Standing ovation for Matt Palmer has he made his return as a substitute. And didn't he make a difference.

A message from Matty Palmer via X.

"After 296 days, what a feeling to be back out there with the lads! Thank you to everyone who has played their part in helping me get back on the pitch and thank you for the incredible reception you fans gave me, it really does mean a lot" ????????

i thought he came back like he had not been away, i like that he was coming wide at times and putting in crosses. there was bits to his game which i do not remember seeing before, such as him taking on players with the ball. usually he passes or turns to put his back as a way to protect the ball until he releases it. i thought his return gave us a big boost with trying to make something of the game.

@liampie I'd love Matty to start against Grimsby however, he may not yet be fully fit to complete a full game.

I agree, when he came on he did make a difference.
