  1. New deals Cedwyn Scott - 2 year deal. See tweet below. Aden Baldwin - 2 year deal. I know he has mistakes in him but he is a real big reason we can play out from the back, Mistakes will come with that role in the middle of the back 3. Geraldo Bajrami - 1 year deal with an option of an extra year. I think Baj still has a part to play. His future is in central midfield. He just needs his passing game to go with his physical side of the game, then we've got a player. His physique since he got his injury is incredible. John Bostock - 1 year deal. Not the same player since Matty got injured. Still an experienced head to lean on, but maybe not a regular starter anymore Luther Munakandafa - 1 year deal. This must be his year for progression. He was excellent against Derby. Must find a good National League loan. There's a player in there. We've got to find room for him. Jim O'Brien - Offer coaching role. Let him continue on his coaching journey but like with Michael Doyle, sometimes you have to move on from the playing side. He's gave his all to this club and we should honor that Tobi Adebayo-Rowling - Release. It's hard to release players that you have such loyalty to because of their achievements with the club. However, it's now about progression over loyalty and we need upgrades in the squad. His infectious personality is amazing. He's had some good cameos this season. I thought he was excellent at MK linking up with Crowley Richard Brindley - Release. Thank you for your efforts and being part of the squad that took us back to the Football League. I truly appreciate how Brinds stayed with us through all four seasons in the National League. Whilst he had an extended spell in the team this term, due to his move to a central role in the back 3, he's been found out at this level.
  2. Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Stoke City Middlesbrough 1-2 Bristol City Blackpool 2-1 Oxford United (Joker) Reading 2-0 Charlton Athletic Swindon Town 2-2 Salford City Walsall 1-1 Newport County Altrincham 2-1 Rochdale Boreham Wood 1-1 Maidenhead United
  3. Mansfield Town 1-0 Notts County - Encouragement despite derby defeat
  4. Cedwyn Scott, Cody Rhodes, Charles Leclerc and a photo of Cedwyn Scott The awe inspiring collection of style, aura, beauty, skill and talent. Then whatever I am (none of those)
  5. It's obviously frustrating to lose another derby, especially as there was a chance to get something from the game. However, there are definitely positives to take. We battled and competed but ran out of ideas and legs in the end. Should've taken one of the chances we had in the first half. Robertson looked good and battled well, making it tough for Maris and Reed to build attacks from deep, winning the ball in good areas. Maynard explained in his post match why Jones and Nemane were on opposite wings and I understood. It was a good way of breaking their press. I thought Warner slotted in well and looked more comfortable than Brindley. Baldwin had a good game, helping us play out from the back, heading away plenty of crosses and making his fair share of last ditch blocks and tackles. However, we still lack strength in depth. It's the biggest difference between League 2 and the National League. Hence, again, why Austin was the only viable substitute. Nemane was knackered from about 65 mins onwards, as was Bostock. We're not ready to go up and we need to realise it. We can still make a fight of it this season, but if we don't go up it's not the end of the world.
  6. Notts County 1-1 Barrow - Maynard's first game
  7. Norwich City 1-2 Coventry City Swansea City 1-1 Plymouth Argyle (Joker) Burton Albion 1-0 Lincoln City Exeter City 2-1 Bristol Rovers Crawley Town 2-0 Morecambe Sutton United 2-1 Doncaster Rovers Halifax Town 1-1 Aldershot Town Solihull Moors 1-2 Altrincham
  8. One thing we must stop doing in this fixture, is capitulating. It is a horrible trait of Notts teams over the years in this very fixture. 2015-16 - Lost 5-0 and conceded 3 in 10 minutes, that took the score from 1-0 to 4-0. 2016-17 - Lost 3-1 and conceded 2 goals in added time (the first in the 90th and the second in the 93rd) that took the score from 1-1 to 3-1. 2017-18 - Lost 3-1 and conceded 3 goals in 16 minutes, including 2 in 4 minutes. That took the score from 0-0 to 3-0. 2023-24 - Lost 4-1 and conceded 3 in 11 minutes that took the score from 1-1 to 4-1.
  9. Tsamina mina, eh eh Alassana, eh eh Tsamina mina zangalewa He comes from Gambia ????????
  10. Seen this fixture nine times. 1 JPT, 8 league games. 2 wins, 2 draws, 5 losses. GF7, GA18. Our record in this derby is bad, but our record at Field Mill is borderline farcical. The main reason why we never do well in this fixture is because we don't have the right attitude and application, especially in the away fixture. Funnily enough, the one time we did show some bite and finishing quality, we won. Warner must start over Brindley because like Bradford and for a while Barrow, Mansfield will just target our right-hand side. We need legs to cope with their midfield diamond and to also stand strong if they go man-to-man (like they did at ML). Unlike that fixture though, Jodi will be available for it. It's also in games like this, we must stop isolating Macca. It feels like sometimes we're too afraid to take risks incase the opposition counter on us. It's happened against all the teams we've played in the top 7 this season. I've already seen that Mansfield are in an apparent "crisis," like they say they are everytime before they play us, before we eventually put in an excuse of a performance and tamely lose like normal. This time its to do with their lack of striker options. I've already predicted they'll get a penalty to make up for the one they didn't get against Wimbledon. It's also not like their Twitter account has already tweeted about the game 2 or 3 times this week already, whilst we've tweeted nothing about it. This game won't define our season but the players owe us after the reverse fixture. I hope SM, MS and CS have done their research into our record in this fixture. It needs to change. Immediately
  11. Aiming to do all 23 away games. Done every one at the moment. Going Mansfield and will do Newport as well. I just hope I can get one. Loyalty system needed
  12. No. One good game against Ipswich doesn't mean he's League 2 standard. The guy is a loose cannon, as proven by his sending off against Dorking on the opening day of last season. Would spend more time on the sidelines due to suspension
  13. Thought it was a case of stuck trying to find a happy balance between playing Williamsball and Maynardball. There was a focus on being steadier at the back, but that meant we were less brave going forward. It took a bit of time to get going. We conceded quite a few chances in the first half but were better at preventing them in the second half. I thought Baldwin was excellent and made some superb blocks and tackles. Also controlled the build up play from the back. It will be more open against different opposition as, as shown in the reverse fixture, Barrow are well drilled and are good defensively. It was one of our more quiet games under Williams as well. With time, we'll find that fine balance between defensive protection and attacking fluidity. I don't think we're ready to go up. I thought that last month. We need bigger squad depth and more options off the bench, hence why Austin was the only sub. The biggest difference between L2 and NL is squad depth.

