Nottinghamshire's Ben Duckett is the century maker as he gives England a great start to their first innings in the third test against India. At stumps Duckett is 133 not out & England are  207 for 2 in replay to India's 445 all out.

Day three of the third Test started with much promise for England, but early wickets for India and a collapse of the middle order gave the initiative back to India.

England were all out for 319 with Duckett scoring 153, and India, in their 2nd innings, were 196/2 at the close of play. Well in command of this Test.

Sobers played for Nottinghamshire from the Summer of 1968 to the end of the 1974 season.

I had a Notts juvenile Season Ticket through all those years and watched him with Bat and Ball.

One innings comes to mind when he built a century stand with last man Barry Stead. Gary scored a Century protecting Stead from the bowling. It was a masterclass of batting

England name their side to face India in the fourth Test in Ranchi, starting Tomorrow morning, 4am GMT.

End of the first day of the fourth Test between India and England and after England win the toss and elected to bat, they had to battle for runs today.

After an opening stand of 47, England lost 3 quick wickets and slumped to 112 for 5 and it was down to Joe Root to steady the ship with his 31st Century, making an unbeaten 106 supported by Ben Foakes, who made 47, and later with Ollie Robinson unbeaten on 31, with England total on 302 for 7 at stumps.

Bazball had to be put on the back burner because conditions were tough for batting.

England battled through and have the runs on the board after the first day, thanks to Joe Root.

India v England

Stumps on Day two of the fourth Test. England find themselves in a good position having restricted India to 219 for 7 in reply to England's 353 all out.

So England will go into the third day tomorrow leading India by 134 runs with 3 Indian wickets to take.

A 100 run lead, if England can achieve it, would be very handy on a wearing wicket.

India v England third day.

England are in danger of losing this Test and the series after India took the initiative on the third day of the fourth Test

Thirteen wickets fell on a day that proved tricky for Batting with a pitch taking lots of spin.

India rallied in the morning and were all out for 307 giving England a lead of 46 on first innings.

England struggled in their second innings and lost wickets regularly on their way to 145 all out leaving India with a target of 192.

Before stumps were called India finished on 40 for 0, well on their way to their target.

England will need quick wickets tomorrow to put India under any pressure at all, otherwise the match should be over some time after lunch tomorrow.

I played alot of cricket for Woolsthorpe CC and Bottesford CC in the SNCL I was a reasonable spin bowler who bowled the occasional long hop and full toss!!!!?... but no where near as many as the English spinners!!!!!...... Hence it will be all too easy for the Indians to knock off the remains runs in the early morning........ Of course i hope iam proved wrong....

Valiant effort by England but India finish on 192 for 5, England's 2nd innings collapse proving decisive.

A terrible day for England after the first day of the fifth Test against India.

England were bowled out for 218 after electing to bat first, then India replied with 135 for the loss of one wicket at stumps.

India end the day well in control and the prospects for England in this match don't look good.

At the end of the 2nd day of the fifth Test, India are well in command of this match, having made 473 for 8 wickets at stumps.

India are 255 runs ahead of England with 2 first innings wickets left.

Looks odds on that India will win the series 4:1, but miracles can happen.
