Posted December 2, 2024Dec 2 #1 Morning all 8 degrees and cloudy here. We’re waiting for the carpet fitter to fit our bedroom loft carpet, rather them than me, it’s a rather awkward shape with a narrow corridor leading to the other side of the loft where we store things. Hopefully they’ll come early so we can go out but we’ll probably wait in and they won’t come till afternoon. Sod’s Law. Have a great day folks.

Wife will get all the Xmas ornaments out later. Xmas music on Alexa. Getting into the swing of things. Just listening to Santa Baby with Eartha Kitt, followed by Elvis, Blue Xmas. Xmas starts early in this house.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Author #3 Far too early @Robbie you'll be bored with it all before the big day.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 #4 @Robbie stick on 'Driving home for Christmas' and 'Stop the Cavalry'. You remind me of myself as I browse through stores. ???? I don't have any plans today, just working on site stuff as per usual. I am hoping to catch up with @super_ram, as soon as he arrives home. I had hoped to be able to go to Walsall, but it doesn't look likely with it being a Tuesday night. I also don't want to tempt fate, as I feel I have adjusted to the cold now (body wise) and have been feeling a lot better as of late. At the weekend, for the Colchester match - I'll be in an executive box thanks to my friend successfully hitting the crossbar. He's the same friend who has been dragging me out, and getting me to away games - so I really want him and his partner to enjoy the experience. Until the weekend, it's time to crack on. ????

December 2, 2024Dec 2 #6 Christmas stuff already @Robbie? It's only just December! Our ornaments are staying firmly in their box for at least another two weeks. And Christmas songs? I've got to echo @Fan of Big Tone: However, I did go to the local Christmas market at the weekend, where I had my first mulled wine of the season. That's allowed, because I say it is. Enjoy your VIP experience @Chris, and don't forget to tell us how the other half live!
December 3, 2024Dec 3 Author #7 Good morning, it’s a pretty cold Tuesday morning at 2 degrees. I’ve just been awarded a helpful badge, that’s new thank you PoN and I assume @Chris I shall “wear” it with pride. ???? The carpet was laid yesterday, we had to hoover up lots of fluff from the carpet and they left all the remnants for us to dispose of apart from that it looks great. Today, we’ll be putting all the furniture back and sorting it all out, tonight I’ll be watching the match on Sky Sports+ let’s hope we get a positive result, I’d take a draw right now. COME ON YOU PIES!
December 3, 2024Dec 3 Author #9 Forgot to say, I’ve lost half a stone since coming back off my latest holiday. I just need to lose a couple of pounds to get below 13 stone before Christmas then I can eat all the goodies and put it all back again. ????
December 3, 2024Dec 3 #10 Good Morning. Reasonable morning here with some blue sky but it is a little chilly once again. Had a food delivery this morning. Some of the items not available. I do think the supermarkets give priority to those shoppers visiting the store. I'm sure that if I visited the store I would find a "not available" food item on the shelf. I know because I've seen it for myself. Looking forward to the match tonight. It's going to be a toughie, but I hope Notts can get a positive result.

