaking to see such a gifted player leave, but he’s earned this opportunity. He’s worked incredibly hard for both Notts and Gateshead. It’s hard to deny him this chance, and I can only hope that one day he’ll look back on his time with us as the highlight of his career.
  21. One problem with modern football is that every transfer fee is undisclosed, leaving us to wonder if the club got a good deal for the young player. From Lucien Mahovo’s point of view, he must be thrilled. The move is very promising for a 19-year-old. I hope he doesn’t end up sidelined but instead makes his presence felt. He might be loaned out before Norwich City gives him a chance.
  22. I viewed the match in a bustling pub in Skegness, and the atmosphere was quite jovial. I didn’t pick up on any grumbles about the performance. Naturally, there was some disappointment when we conceded a goal, but that’s par for the course. Immediately after that, I heard remarks such as ‘here we go’, ‘England can bounce back’, and ‘the team won’t surrender’, which indicated a positive sentiment among the fans. I concur that the performance was superior to previous games. More shots on target are indeed necessary, but we must also ensure that our top players are in the starting line-up.
  23. I believe this is a matter that requires careful consideration. Being a British citizen shouldn’t automatically grant the right to remain in our country, especially when serious crimes have been committed. His citizenship could be revoked, but it might depend on whether he emerges as a reformed individual. I’m all for offering someone a second chance. He might have been under pressure, leading to a series of unfortunate events. If he manages to lead a better life upon release, then it’s acceptable. Otherwise, we shouldn’t have to tolerate his presence in the UK.
  24. No, it’s clear he wanted to move on. With some fans now revealing their true colours on social media by criticising Kyle Cameron, it makes you wonder what he had to deal with last season as the captain. The manager [head coach] and the skipper are often the easy targets when form dips. All these fans now claiming he was never good enough for League Two, I find it somewhat disrespectful because one season doesn’t define a player. It’s typical of football fans, I’m not referring to those who provide reasoning behind their thoughts, but more to those who verge on making abusive comments.
  25. With Kyle Cameron’s loan departure, there’s a void that needs filling. If we could secure a right-footed centre-back, our defence might be in a decent state. Having two would offer more depth, but can we really avoid having squad fillers at this point? If Macaulay Langstaff departs, we could certainly use another striker. However, I wouldn’t oppose giving Junior Morias a chance to compete against Jatta and Cedwyn Scott. A younger player who can step in when needed might be a good option. That said, even before all this, I felt we definitely needed another midfielder. So, there’s still work to be done.
