  1. but hes going their on loan? why are some of our fans acting like they have signed him permanently? is there some sort of signing on agreement if they choose to take it up? i have not read anything to suggest its anything but a loan. then again, his deal could be out and then he may be a free agent. i suppose that could be the case. i wish him well regardless.
  2. it shows some transfer clauses can be smart, unlike some of the ones we have placed on players in the past who have been signed for free. i hated when we used to do that and justify a gamble in return that the club would not release the player in order not to pay us a fee.
  3. free weekend for me, i have no plans. my mum will be out with my aunt on sunday, they are going sheffield shopping and to visit a friend. that means no shopping, so i might be able to have a lazy weekend for once.
  4. gareth southgate should be okay with adapting the squad, its not like we have not played with a back 3 before. the issue is doing it right in a tournament where the performances have no been great. i just hope we dont fall asleep at the back because without the defence, we may have been out already. yes its taken attacking players to score but pickford and the defence has done much better.
  5. i watched something where it said that manchester united needed more stewards, i think this was a few years ago and in a documentary. it highlighted the staff quite well, with people talking about sir alex ferguson and other things before the current owners arrived. what i find worrying is they probably wont stop spending silly fees. meanwhile regular people relying on their jobs to pay the bills, wont be able to have the luxury of retaining their jobs.
  6. nottingham sometimes feels like certain parts could have been chosen better, but i think the current train station is fine because its near to things that makes sense. i cant imagine vic centre being anything different.
  7. personally, i think if a club from league two wanted to sign a player from a premier league academy and they were able to do it where a fee would need to be agreed. like it is done the other way around, then the price should reflect them improving at the club. not what a premier league could may want. premier league teams do pick off a lot of good young talent, some of which filters down once they have used them. but you dont see many lower league teams getting good fees in return for the players they helped to become future stars, tribunals always favour the bigger clubs i feel.
  8. i voted because i want change but i dont blame anyone for not doing it. its hard to see who could turn things around, they are all as bad but i have voted for the one party i think life might be a lot better under. i dont think the tories would ever get my vote.
  9. its a good step up and i think hes a good player, i hope he transitions well. he should get more time to play he way he likes in league one.
  10. i think 11 years is nothing, its quite a serious crime and part of the deterrent is the amount you could face in prison. in the middle east, they would only dream of 11 years for this sort of thing. its frustrating and sad.
  11. its in line with most clubs our size and have ambitions just like us. it makes it more value to renew and get the best price, do fans who pay the higher amount get a chance to make it cheaper next season? i dont understand completely how the early bird deal works at notts. its a bit confusing and my worry is that the loyalty scheme might just add further headaches. i went to every game last season home and away, so i think it will effect me. i do feel the family club feel might fall wayward with these prices as not many families who are not season ticket holders could justify so much money being spent on a football game when the cost of living is still high itself.
  12. well i think with sam slocombes repeated injuries and the fact aidan stone falls to pieces when he concedes, it looked promising for tiernan brooks to be given a shout in the cup matches and in rotation in the league if needed.
  13. yeah, i am seeing that too. it does not seem to be official yet, maybe somewhere else has said it has happeed?
  14. someone on facebook has suggested he has already gone but i cant see anything confirming it. i think it would be a disappointment but it makes sense to allow tiernan brooks go and get the experience he needs to play first team football. we have signed alex bass, he seems to be looking likely to be our future keeper for some time. only issue i have, is we dont really know how good brooks could be. allowing him to go out on loan is one thing but if he ends up being sold this season, i would be disappointed we did not test him more last year.
  15. hello, @lucy80. welcome to the pride of nottingham.
  16. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @TimB.
  17. its nice to get an early tv game announced, as it should give us a nice payday. i think it should also help those fans who cant make the 8pm kick off. not that i dont wish for fans to be at meadow lane but its a late game. it just means fewer fans will miss it.
  18. great save by the turkish keeper, pure adrenaline and ability to make a save like that. its almost panther like movement. i am aware of the gordon banks save, both are excellent saves.
  19. it sounds like a great fit for him, i do wish him all the best and hope that chester can have a good season. connell rawlinson should be a key player for them.
  20. it would be awful to have only 25 minutes but notts fans and other clubs who have been in dire straits will know the pain. i am glad they survived.
  21. worth the read if anyone has not already.
  22. yes, our club is going in the right direction. i think some fans believe we should be able to instantly do things but the marketing of the club and media team is impressive. we have so many aspects as fans to be happy with. seeing better season ticket sales will make match days feel more exciting as you know the support will be there.
  23. its sad what happened in his later years, such a difficult time to live as well. i doubt professional players care or think about stars who earned little its part of why you cant relate to some of them regardless of their talent. whereas you can with players like tommy lawton.
  24. @Piethagoram where the tram now goes over near the train station?
  25. its a good amount sold, no doubt the fact that notts have a better squad and can perform well enough when things click makes it exciting. it makes a change to know that fans are complaining about the numbers or saying they wont be renewing for whatever reason. good times should be ahead for us.