  15. He was on the recruitment doc. Both us and Lincoln are after him. A good player who needs to find the right environment. Something that (as posted previously) FGR isn't
  16. Mark Ellis. After his loan spell finished, he signed for Barrow in the summer of 2021
  17. FGR's downfall started over 12 months ago. They were victims of their own success. When they got promoted from League 2, Rob Edwards left for Watford and part of the spine of their promotion winning side left as well. Ebou Adams, Kane Wilson and Nicky Cadden all left, so Ian Burchnall was basically thrown in at the deep end, at a level he'd not managed at before, at a club that hadn't been at League 1 level before. They didn't recruit well enough in the summer of 2022 and despite Burchnall trying to keep them competitive, FGR as a club, were just out of their depth at League 1 level. Showing how difficult it was, Duncan Ferguson only won 1 of his 18 league games in charge, against a Sheffield Wednesday side, who were doing their best to try and not get promoted. FGR's defence was horrific and conceded 89 goals, only scoring 31 as well. Sometimes when a club has such a disastrous League 1 relegation, that can carry over into next season. It's happened to Stockport, Chesterfield and Southend, Sometimes that process can take a few seasons but eventually catch up to teams. This has happened to Oldham, Rochdale and Yeovil. In the summer of 2023, they lost players who will have been good enough for this level to help them at least stabilise. Bailly Cargill, Corey O'Keeffe, Regan Hendry, Luke McGee, Ben Stevenson, Udoka Godwin-Malife and Armani Little. It also comes from the top. Dale Vince has always been known to have an ego, ever since FGR stepped foot in the football league. The guy loves the media attention. Just look at his Twitter. The current situation gives off Notts-Alan Hardy vibes (not in that way) of an egotistical owner and a shambles of a football club, due to the carelessness in which it is being looked after. The appointment of Troy Deeney gives Vince what he wants. A big name in the dugout and the media attention to go with it (see Notts-Harry Kewell vibes). Said manager calls out players - he gets sacked - 3rd manager of the season already needed. Deeney was literally a pundit for the QPR-Watford game, the day after his ran, after they lost 2-0 to Harrogate. They've actually recruited well this January so far, but when it's not settled at the top, them problems make their way downwards and onto the pitch. They now have a big squad, no manager and an owner, who at the moment, is too busy pushing his political and personal views, rather than caring for a football club, which is heading for back-to-back relegations.

  21. I was going to post this on here but you've beat me to it @Piethagoram ???? If I was answering my own question POTS so far: Jodi Jones Best performance: Morecambe (H) Best opposition: Them (if not Lincoln) Worst opposition: Doncaster Best away day: Gillingham Who I'd appoint: Andy Crofts/Paddy McCarthy

  24. The new head coach must have some select principles, if we are to handle the transition period well Tactical continuity - The new head coach must build on our principles to play possession based, high tempo football. Playing out from the back, but taking risks when needed and knowing when to play and when not to. Not overplaying when you don't need to. Pressing the opposition and winning the ball high up the pitch and when we lose, counter press. Stick to the philosophy that has been successful. We don't need a 4-4-2, two quick wingers and two big lads up front because it feels good and reminds us of "the good old days." To continue the progress made, you need to tweak and not tear up. We need to adapt to situations (like we have done recently without Matty Palmer). It's evolution, not revolution Player development - We saw under LW, that players can adapt the way they play and can thrive in different positions. Aaron Nemane has become a regular part of the starting x1 for 2 seasons. Adam Chicksen became a goalscoring wing-back, Jim and Cammy became more comfortable with the ball at their feet. He even took Macca from a wider position at Gateshead and made him the best striker at the club this century, turning him into a penalty area poacher, pressing machine. This must extend to the academy and the B team. We can start to see the likes of James Sanderson, Madou Cisse, Lucien Mahovo, Luther Munakandafa and Charlie Gill appear more in the first team squad over the next few years. Our model is about sustainability, and if we develop players and then sell them on for more than we bought them for, that's a success. This also makes us an attractive proposition for clubs to send their players to us on loan. Man management - This is a huge aspect. One that is bigger than people think. Luke Williams treated his players like brothers. He conjured up a relentless mentality. It was one of the big reasons we got out the National League. You need a winning mentality and to rise above others who try and dish it out. A group that is committed to the overall goal and our style, will become a successful group. Treat the players like human beings and foster a team spirit and mentality worthy of Notts County. Luke said after the Harrogate game "Playing with sloppiness and mistakes and without courage, you cannot play for Notts County like that."
