Notts have had all the possession but concede from a Fleetwood corner.

We have plenty of possession but not doing a lot with it.

The thing about Macca, his reputation was such that the opposition would concentrate on him and that would make space for others.

At the moment Jatta & Scott are not getting that space.

Notts 0 Fleetwood 1. 42 mins.

Great work by Crowley to release Macari who crossed for the big man to stab it home.

McGoldrick gets a yellow card stopping a dangerous break.

Similar to last season, we are getting hit on the break.

That's how it finishes.

Notts 2 Fleetwood 0

Positives.

Great character shown to come from 0:2 down.

Great fighting spirit by Notts.

MATTY PALMER BACK.

Negatives.

Tighten up on crosses & free kicks into the box.

Watch out for being hit on the break.

Notts could easily have won that match today 5:2. Notts had plenty of possession. Very frustrating though to concede 2 goals, but I am delighted that the team showed belief, character & fighting spirit to come back

The second half by Notts was very good apart from conceding that early second half goal

Notts created many chances in the second half and we're the better side over 95 minutes.

Let's be sure, more work to do, & the team needs to gel more & it will come. Pleased to get a point. Notts move on to face Grimsby at Meadow Lane on Thursday.

PS, I think we need a Striker to come in who has pace and can create space for others just like Macca used to do. And please, don't let Crowley or Jones go. They make things happen for Notts big time.

Fleetwood were much better than I imagined yesterday, they might have a point to feel unlucky. Notts did well, but weren't clinical enough in the first half. There were a lot of passes, but little movement. Notts deserved at least a point.

I thought the substitutes made all the difference we really looked good when the came on I though Tousaroulla (if that’s how you spell it) looked really good, the team showed great fighting spirit and they should be commended for that but the defending was disappointing for the two goals.

All in all lots of positives and it was great to be back at the lane.

I'm not sure how Notts didn't win that game, well I actually do when I think about it, an inability to defend set pieces, where have we heard that before......

There were plenty of positives to be fair. Play like that against Grimsby and it will be 3 points in the bag. Fleetwood are dogged. They stuck in there and defended brilliantly. David Harrington in goal is a Cork man like myself. His Dad was a great goalie for Cork City.

Nick Tsaroulla put in a great shift from when he came on. Moving forwards, good runs, passing and tackles. First I have seen of him and was very impressed.

Great to see Matty Palmer back!

Strange game, it was a bit reminiscent of last season’s troubles – but this time were able to fight back and deservedly got something from the game.

I think first half we really struggled to get the ball into their third. Fleetwood set up well defensively and tracked a lot of our key attackers so I felt we needed to be bit quicker with our passing or somebody in the back line needed to try and carry the ball forward to try and draw the attention of a Fleetwood player to create a gap in their defensive set-up. Hinchy is still young and learning our game but he wasn’t really able get on the ball to bridge the gap between our defence and attacker. Crowley did play higher but we didn’t find him very often so he understandably dropped deep. And the left-hand side was like a dead-end road, Chicksen struggled to advance the ball and Scott was just ineffective.

I think we’ll get better at dealing with teams that do just come and sit back and a slight personal change should help too. The team that finished the game looked very comfortable and dominate so hopefully we’ll be able to punish teams a bit earlier on in games that do just sit in a low block. We did look very good in the latter stages of the game, I get that by keeping the ball it does tire the opposition out as Fleetwood did struggle and got deeper and deeper.

Tsaroulla was impressive in his short cameo, looks comfortable on the ball and I think he’ll be perfect as LWB for us. Was great to see Palmer get his first minutes of the season too, he will be like a new signing once he's back up to speed!

On a side note, I thought Alex Bass was excellent yesterday. His shot stopping is top notch. He could do nothing about the goals. An excellent start to his Notts County career.
