here you go joe, Manny (odd name) is on his way back. i know you've had some defensive issue's, do you feel he will slot back into your team without causing any problems? a knee injury is quite something to get over.

Notts County defender Manny Smith has made his long-awaited comeback for the League One club from a knee injury.

Smith, who joined the Magpies on a two-year deal in the summer, has been sidelined since being carried off on a stretcher 40 minutes into his debut in the Capital One Cup defeat to Bradford in the first game of the season.

The 24-year-old centre-back has resumed full training and played in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Derby's Moor Farm training ground on Tuesday afternoon, which the Magpies lost 2-0.

Smith came through the game unscathed and manager Keith Curle hopes to have him back in first-team contention in time for the busy Christmas programme.

Liddle has been very good cover, he reverted back to his old playing position so I know we have someone who is capable. I gave some opinions on this matter on the official sites facebook page, which I got some negative reactions. I'd like to see liddle return to midfield, when our centre backs are actually fully fit and the times right. Mainly due to the fact I think Liddle offers great defensive cover, so I don't see why he couldn't attack and defend, doing much of the same as he is within the position we have him playing.

Manny is one of them players some of our fans was concerned about, I think he fits in with our system and hope to see him and dean form a good partnership.
