Jokes, Cartoons & Memes. It's the Laughter Corner.
My neighbour and his wife are splitting Up. She told him she was Fed up of him putting Sport before Her. All the Time she says it's Sport This and Sport That, she's just had Enough of it. He said it was a Shame because they'd been together for what ? 13 Seasons Now.

Could the Current Squad Compete in League One?
NO. This current Squad wouldn't I .M.H.O Survive in League 1 as it's been stated in the Comments, apart from the odd player the Squad would have to be completely Revamped. Jones, Jatta, Palmer, Robertson, Dennis, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Platt , Macari would form part of the Squad. I'm Not a Big Fan of Loanees either, as it's been quoted Notts will get them for a season, then it's Thankyou off you Pop back to your Parent Club. Two of the Most Important Posts within the Playing Staff, a Vastly Experienced Head Coach and a Captain and Leader On The Pitch, something the Magpies have been lacking in recent seasons. Notts has a Club need to also (whisper it) Bring On It's Own Talent from it's Own Academy. But of course the Biggest Problem for a Newly Promoted Notts, would be Money. Players will expect a Pay rise, New Experienced EFL Players would have to be Bought and Paid a Decent Wage, and the Higher a Team Climbs the Football Pyramid, the more it's going to cost, and the Club will come to Realize they can't keep relying on Loanees and Free Agents. But that is something to think about at least for another season, because I Don't Think Notts will get Promoted this Season. Always Happy To Be Proven Wrong.

Dickie Bird RIP
Wheelbarrow repair man replied to Piethagoram's topic in The Sports Stage: Everything Outside of FootballOne Quote I read regarding Dickies Passing. An England Legend, without ever scoring a Run for his Country. R.I.P. Harold "Dickie" Bird. You made it to 92, such a Shame you didn't make it a Century.

Fans Forum
@BromPie It's not what's read between the lines it's the way answers are interpretated by individual Fans. One may take an answer meaning such and such while a second fan will take it to mean something entirely different. And when questioned the Club's answer will be totally different again. Plus the announcement about the Brothers wavering the £10 Million Debt the club owes Football Radar, will certainly put them in a Good Light and put a Stop to any awkward Questions which may have been raised in the Fans Forum. Well that's how I see the debt announcement, while other Fans will Scoff at that suggestion, it's all down to Interpretation.

Is Modern Football Adopting Big Sam's Playbook?
Regardless of what people say about Big Sam, his Management Record speaks for it's self. He'd have probably made a Decent England Manager if the Press and certain F.A Officials hadn't set up the Sting to get Rid of Him. His attitude in training his teams also paid Dividends. Nowadays it's Don't do this, Don't eat that, be in Bed by such and such a Time etc etc. Interestingly during his playing Career former Forest and Leeds Player Duncan McKenzie, is reported to have smoked 40 cigarettes a Day. Neil Warnock also took a more casual attitude to his Training Routine. The night before a Wembley Playoff Final, instead of packing the Notts Players off to Bed early, he played them a Tape of Roy "Chubby" Brown, it must have done some good because the Magpies won 3-1. This even got back to Chubby who in his version of Glen Campbells hit Wichita Lines Man, he sings I am a Linesman for Notts County.

Funny isn't it ? That most Fans know already what's going to happen at the Forum and they'll be right. These events are a waste of Time and even the Most Ardent of Notts Fans feel the same.

