Partick Thistle ask fans for help with new players lodgings
good for them, scottish football does seem a bit more together with fans helping those who cant afford season tickets to get one. i would not be against housing any new players to help settle, i have two spare rooms which i have tried to encourage @CliftonMagpie and his girlfriend to take up since renting is very expensive right now. it makes a lot of sense to offer a room, and integrate with support.

Heat Wave
its been really nice the past few days, like really enjoyable to go out and have walks without feeling like you cant. its the summer where we have a normal week, rain and then blistering heat. i guess its better than having no sun at all.

New shirt
yellow and green was the first kit the reedtz had with notts? our first season in the national league? i think they are proper nottingham colours and i would not mind a design similar to the above but more plain. i cant imagine any fancy designs of a magpie or whatever would be on it.

Weekly Chat - Monday 7th to Sunday 13th July
i have just finished work, i thought i would check on pon before i drive home. im waiting to give a friend a lift to wollaton, but they finish at half past and i finished around 3pm today. nothing exciting about work, just maintaining the pallets ready for their deliveries and general cleaning of the areas that are not in use. the cleaning is the trickier bit, as its important you do it but without damaging other areas that might contain stock and parcels. @Fan of Big Tone, just make sure you dont price things too low. glad you got the sale and for someone to buy it from sheffield says they got a good deal.

Trouble at Morecambe FC again
so is there a battle between the main owner and the board? it sounds like a soap drama and not a professional football club. the owner needs to put his hands up and move on with his life, i can never understand why people put themselves in this issue. we have seen it twice at notts where a owner says hes selling the club, only to hang onto it for dear life and it never does well. people end up not being paid, and that is ruining lifes because everyone has bills to pay. the statement reads like an awful attempt to twist things and to scare people off, does the morecambe owner want to be like putin? a dictator??

New signing Barry Cotter
looks a good signing, i have already seen some fans complain and speculate that someone will be off but maybe we are freeing up one of our wing backs to play further forward? the shape could be changing. i am not against loans when they are quality, so i dont get the "owners dont want to spend" comments on the squad or that its another cheap option. i dont know much about him but i have seen comments from people wishing him well which makes me more confident.

Alfreton Town v Notts County
it will be nice getting out back to watching notts, i hope to see some glimpses of early signs of the new signings. i am hoping that matthew dennis can show case his ability, it would also be nice if jodi jones has managed to refind his confidence. last season was difficult with the injuries but hes such a class player. we need to get that drive back out of him, but it might take time. friendlies would be a good way to encourage it.

RIP Diogo Jota
their family must be devastated, such an awful accident where two brothers lost their lives. i am pleased the media have been reporting on the passing, rather than doing the speculation and rumour spreading that they can do with such tragic events. rest in peace to jota and his brother. 🙁

Auf geht's Notts - a brief guide to Germany
its not a journey i feel comfortable making by myself, but i would have liked it. with there being three games, i wished i had time to better plan and sort the time so work was not an issue. maybe in the future @TheSkipper?

Peterborough friendly cancelled
i dont care, it could be either but you just hope whatever it was it was not out of spite or pettiness. as professional clubs that is not the way to be acting and it would be disappointing from either perspective. if it was cancelled because the date no longer worked, i would hope it was something more like that but honestly it changes nothing. i am more interested about this mystery game we have behind closed doors. it makes me wonder if we actually do have a game. club wants to be private, no time, no location. that is the real mystery!

Weekly chat - Monday 30th June to Sunday 6th July
busy day today, with a lot of incoming and a lot of exporting jobs to be done. people think that machinery makes life easier in this kind of job, and it does but you have to have your smarts. some days its like a jigsaw or one of them picture puzzles where you have to slide the correct tiles into the right position to reveal what it is. if we dont do this carefully, it can cause more work in the weeks to come, and i really do hate moving big pallets multiple times because someone has taken a corner. the day has been nice, i had a walk from the city centre to the embankment and along there. finding a bench to sit down and eating something i picked up from a chip shop. i dont think i could have eaten something warm inside, despite it feeling cooler.

Announcement: Updates on upgrades and further site work - 3rd July
i know how you dont like to single people out @Chris, so @Michael D Pie. must have earned it. its nice to know that there people who care and can help in various ways. the cost involved in running the site i know has been difficult at times, but just look at the difference subscribers are making. when i see you in person, i will donate and i will do it throughout the season. @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper have mentioned to me about us doing it together. 👍 thank you @Michael D Pie. and every other subscriber of the site. pon has come along way since the upgrade, its great to see.

The Saudi Pro League
its a good job its man city, because united would not have scored i bet. 🤣

Alex Bass statement
i am glad that alex bass put out the message, i know its a small thing and some fans will be salty but there is no need to be bitter. he deserved the move, even after just a single season and the cash could be reinvested in gaining us promotion. i wish him well at peterborough, it would be nice to see them gain promotion to the championshop and have him as their number one. supposedly he would have signed if we gain promotion but he did not want to be stuck in league two. its quite the drop, but had we known alex bass was on the radar of peterborough united we might have been able to tempt him. then again, he might not have liked not getting the chance to start, with the game bass missed and sam slocombe started it might have made him wonder why he signed.

NCFC Academy News
best of luck to him, and thank you for the work he put into the academy. i do wish him well.
-
Stuart Maynard statement
i hope he gets a chance to restart, i dont doubt that hes a good coach but professional football is hard and even harsher when you arrive at a club who cant maintain the togetherness that could have made the difference. i think had not more fans turned, he might have been given longer and i think that a lot after afc wimbledon beat us at their ground was vocal on the clubs socials it made it hard. he deserves another go, i hope he finds a national league team that he can rebuild and maybe earn promotion with. the main things is to learn about his management in games. the statement from him is nothing i would not expect from a level headed person.

Kouhyar, Conspiracies, and the Keeper Conundrum
liampie commented on allardyces tash's blog entry in Tune in Next Week: The Ongoing Drama of Notts Countyi love your blog series @allardyces tash, the way you joke about things is enduring and make a difference from reading someone just complaining for the sake of it. its also enjoyable the thought you put into the accompanying poll. with regards to what you write, i largely agree with you and want to see how things turn out. as for the poll, i think we need depth for the injuries, but obviously a keeper is the highest priority now. would prefer a long term replacement for alex bass, but i am not against a loan if that move is not open provided the incoming keeper is good.
-
Can I get some stuff off of my chest about Notts?
i think we have to make the most of the good players we have and track replacements a little more, or at least potential players that could fit in if we needed to sell a player. i think what is not helping us right now is that the quality in does not match the quality going out on paper and by the club suggesting that we are aiming for promotion that brings expectations even if some are unrealistic or unhealthy. now we have sold bass, i hope we can bring in some players who are not free agents and fill the squad with a bit more quality that can help us feel a little more confident about promotion.

Notts County sign promising goalkeeper Harry Griffiths
i hope he can come in and impress, whilst he will be the backup i think teams in the premier league would not have signed him if they did not something in him. if notts can work with him and sign a quality replacement for alex bass, then harry griffiths might just blossom in our environment. at his age he does need to get games tho.
-
Harry Griffiths to Notts.
@KingofCounty, i know. Tiernan Brooks could very well have been pushed this season but alex bass did seem like he would be here for a few more seasons. all we can hope is harry griffiths has been signed to be pushed into first team football nearing his contact expiry. 2 years, plus a one year choice to extend. he could be in line to be our future goalkeeper.
