  1. Notts County's regular League Two season has ended with a goalless draw against Luton Town at Meadow Lane on Saturday. The Magpies, who had sealed a playoff place but could not go any higher than third following the loss to Grimsby Town, played out a bright game against their promoted opponents. Neither side could break the deadlock, however, in a game that had an end-of-season team and with neither side having anything much to play for, except for where Notts would finish in the playoff positions. As it was, Kevin Nolan's charges finished fifth in the table and would find themselves up against sixth-placed Coventry City - the side that beat them 3-0 in the season opener - in the semi-finals. Here is how the game panned out, with Notts County's official YouTube match highlights. 2. From the Notts website: The EFL has confirmed its partnership with Quest, the Discovery-owned free-to-air TV channel powered by Eurosport, to become the new home of football highlights for the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One, Sky Bet League Two, Carabao Cup and Checkatrade Trophy. The partnership between the EFL and Quest will guarantee accessible high quality, free-to-air coverage for football fans across the country. Kicking off from the 2018-19 season the four-year deal will see Quest provide 90 minutes of extensive match highlights, hosted by Colin Murray, in primetime at 9pm every Saturday night. Quest will also broadcast 10 hour-long highlights shows capturing all the action from every round of mid-week fixtures. In addition, Quest will present eight hour-long highlights shows from the Carabao Cup and Checkatrade Trophy as part of the arrangement. Quest is available in 27 million homes across Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media and BT TV. With a monthly reach of 12.4million, Quest is Discovery’s largest channel in the UK, and enjoyed its best ever first-quarter performance in 2018. The EFL highlights will headline Quest’s line-up of sports events throughout the year which are delivered by leveraging Eurosport’s sport production expertise. This list already includes snooker’s Home Nations series, cycling’s Giro d’Italia, British and World Superbike Championships and football’s pre-season tournament, the Emirates Cup. Each show will feature every goal from every EFL fixture plus in-depth analysis from a selection of expert pundits, hosted by Colin Murray who has proved a popular figure on the existing EFL highlights show and now joins Quest for the 2018-19 season. The new partnership guarantees the EFL comprehensive free-to-air linear coverage and enhanced digital content across Quest’s platforms, building on the current EFL distribution strategy to engage more fans than ever before. In a first for the EFL, Quest will produce 'the Reaction' - a new weekly interactive Facebook series also presented by Colin Murray. With a strong focus on engaging fans from clubs across the country, the series will offer the opportunity for supporters to voice their views and opinions following the conclusion of the day’s matches. 3. Notts County have secured a playoff place in League Two and could yet claim a top-three spot thanks to Saturday's 4-1 win over Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane. The Magpies took the lead on the stroke of half time as Dan Jones let rip with an audacious long-range effort which took a deflection and wrongfooted Glovers keeper John Maddison en route to goal. Notts stepped up a gear in the second half, doubling their lead with a wonderful own goal from Tom James before strikes from Elliott Hewitt and Lewis Alessandra put the hosts out of reach. There was time for the visitors to bag a consolation and breach County's clean sheet as Alex Fisher netted in injury time from a free kick. However, the result was in no doubt whatsoever and the Black & White Army could celebrate another huge step in the team's promotion bid. Relive the key moments - including the worldie own goal - with the official match highlights, which we have shared here for you. 4. Notts County returned to winning ways as Jonathan Forte's brace sealed a 2-1 victory over League Two promotion rivals Coventry City at Meadow Lane. Pride of Nottingham-sponsored Forte broke the deadlock when he glanced in Jorge Grant's corner in the 60th minute. Coventry equalised in the 85th minute as substitute Jordan Ponticelli deceived goalkeeper Adam Collin with a deft flick into the back of the net. However, the Magpies responded immediately when Forte got a touch on Shola Ameobi's low cross to secure a vital three points. Notts had not won in their last four games but victory leaves them four points off the automatic promotion spots and five ahead of their opponents, who hold the final playoff place. 5. Notts County missed out on the chance to gain ground on the top three in League Two as they were held to a goalless draw by Wycombe Wanderers in Good Friday's match at Meadow Lane. The Chairboys came to NG2 very much intent on leaving with a point and the Magpies could not break their defence down in an uninspiring, rain-sodden encounter. County had the better of the chances in the first half with Shola Ameobi striking a post following a Terry Hawkridge cross. Kevin Nolan was then sent to the stands as he vented his anger after Ameobi was hauled down in the penalty area by Adam El-Abd, but referee Ben Toner ruled there was no foul. Both sides continued to trade blows in the second half but, with Notts having little end product and Wycombe shutting up shop, the end result was a stalemate. 6. Notts County secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Forest Green Rovers on Saturday to keep them third in the League Two table. Liam Noble returned to haunt his former club, of which he was captain, with the opener for the Magpies after 34 minutes played at the New Lawn. Lewis Alessandra was brought down in the FGR box but the referee opted to play the advantage, which resulted in Noble rifling home before celebrating avidly in front of the Green Devils fans Although Tahvon Campbell - also playing against his former club - equalised in the second half, Matt Tootle had the final say with a drive past FGR goalkeeper Brad Collins, which meant the Slug celebration came out in all its glory. 7. Notts County have got their stuttering promotion hopes back on track thanks to a 2-0 win over Stevenage in Saturday's League Two encounter at Meadow Lane. The Magpies laboured throughout the game but went on to open the scoring 13 minutes from the end. It came from the refreshed Jorge Grant, on as a substitute, as he struck a superb volley into the bottom corner of the net after the visitors had struggled to deal with Richard Duffy's ball into the box. The second goal came just two minutes later as Shola Ameobi bravely prodded in a header from Ben Hall, getting a knock for his troubles although he was fine to continue. The result sees the Magpies climb to fourth in the table and narrow the gap between themselves and third-placed Wycombe Wanderers to one point. Notts County have published the highlights from the game on their official YouTube channel, and we have shared them for your viewing pleasure here on Pride of Nottingham. 