Tales From The Trenches.
During the last last few months of the Bloody Conflict of the First World War, strange tales began to Emerge from the Soldiers in the Trenches. But these were different from the stories such has the Angel of Mons and the huge Black hounds the Germans had Bred to Kill Allied Soldiers. These New Stories told of troops from both sides who lived in No Mans Land and survived on the Dead. Tales were told of Soldiers dressed in tattered Uniforms searching for food on Dead Bodies and removing the Dead's unforms to keep out the cold, in some cases it was reported that these Wild men also resorted to Cannibalism. But who were these men and how did the stories about them come about? After almost four years of the Endless Slaughter many Soldiers from both sides were affected by a New Mental Illness called Shell Shock, which at the time of the War was not fully understood by the Medical Profession. Soldiers with this condition would simply walk away from their position refusing to fight and when caught were Shot For Desertion. Seeing friends die, being mown down by enemy Machine Gun Fire and Death on an almost Daily Basis, is it any wonder ordinary men would succumb, to what later became known as Shell Shock? A Soldier knew that if he left his post he couldn't go back through his own lines as he would be shot, so all that was left was for him to go out into No Mans Land and Live and Survive there. These Soldiers according to accounts lived in old Bombed out Trenches no longer in use or sort refuge in Wooded areas or ruined buildings. So how did these tales come about? Soldiers on Guard Duty at Night would hear all kinds of Strange Weird Sounds, the cries and moans of a wounded Soldier entangled on the Barb wire, then the sound of a Shot and the cries cut off. That according to the Guards were the Wild men hunting for their next meal. There were groups on both sides known as Night Raiders who's job it was, to creep up on and Enemy Trench and after a skirmish of hand to hand Combat, the Raiders would capture a couple of Enemy Troopers and take them back to their own lines to interrogate them regarding the Strength of the Enemy facing them. Another Story of how the Wild men came about, was that of a British Infantry Soldier who while assaulting a German position was wounded in the leg unable to retreat with his comrades he bound his leg in a makeshift splint and hid in some undergrowth where he went out at night foraging for food and drinking rainwater from shell holes. He did this for a month before he was found by a British Patrol and returned to the British lines. His C.O was shocked when the Soldier reported to him, as he had been posted as Missing In Action Presumed Dead. Finally what Happened to the Wild Men of No Mans Land? There was to be No Happy Ending, they were after all classed as Deserters, and under secret orders Groups of Soldiers would go out and Hunt down the Wild Men and Kill them with Poisonous Gas Bombs. Were the Wild Men Real or just Imagined Stories told by Soldiers? That is for You to Decide.

Mafia infiltration in Italian football
The Mafia involvement , (I believe) is Nothing New in Italian Football ,there have been other Clubs charged with Mafia Connections over the years.

Ambassador to US, Deputy Leader Labour Party, Notts County DoF please attach your cv
@Piethagoram , was he? Top Marks to him for Volunteering I thought he had actually got himself a paid position. So Regardless of what Footballing Job he's offered he'll probably take it, because his compensation or pay off from Swansea, isn't Going To Last Forever. You Never Know, He Just Might Be Waiting For The Call From The Brothers.

Should Notts Hold On To Their Footballing Principles?
Fair Points @Robbie none of the New Recruits have made much of an Impact, I had heard that Will Jarvis has broken his arm, but as normal the Club haven't said anything about any injuries, so if it's true or not the Fans are none the wiser. It seems to me that Patterson is also Favouring loanees over the the players that Notts have actually signed. Poor judgement that is only going to cause unrest in the Changing room and cause resentment among the Squad. Another point showing Patterson's lack of Experience.

But any sort of Football Coaching wage is going to be better, than the money he gets working at an Airport, and the Hours would be better too. Plus Luke would have gained some experience from his time with the Swans, learned from his mistakes and returning to the Lane where he knows he'd be welcomed with Open Arms by a Majority of the Fan Base with the chance for him to build a Legacy is something Money Can't Buy.

Should Notts Hold On To Their Footballing Principles?
@Robbie . It would seem that the Notts Coaching Staff (or is it the Technical Board) are trying to change the Footballing Principles at the Lane, in one fell swoop, instead of introducing or easing the Players into a New System, they have to do it Now, Straight Away No Hanging About. As you have said players, who have been at Notts awhile are still trying to adapt from playing the Williams /Maynard System, while New Players are playing Patterson's way. I think a more Experienced Coach would have handled the Transformation much better and would have got the Squad playing has a Unit much quicker. While Patterson is trying to instill his system, Notts will Struggle and begin to drop points and if the Magpies begin to slip down into Midtable Mediocrity , the Fans are going to give voice to their feelings and pressure is going to begin to build. Now Suddenly some Fans are calling for Patterson to remain until the January Transfer Window and Notts will make a couple of signing and Hey Presto, everything is going to be Great. How? Is Patterson going to produce a Magic Wand, wave it and the Magpies will change into World Beaters? Personally I don't think Patterson will last until January, if Notts Struggle I think the Brothers will cut their losses and search for a More Experienced Coach and the longer he's out of work (football wise) Luke Williams will be the Choice of many Notts Fans.
