Freelance Journalism 101

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Just a quick open query regarding if anyone knows how to get into the field of freelance journalism. It's something I am considering in the next year or two.

I currently have a LinkedIn and plenty of writing experience, including in the Nottingham Post, and currently work part-time in a sports reporter role, so I do have some pedigree.

Anybody able to give me some pointers?

Much appreciated :-)

Well you're are making progress as things are, you write for multiple sources and have a good presence with those sites.

I know we have a couple of reporters/newspaper writers (or I should say former) around, I think @Sid retired? He might might be able to give advice but personally keep putting your face in doors, send out your articles to editors and eventually something will happen.

@liampie don't worry, I'm not intending to leave PoN. No matter how busy I'd get, I'd always make sure that I'm able to contribute at least a few articles a week to this site. I'm not being poached by nobody if it means getting in the way of PoN. :)
