After today's Result this is going to be another Tough encounter for the Magpies. I'd be Happy with a Point, but unfortunately I can't see it happening because of the Notts injuries. We'll See.

I've just come off the BBC Have Your Say comment section, a Morecambe Fan was bemoaning the Fact that the ball cleared off the line by Didzy, had actually crossed the line. To Which a Notts Fan replied you're Morecambe, but Not Wise. Which I thought was Funny and Kudos to the Fan for their reply.

Carlisle United have always been a challenging opponent, especially on their home turf at Brunton Park. With the current spate of injuries affecting our squad, it's going to be crucial for Stuart Maynard to choose a tactical line-up that can withstand pressure and exploit any weaknesses. I reckon our midfield needs to be robust, and we should capitalise on any counter-attack opportunities. I am hoping for the win, but a draw could be a satisfactory outcome considering the circumstances.

An away day at Carlisle is always tough, and with our current injuries, it looks even harder. Stuart Maynard has his work cut out for him picking a squad that can cope with the home side's physicality. Personally, I'd like to see a strong midfield, maybe bringing in some younger legs to support the more experienced players. Our defence must be sharp and avoid any lapses in concentration. We have to make the most of any set-pieces or breakaway opportunities. Given the circumstances, I'd be content with a point from this fixture. Let's hope the lads put in a good shift.

I'd start Didzy again; his experience is invaluable, especially in tight games.

Facing Carlisle United at Brunton Park is no small task. Stuart Maynard will need to craft a strategic line-up that can handle the pressure from the Blues. I believe we need to focus on solidifying our defence while looking for quick counter-attack opportunities that could catch them off guard. Our midfield will play a key role; they need to be both solid and creative to make an impact.

Additionally, I think this game will test our squad’s depth and resilience. Players like Didzy bring a wealth of experience which could be pivotal in such tight fixtures. With Kellan Gordon hoping to be available for selection and Jatta being on the bench, it would be helpful for our overall strategy. A draw seems like a reasonable expectation here, but football is unpredictable, and surprises can always happen. Let’s remain hopeful and back our team through thick and thin.

Another away game presents a formidable challenge. Stuart Maynard’s selection will be pivotal; we have to strike the right balance between defence and attack. Ensure the backline is resilient while allowing our midfield the freedom to support forwards on the break. Highlighting Didzy’s knack for clutch moments, his presence might just be the spark we need in a close contest. Given our recent results, coming away with a point would be a positive step. Football is unpredictable, so we always have a chance. Let’s hope for an uplifting performance from the lads!

One thing is for sure, Notts need to attack as a team in the first half and not wait until the second to produce the goods. I am sure the Gillingham defeat has been frustrating for the players, as would conceding early against Morecambe. This is another tough task on paper and we need to play at our best.

I wouldn’t change anything defensively, other than perhaps including Kellan Gordon. I think in midfield, if Scott Robertson is fit, allow him to partner Matt Palmer and give George Abbott a chance to impact the team from the bench. I fully expect David McGoldrick and Dan Crowley to start. I don’t see Jevani Brown starting as I think Maynard sees him as a good attacking option for the bench.

I'm travelling over for this game. I'm combining it with a trip to see Carlisle Castle and Cathedral. If anyone here is going, let me know and I'll say hello.

Carlisle have won 2 games and lost 6 so far. They are 3rd from bottom. They conceded 2 goals in the last 10 minutes and lost 3-2 at home to Grimsby. I watched a couple of highlights from their home games and they create and give up a fair amount of opportunities. Notts will exploit that so I'd imagine they'll tweak it a bit. I'm expecting goals. It could easily be a 7 goal thriller. 4-3 to Notts I reckon. And a Cumberland Sausage Roll for me. Mmmm.......

Two bottom-half teams, a draw wouldn’t quite do it. Not back to back and certainly not against another team that is struggling. I think Stuart Maynard needs to pull something out of his bag, as it would only lead to silly comments if we weren’t able to return with the maximum amount of points. A draw wouldn’t be bad but it would be somewhat of a setback and right now the team needs a good response which only a win would bring.

Traveling to Brunton Park to meet Carlisle is always a toughie for any team especially for an evening kick off too

I think that the Notts preparation for this match has to be spot on. The news that Jodi is out till the end of the year at least is a blow, however I'm sure the players will try to reduce the impact of Jodi's absence to a minimum.

I believe Stuart should bring back Macari to start the match in defence with, Platt & Bedeau, with Bass behind them in goal.

I agree that Robertson should start partnering Palmer in the centre of midfield. I would like to see Gordon play on the right & Tsaroulla on the left.

I would have Crowley & Grant supporting McGoldrick up front.

