  1. Facing Morecambe away is never a walk in the park, but it’s heartening to see Maynard’s faith in the lads. We put in a sterling performance against Gillingham, even if the result didn’t go our way. That’s football for you, isn’t it? The key is to keep up those high standards. Morecambe’s pressing game is something we need to be cautious of, but I have every confidence our boys are up to the task. It’s a pity about Jatta, but the welfare of the players must always come first. And it’s truly uplifting to see young talents like Kameron Muir getting their chance. Tomorrow’s match is vital for us to regain our footing and maintain our momentum in the league. Our supporters deserve nothing less than a top-notch performance!
  2. It would be disappointing to come away with nothing, especially with their form, but every game is different. Morecambe are suffering right now, and Notts could make a game of it if they play to a certain level. Defensively, we should be fine against them, I feel. It’s making sure we stay switched on in key moments, but our attacking players should be all over them. Have we had any news on Jodi Jones yet?
  3. It might seem controversial, but I don’t think Luke Williams would have chosen many of the young players to start or feature as long as they did. Two or three at the most. Stuart Maynard deserves a lot of the credit for having faith in the youngsters and for the win. It was brilliant to see them doing so well.
  4. I thought Sam Austin was very good throughout the game. His experience, I believe, helped the youngsters. He took his goal well. I think Austin becomes a different player when he finds the net.
  5. I’m really impressed with how the team handled the Gillingham match, despite the result. We controlled the game for long spells, and it’s clear that we’re growing as a unit. The controversial goal was a tough one to swallow, but it’s part of the game. I think with a bit more sharpness in the final third, we’ll turn those dominating performances into wins. Injuries didn’t help us either, especially losing Jodi Jones, but we have enough quality in the squad to bounce back.
  6. I hope he will be okay. I am sure whatever injury it is, we’ll look after him and he will come back stronger. We looked after Cal Roberts. Jodi will want to return to playing when ready, I am sure.
  7. The announced attendance didn’t seem right. It easily looked over 14,000. In the Pavis, I could see a free seat. The KOP only had seats in the side corners and not many. So, I am baffled by the 11,000.
  8. They play tomorrow. It will be eventful if they lose because it could lead to a trickier team. I just hope they don’t sack their manager and hire a new one before we play them. It should be a good away day if Notts play their cards right.
  9. I don’t remember him, so he can’t have done much for us. If he was here during Jamie Fullarton’s reign, no wonder.
  10. Thank goodness the officials can’t be voted for! I bet somewhere on the internet, a Gillingham fan site is voting for them as their Men of the Match. I voted for Dan Crowley. It’s a shame no one else really got going despite some of his clever passing.
  11. I am saddened to see Curtis Edwards out. It won’t be easy without him, but we have cover. I hope he can come back strong and ready. He’s a good player.
  12. I hope David McGoldrick is in form. We have every chance of pulling off a victory if Gillingham’s defence is as good as their fans say. His class could be the dividing factor.
  13. Happy Birthday, @CliftonMagpie! Once you reach a certain age, birthdays are just like any other day, right? Enjoy it anyway!
  14. I would predict a win based on form. It is still early days, and at some point, a team will try to disrupt us. I don’t think the wheelbarrow will break, but I am cautious that a team like Bromley could cause a shock. I just want our lads to play well.
  15. I think there are several players who are essential when fit: Alex Bass, Jacob Bedeau, Matty Platt, Matt Palmer, Dan Crowley, and Jodi Jones. The rest can be rotated among the squad. It’s a good problem for the head coach to have. It took Stuart Maynard time to identify his strongest squad last season. I think he knows now and sees the benefits of certain players in specific games.
