I don’t understand the appointment. Why choose someone inexperienced when you need points to avoid relegation? Am I missing something, or is he actually a good manager?

I don't think it does make any sense, if he had some actual experience than it might to some extent but all it looks like is an appointment in name value only.

He's been appointed because he has a big name and is well known nationally, as well as being a brilliant footballer.

But brilliant footballers don't always make brilliant managers.

I think this appointment is a big mistake by Leicester City & it will come back to bite them.

If it works out, I think most football fans will be surprised because I don't think it will. Leicester City fans surely won't be happy?

At the end of the day, Leicester City’s appointment is their business. We’ve got our own team to support, and if they want to make it easier to return to the Championship so be it. I would just wish them well, as I have no issue with them as a club or their fans, but my focus is on our team. To be honest, I am sick of the silly appointments at the top level and how easily they discard managers. It happens at every level, but up there it usually makes little sense with who replaces each other.

Looking at Leicester’s situation, it’s clear how important it is to find the right manager. I think they have made the wrong appointment in Ruud van Nistelrooy. I am more than happy to admit if I get this wrong, but if this was Notts I would be questioning the club's ambition and logic behind it. If Leicester succeeds, they deserve credit. But right now, it doesn't seem that it will turn out rosy for them. We’ve got a good thing going ourselves, and I believe we’re in safe hands, so I just wish them well.

Christ! What is Leicester City thinking! A lot of crap appointments are being made in football right now, it really is uninspiring and concerning. You might as well place your money on them to be relegated now.

I’ll be honest, the constant managerial changes at the higher levels don’t inspire me much. We’re in a good place now, and it's all about sticking together as a club. Leicester City haven't had a good track record with their managerial appointments.

It's uninspiring and lacks ambition from the outside, but who knows? He could be a good coach, and make an excellent manager in time. With an appointment like this, you really have to back them through the difficult spells and just hope it pays off in the long term. Leicester City fans might be concerned about relegation, and I am not exactly sure how they help them to avoid that, but I think it's a matter of time. Manchester United seem to have wanted to push him out the door, so it makes you wonder, and I am aware that they are trying to reduce what salaries they are spending, but this seems off to me.

Interesting move for Leicester City, but as a Notts fan, I’ve seen enough managerial turnover to know stability is key. I am not exactly sure how this appointment will turn out, I half expect it to end in tears, but he could do well. They need someone who they will stand by, so hopefully it won't end in disaster for them.
