  1. their family must be devastated, such an awful accident where two brothers lost their lives. i am pleased the media have been reporting on the passing, rather than doing the speculation and rumour spreading that they can do with such tragic events.

rest in peace to jota and his brother. πŸ™

  2. i dont care, it could be either but you just hope whatever it was it was not out of spite or pettiness. as professional clubs that is not the way to be acting and it would be disappointing from either perspective. if it was cancelled because the date no longer worked, i would hope it was something more like that but honestly it changes nothing. i am more interested about this mystery game we have behind closed doors. it makes me wonder if we actually do have a game.

club wants to be private, no time, no location. that is the real mystery!

  3. busy day today, with a lot of incoming and a lot of exporting jobs to be done. people think that machinery makes life easier in this kind of job, and it does but you have to have your smarts. some days its like a jigsaw or one of them picture puzzles where you have to slide the correct tiles into the right position to reveal what it is. if we dont do this carefully, it can cause more work in the weeks to come, and i really do hate moving big pallets multiple times because someone has taken a corner. the day has been nice, i had a walk from the city centre to the embankment and along there. finding a bench to sit down and eating something i picked up from a chip shop.

i dont think i could have eaten something warm inside, despite it feeling cooler.

  4. i know how you dont like to single people out @Chris, so @Michael D Pie. must have earned it. its nice to know that there people who care and can help in various ways. the cost involved in running the site i know has been difficult at times, but just look at the difference subscribers are making. when i see you in person, i will donate and i will do it throughout the season. @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper have mentioned to me about us doing it together. πŸ‘

thank you @Michael D Pie. and every other subscriber of the site.

pon has come along way since the upgrade, its great to see.

  5. i am glad that alex bass put out the message, i know its a small thing and some fans will be salty but there is no need to be bitter. he deserved the move, even after just a single season and the cash could be reinvested in gaining us promotion. i wish him well at peterborough, it would be nice to see them gain promotion to the championshop and have him as their number one.

Maybe we should have kept Tyler Miller? Or maybe he didn't really impress on thetraining field.

I hope some signings are coming soon, as the squad feels quite thin again and if we have injuries like last season we may be in trouble.

supposedly he would have signed if we gain promotion but he did not want to be stuck in league two. its quite the drop, but had we known alex bass was on the radar of peterborough united we might have been able to tempt him. then again, he might not have liked not getting the chance to start, with the game bass missed and sam slocombe started it might have made him wonder why he signed.

  6. i hope he gets a chance to restart, i dont doubt that hes a good coach but professional football is hard and even harsher when you arrive at a club who cant maintain the togetherness that could have made the difference. i think had not more fans turned, he might have been given longer and i think that a lot after afc wimbledon beat us at their ground was vocal on the clubs socials it made it hard. he deserves another go, i hope he finds a national league team that he can rebuild and maybe earn promotion with. the main things is to learn about his management in games. the statement from him is nothing i would not expect from a level headed person.

  7. i think we have to make the most of the good players we have and track replacements a little more, or at least potential players that could fit in if we needed to sell a player. i think what is not helping us right now is that the quality in does not match the quality going out on paper and by the club suggesting that we are aiming for promotion that brings expectations even if some are unrealistic or unhealthy.

now we have sold bass, i hope we can bring in some players who are not free agents and fill the squad with a bit more quality that can help us feel a little more confident about promotion.

  8. @KingofCounty, i know. Tiernan Brooks could very well have been pushed this season but alex bass did seem like he would be here for a few more seasons. all we can hope is harry griffiths has been signed to be pushed into first team football nearing his contact expiry. 2 years, plus a one year choice to extend. he could be in line to be our future goalkeeper.

  9. i think to be fair, we realised that we could have better squad members. he is very much like adam chicksen to me, i just think he tried to give everything but his last game against afc wimbledon at their ground showed we could do better. i wish him well at southend.

  10. i guess it depends on how out of the blue the bid came in for him, if the club were aware he was being scouted than the wise decision would be to compile a list of keepers especially when we needed one in the first place with tyler miller never making an appearance. with him leaving, it left us to find someone to fill that place but now we have to do it again. could we try to talk to miller to get him back? i am hoping we can sign someone who is just as good as alex bass.

its gutting to see him leave, i am getting sick of forest fans gloating that we dont seem to be strengthening and making comments about relegation looming.

like they know enough about the squad, but it feels like we do need to get a good signature to boost morale with losing such a quality keeper.

  11. finishing up from work, one of my line managers who is a forest fan said to me we have sold our keeper and gloated that we look weak for a team wanting promotion. its been very humid, even inside work it seemed like metal could melt if it got any hotter. the day has not been all that bad, it seems to have flown by but nothing much really to add. it was very routine, and very uneventful except for the news of bass. πŸ˜₯

  12. i believe its done, i think its the reason as to why we have not announced any more home games other than cardiff. if you look carefully at the picture that is in the official sites fixture list, you will see the pitch seems to have been relayed. if it has not, then its amazing how well it looks to be naturally grown as a whole instead of fixing patches because usually they stand out a bit. it makes me think the safe standing is currently in the works and will be announced soon.

  13. welcome to pon @Ash. i was pretty young when i first arrived here and some of the members really made me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts. you will like it here.

  14. i think it was our first season back in league two, when we had a trialist who scored and did well in the games that he played. does anyone remember who it was? i think he was a defender. i do see the benefits of trying players, but i do agree they tend to be players teams overlook and are more squad or rotation bound.

  15. i would not say i was disappointed because i know nothing about him, and i cant let that control my feelings. i had hoped we would go for someone more experienced, but i fully trust the club. i dont know why some fans are so quick to have silly reactions. i mean on social media, its the reason why i have not replied sooner because i hate it. its just the shortest, and most angriest comments. its like everyone is fighting to post the worst possible comment. i did see someone on x saying the brothers will regret it, that they refuse to put money in and that they are cheap states.

personally, i think most people should be able to do well with this squad. we have a far better team than when we got relegated. though, i wished we had that strike force now, as it would help jatta.

i hope martin paterson proves the doubters wrong. i mean those who are still moaning.

  16. i can see luke williams looking to find a stable job, he might want to take some time away from management as his time at swansea has dinted his reputation. sometimes managers need to step away, find employment and then have another go. he could very well be a manager or someone higher up than ground staff. he does have the ability to speak and influence people. those are transferable skills.

if it is really him, i have nothing but respect.