8. Notts County were held to a 0-0 draw by Newport County at Rodney Parade on Saturday. In a game of few clear-cut chances, the Magpies had to settle for a point which saw them end the day fifth in League Two. Notts were more dangerous than their opponents, with Lewis Alessandra and Jon Stead both going close. Four minutes were added on at the end of the match, towards the end of which Notts forced a succession of corners. However, there was to be no breakthrough as the game ended goalless. Here are the official match highlights from County's YouTube channel, which we have shared here for you. 9. Notts County put in arguably one of the worst performances of the season on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Barnet. The League Two's basement side more than matched their opponents for the majority of the game before grabbing the winner in injury time. A lump upfield by goalkeeper Craig Ross bounced kindly for Alex Nicholls, who raced onto the ball and lashed it past Adam Collin to give the Bees all three points. The result leaves the Magpies fourth in the table, two points behind third-placed Wycombe Wanderers and just four points ahead of eighth-placed Lincoln City. While it was not a good game by any means of the imagination, we have put up the highlights so you can see the key moments, perhaps to establish what went wrong, or if you weren't at the game and want to see what happened. 10. Notts County's superb unbeaten league home run has come to an end as Exeter City ran out 2-1 winners in Saturday's encounter at Meadow Lane. The high-flying Grecians, who are in the promotion mix, took the lead after just seven minutes through Jake Taylor. Jayden Stockley then doubled the visitors' lead just before half time as the disjointed Magpies struggled to cope against their opponents. Jon Stead pulled a goal back for Notts with a second-half penalty, won after Shola Ameobi was hauled down in the box, but sadly the hosts could not go on to find an equaliser. Should you wish to see them, here are the official Notts YouTube highlights from the game. 11. Notts County came from a goal down to salvage a 2-2 draw at Lincoln City in Saturday's League Two encounter at Sincil Bank. The Magpies had taken the lead through Jon Stead’s header in the 35th minute, which led to Lincoln manager Danny Cowley being sent to the stands for protesting a foul in the build-up. Lee Frecklington, however, equalised on his debut minutes later and Matt Green then put the Imps ahead. Jorge Grant, as is always the case, was the hero as he struck back with a powerful drive off the crossbar to secure a share of the spoils for Notts at Sincil Bank. Here are the highlights from the game, posted on the official Notts YouTube channel and shared by Pride of Nottingham. 12. Notts County have claimed their second win in three League Two games after Jon Stead scored a late penalty to secure a 1-0 victory over Port Vale. The Magpies had lost 1-0 at Swindon Town two days earlier but bounced back by beating a Vale side that had notched up wins over Luton Town and Coventry City over the festive period. Kevin Nolan's charges had been denied several key decisions by the referee but still came up trumps when Marcus Harness's shove on Stead led to the awarding of a spot kick. The veteran striker smashed the ball into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Ryan Boot no chance, to keep Notts well in the automatic promotion positions. 13. Notts County have maintained their unbeaten home record but lost ground on League Two leaders Luton Town in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Grimsby Town at Meadow Lane. In a game of few genuine chances, the Magpies failed to muster a single shot on target against a Mariners side that defended well but likewise couldn't break down the hosts. The result sees Notts still in second, four points ahead of third-placed Exeter City, but with Luton winning 2-0 at Forest Green Rovers, the gap between first and second is now two points. 14. Notts County continue to set the pace at the top of the League Two table thanks to a 3-1 win over Cheltenham Town on Saturday. Jorge Grant opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Jon Stead's layoff was convincingly rifled home by the Nottingham Forest loanee. However, the Robins restored parity against the run of play when Carl Winchester was allowed space to unleash a low shot goalwards that snuck beyond Ross Fitzsimons. Kevin Nolan's side rode their luck early in the second half but eventually came good as Grant doubled his tally before Shaun Brisley added a third to preserve Notts' great home league form and top spot in the table. 15. Notts County put in one of their best performances in recent years in a 4-2 hammering of Bristol Rovers at Meadow Lane on Friday night to reach the second round of the FA Cup. The visitors had led 2-0 after the first 15 minutes thanks to goals from Liam Sercombe and Stuart Sinclair, which prompted fears of a full-blown capitulation to the League One side. However, the Magpies rallied round in superb style as a quickfire brace from Ryan Yates edged them level by the break, setting up a second half in which the hosts really showed what they're made of. Ultimately a further two goals, from Jon Stead and Jorge Grant, saw the Pirates knocked out of the competition, while Notts are in the hat for round two and ever closer to the hallowed third round and the hope of a tie against Premier League giants. Here are the highlights from the game, as posted on the FA's official YouTube channel. 16. Notts County have returned to the summit of League Two as Jorge Grant bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over 10-man Newport County. The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 36th minute when he calmly slotted into the corner from inside the box after being played in by Jon Stead. That came just three minutes after Dan Butler had seen red for catching Matt Tootle with his elbow in an aerial challenge. Early in the second half, Shola Ameobi produced a powerful finish to double Notts' advantage. Grant went on to score his second of the match three minutes later when he nodded in the rebound from his own saved shot. He sadly missed out on a hat-trick when his free kick rattled the woodwork, but Notts still saw out the game without a reply from Newport and, combined with Luton Town's defeat, went back to the summit. Here are the highlights from the game, as posted on Notts County's official YouTube channel.
