  1. @Fan of Big Tone very good point, prior to the reedtz we always tended to see our better players leave. i dont count the two years we had under ah, but before that we lost so many goof players due to the state the club were in. alan sheehan for example, who went on to play in the championship. we are now able to retain our better players, yes some do leave but that is football. this is a great read @TheSkipper.
  2. thats it, hammer mansfield. proud of that result.
  3. a good striker needs to have a sharp eye for goal and read the game well. they must be quick on their feet with good ball control. positioning is key, knowing where to be to receive the ball and create chances. a good striker should have a powerful and accurate shot, able to finish with both feet and their head. they need to be strong to hold off defenders and have the stamina to keep pressing and making runs. teamwork is crucial, linking up well with midfielders and wingers. mental toughness is important, staying focused under pressure and having the confidence to take chances. overall, a good striker combines skill, physical ability, and a strong mentality to score goals.
  4. did anyone see the documentary that netflix put out awhile ago that made it seem like drinking mild was bad for us? i like semi skinned milk, whole milk is a bit nasty tasting.
  5. i cant say i really noticed but i do think he is looking a lot fitter, so hes probably just training hard in all departments. a strong body, should help keep him playing.
  6. sorry i missed this mate, i hope you had a good birthday? happy belated birthday, @ARLukomski. i am enjoying your vlogs.
  7. fantastic player, just so calm and focused. had he not got injured last season, who knows? we might not have done much better, but i don’t think we would have struggled so much. i can see why stuart maynard is pleased. he’s a big part of the jigsaw and overall picture of what this notts squad is about.
  8. it did take some getting used to the pitch but i thought bromley did well since they were used to it, the start was a shock but i had faith that our quality would make a real game of it. the defence improved massively as the game progressed, in the changes helped to sway the game more in our favour and i think stuart maynard made smart choices. it was a joy to see jodi jones have that drive to get us back into the game. we really deserved to pull off the come back!
  9. always have enjoyed learning and hearing about players like don masson, its the same about tony hateley, les bradd and all those greats before my time. does anyone know how much his fee would be in todays money?
  10. it was between dan crowley and jodi jones, but jodi was the stand out performer by miles.
  11. welcome to pon @Pica.
  12. its very sad but i thought it was a good sending off, the write up reinforces that.
  13. its very sad, he was a good actor but had a good innings. rest in peace.
  14. the news in the week that jatta, jodi and crowley were all fit to play was a huge relief, who knew they would come to be the important part of getting a victory over bromley. there was a lot of disappointment when we went down 2-0, i understand it because the feeling of hope just sunk. it came back when jodi jones got bought down, the referee was very quick to award it which made things lift. it was a good performance in the end. we worked hard to make sure that as a team we created chances but were able to get back into it. i thought bromley played some good football and made us have to work at it.
  15. it was a great sign to get back into it, the penalty was a very poor challenge and i am pleased jodi stayed on to take it. he put in a very high performance to day and his reaction after the game was brilliant. his connection to the fans and seeing him with family and friends, its just great.
  16. love jodi and his attitude, i agree when he says something you can see that its more than words. he practices what he preaches as my mum says. very pleased that he has got two more goals to his name. he played outstandingly today, very impressive.
  17. sorry to read the horrible time you had, but its good you are back. please take extra care of yourself, keep that heart of yours well protected.
  18. wait, why did he leave them in the first place? its weird to see him appoint. its like the club has gone running to him with their tail between the legs. ????
  19. sorry i have never heard of it, i dont want a lot of older tv. i never really have. still its sad news about the actor of the show.
  20. i dont think i would want to be around two chefs that are going to verbal war, they seem heat headed as it is.
  21. Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 QPR Swansea City 1-3 Norwich City Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Huddersfield Town Rotherham United 2-1 Burton Albion Carlisle United 0-2 Fleetwood Town ???? joker Port Vale 0-2 Chesterfield Southend United 1-0 Sutton United Tamworth 0-0 Maidenhead United
  22. i think it will be a good enough game, i hope they play defensive as it will test our creativity and all we need is one chance if we play as good as we cand defensively. if they are physical or borderline dirty, i am sure notts will be able to focus on playing football. its going to be an interesting 90 minutes.
  23. i hope the comments about protecting the players does not go against us, i can see referees allowing more go, i used to hate seeing jon stead fouled only for the referee to act like he pulled his own shirt. its not like any of our players are diving. i do like stuart maynards comments about the game though, it will be good to see the returning players back.
  24. hes just quality, i love his response to signing the new deal. it shows how focused and committed to notts he is. the moment he signed for us, it has been nothing but exciting and its a real joy to watch him play for us. to see his contract extended gives me hope we can get back to league one and then who knows?
  25. its good hes enjoying life at meadow lane and notts does seem like a good fit, he could still be at a team like afc wimbledon and being loaned out. hes now a notts player and we want him as much as he wants to be here. i love his attitude towards not conceding goals.
