It was a great innovation when it came onto our television screens. Used to check it out almost every day, but haven't used it for over 20 years or more. Is it still available? Thought it had been discontinued.

so ceefax was the bbc, but teletext was a similar thing but non bbc and commercial?

looking into the difference i found the reason why its called ceefax - see facts. 😛 quite obvious once you know.

@liampie The ITV sevice was called Oracle launched in 1974, replaced by Ceefax in 1993.

I hate it! 😂

The amount of times you would be trying to watch something, only for @super_ram to turn it on and take over the TV screen.

There were some good memories, such as the score updates and the games which were on them. It makes you appreciate the earlier forms of the internet and other communication methods. My children wouldn't know how lucky they are to have mobile phones.