If Jatta is fit to be on the subs bench, that would be a big lift for the team otherwise it's Slocombe, McDonald, Hinchy, Abbott, Martin, Austin & Brown on the bench.

I think that Notts need to start very well & ensure that they don't concede an early goal. Notts will have to be at their best in defence & in the midfield area, because I think that this match will be a physical & attritional battle.

Notts have shown lots of character when the chips have been down & they'll need it here too. I'm sure teams have watched the Morecambe match & how they frustrated Notts for long periods.

I believe lots of teams will try to follow Morecambe's example, & try to do the same to nullify the Notts passing & attacking game. Notts just need to battle hard & ensure they take the opportunities that come along.

I'm hoping for a positive result. I would be pleased with a draw.

I want to see the defence stand up to Carlisle United and make sure that they won’t try to pen us back in our own half. Morecambe did that well, and it could be something teams try to latch onto. We need to be direct, unafraid to get fouled but protect ourselves in the process. I believe the team is good enough.

So, fingers crossed for a win but it won’t be easy. David McGoldrick needs support to be at his best on goal.

We need to start brighter than we did against Morecambe, I think Carlisle are more capable than them as a team - with no disrespect to Morecambe. I just feel Carlisle have a stronger squad, even though they have started poorly.

I think the game should be a lot more controlled, as compared to Morecambe. I don't see Carlisle wasting energy or throwing themselves into the game straight away. I can see them being more patient on the ball and structured at the back. I would agree, Jevani Brown is unlikely to start. I am hoping we do see Kellan Gordon because he looks to be the best option we have with Jodi Jones being injured.

I am sure whatever line-up Stuart Maynard chooses, we'll be competitive, and I am sure we will start better.

Notts just needs to be structured at the back, and a lot more careful when committing themselves to crosses and corners.

i think we know we need to be brighter and work as a team not just in defence, i am hoping we can work stronger at how we move the ball so that players dont tire chasing after attacks which are unlikely to mount to something. we need to make sure we have multiple passing options moving forward just so that we dont focus to much on passing back.

the game is winnable, but we would need to be much better than we were against morecambe, if we can play as we did against them in the 70th minute mark but for longer against carlisle we might just do that.

The defeat to Gillingham and our injuries have set back our performances, but we haven’t been that bad. I believe Carlisle will be more organised and a bigger threat on goal, but we need to make our greater possession count. We have the players, so it will be interesting to see how Stuart Maynard approaches it.

Carlisle United away represents a major test for Stuart Maynard and his squad, particularly with our current injury issues. A strategic approach is needed, focusing on a solid defensive setup and a robust midfield capable of controlling the tempo and minimising errors. Our experienced players like Didzy will need to lead and mentor the younger members of the squad, whose energy could be vital in maintaining our pressing game and counter-attacks.

The midfield battle will be key; we need players who can both disrupt Carlisle's play and instigate our own attacks. Set-pieces could be our golden opportunities, so the lads need to be sharp and ready to exploit any chances that come their way. Despite the difficulties, football can always surprise us, and with the right mentality, a win is not out of reach. A well-earned draw would also be a positive outcome, given the circumstances. Let’s support the team fervently and remain optimistic.

I think it's one of those games where we should do better. I can't see Carlisle wanting to sit back and wait. While they might be patient, I fully expect them to try and overpower Notts. They have some very good young players who, on their day, can change a game in an instant. The problem is, when they attack, they can leave themselves wide open, and Notts should go at them directly. It would be good to see some shots from near the edge of the box. It's a tough game to predict, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended 2-2 or 2-3. I just hope we show our quality and leave knowing we gave it our all.

Travelling to Brunton Park to face Carlisle United is no small feat, especially with the current spate of injuries hitting the squad. Stuart Maynard will need to bring out his tactical acumen to put out a balanced and resilient team. I believe he should focus on a fortified defence to block Carlisle's advances, while also ensuring we have the spark in midfield to create opportunities. Bringing in younger players could provide a fresh dynamic, albeit the experienced talents like Didzy will be key in maintaining composure.

Carlisle's home advantage will undoubtedly put us under pressure, but we need to keep our defensive lines tight and organised. Making the most of set-pieces and counter-attacks could be our way to break through their defence. It’s crucial to avoid the mistakes we made in previous games, especially conceding early. Football can always surprise us, and while a draw seems a reasonable expectation, I wouldn’t rule out a win.

Stuart Maynard faces a daunting task setting up the team for this match against Carlisle United. Our injuries are mounting, and every player's performance will be crucial. We need to have a robust midfield to control the game, and our defence must be rock-solid to avoid conceding early goals. It’s essential we exploit counter-attacking opportunities effectively. A draw seems like the most realistic outcome, but I am always hopeful we can grab all three points. Regardless of the result, it’s important that we see effort and resilience from the lads.
