Is I Robot Much Closer to Reality?

Featured Replies

China has introduced human like female robots to the World at the Beijing World Robot Conference.

The fact that these Robots can walk unaided looks awesome.

Technology seems to be excelerating at such a pace now.

It could be just a simple gimmick, but it's a very clever one.

It’s amazing, yes, but also very uncanny, and because of that, I won’t be sleeping well until I get those images from the video out of my mind.

I’d like to kick one over, just to see how it gets back up, if it even would. I’m not looking forward to feeling like I need to sleep with a weapon for the day the machines take over.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Did some research online and came upon this video.

With one Robot, a human tries to trip it up, push it over and punch it down without success

And the Robot can get itself off the floor. Absolutely amazing stuff. But also scary.

Looks like the “robots” in the first video are just humans dressed up as robots. In this link scroll down to see one of the actors having lunch still dressed as a robot.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were fake with smaller people inside them pretending to be robots. I can't watch the video because I get an error message saying the media can't be played.

@Fan of Big Tone

The robots in the second video are unmistakably Robots.

There will always be those who don't believe what they see. Some will say it's AI or animation, but if they are planning to sell these Robots, as working machines, what we see must be real.

Here's another video which includes American built humanoid Robots.

China has been caught faking their robot videos before, using CGI and other things. I wouldn't be surprised if a real robot could walk better. There is a robot world cup, but I think it's not as advanced as people say.

The military robots look something straight up out of Fallout or something. I think there's a huge increase in AI and robotics in general. I don't think it's a smart area to push too far, but naturally it will because world leaders will want to make sure they can defend themselves if they ever do reach the point where they can serve and protect. It just makes you question if there might be a day when they do try to take over.

I thought that Robots were all of the four legged type or had wheels to move about. Didn't realise that two legged Robots were being made that can balance themselves easily.

And they are independent with 2 to 5 hour power packs is another surprise.

I'm concerned @Christhat these Robots will be used for military use, instead of for the good.

What if the Robot software is hacked into?

And what will we see in 10 to 20 years?

It's a bit scary to contemplate such things.

@Robbie, It could be a disaster if machines were used to equip armies and fight. Someone will eventually make it happen, which would force every nation that could afford it to try and do the same. It's a terrible idea that wouldn't improve the world. Peace seems much easier than creating human robots.

In one of the links I posted on this thread the commentator says not to get close to one of these humanoid Robots because it could be dangerous.

That's not encouraging either.

I think I would pass if there was ever an opportunity to buy one to be a helper around the house.
