Notts County manager Jamie Fullarton has claimed he will not appoint an assistant manager for the sake of it, with no updates on an appointment thus far.
The Magpies boss has been without a right-hand man since his arrival last month after the club sacked Ricardo Moniz and assistants Dave Kevan and Dean Yates.
Current under-21s coach Richard Dryden has been assisting Fullarton both in training and on matchdays.
The manager said: "There's no update at the moment.
“We are working towards seeing what the current staff bring to the table and how they fit in with what I am.
"We are also just seeing what kind of skill set we need that will make us stronger and better.
"You don't want to bring somebody in for the sake of it. It's important to get it right.
"It has to be the right person and somebody who adds value rather than just bring somebody in just to fill the role."