I won't lie, I am looking forward to watching Notts in a nice and warm room. Even if I won't hear the game as well, I will still probably be as animated as always. ???? PS. We know you love Christmas, don't hide it. I actually forgot about the feature, plus that @Piethagoram had been awarded one for being the Member of the Month. I'm going to add more badges/awards. ---- Today, I am taking it easy. I had wanted to go to Walsall, but it's not worked out. I have things I can be doing though, so I will focus on them. There's not much else I can really add.
December 3, 2024Dec 3 #12 @piethagoram.bsky.social on Bluesky BSKY.APP Polish glassware mini Christmas Tree with a bottle of Port Not the full Christmas tree just yet. Just a glass of Port awaiting!
December 3, 2024Dec 3 #13 i have not long arrived in walsall, we [@TheSkipper @Joshua] are going to get something to eat and have a walk around the outside of the ground. thankfully my line manager allowed me to finish work early due to all the overtime i put in. hes a forest fan, but is quite friendly towards notts. congratulations on the badges @Fan of Big Tone and @Robbie. i will try to comment on the game if its not cold on the hands. ????
December 3, 2024Dec 3 #14 @liampie Stay warm & safe. Hope you come back with a positive result tonight. Would be great to read your comments on the game as you are there watching it.
December 4, 2024Dec 4 #15 It will soon be time to hit the sack. Dissapointing that Notts lost but the players available to Stuart did their best for the team. Looking at the other results, only three teams of the top ten won tonight, Walsall, MKDons & Grimsby. Teams around Notts are dropping points too, yet on X you'd think Notts losing is an absolute disaster. Six of our best players are missing. They could easily be all in the starting eleven come January. No one can tell the future, but there are still 28 games & 84 points to play for. The likes of Jones, Crowley, Edwards, Grant, Abbott, & Platt coming back is a mouthwatering prospect. X land shouldn't be writing off the Magpies just yet.
December 4, 2024Dec 4 Author #16 Morning all a cold start to Wednesday at 2 degrees. @Robbie I find it’s best not to read posts on social media when Notts haven’t won, it’s really depressing how fickle some fans are. The people on here are much more realistic and positive thinking. Tonight I’m going to the pub to see a friend and old work colleague to have a chinwag, I won’t be drinking beer though I’m off the booze until Christmas, any suggestions of a nice low calorie non alcoholic drink I could have instead?
December 4, 2024Dec 4 #17 i am starting to feel like its cold enough to snow, the yard out back is not a good place to working. even with me being wrapped up, it feels very chilly. the drive to work this morning, i thought there might be chance for a downpour but i have not yet seen any rain. i am counting down the hours until i can get myself home.
December 4, 2024Dec 4 Author #18 I don’t envy you working outside @liampie I hope you can thaw out when you get home.
December 4, 2024Dec 4 #19 Today's been a pretty shoddy day for me, but I won't go into details. But if Granny Pie was still with us, she'd threaten to put me into a sack and shake me up. Or one of the many wise things she used to say. It's always disappointing when things improve late on. There's not been much to say, Super is currently away. My children have all been to Uni, college and school. It seemed a bit "too quiet" earlier, but that soon changed once they were all home. ???? I found time to watch 'Face/Off', when I didn't feel sleepy or tired. It was alright, not the best film, but I felt amazed that I didn't recall ever seeing it before until today. I quite like finding those rarer films I haven't seen.
December 4, 2024Dec 4 Author #20 Back from the pub, putting the world to rights over a Diet Coke with my friend (a Forest fan ugh) apart from his football leanings he’s a decent sort. I’m going to bed in a minute where I’ll watch Match of the Day and hopefully see Forest get a pasting. I’ve not seen the result yet.
December 5, 2024Dec 5 #21 Good evening. Went shopping this morning to get some things we forgot to get delivered on Tuesday. Glad I did. Salmon sides were half price with Tesco Clubcard, so I bought three of them, saved £35. The wife cuts them into portions, bags them then we freeze them. Made 20 portions altogether. Salmon always used to be cheaper up to Xmas as shoppers tend to ignore the fish for the meat. @Fan of Big Tone looks like you got your wish, Forest well beaten last night. Their next match is Man U away on Saturday. Could lose big again.

December 6, 2024Dec 6 Author #23 Good morning, it’s a chilly 6 degrees here, we are certainly experiencing some wild weather at the moment and more to come apparently. Stay safe everyone especially if travelling. We’ve ordered some Christmas presents from Amazon so I think we are just about sorted now just need some food and drink nearer Christmas, we always get enough to feed an army for a fortnight. Have a great day everyone.
December 6, 2024Dec 6 #24 Today, I am firmly in work mode ahead of tomorrow's game. Things are progressing very nicely, even managed to start a bit earlier than normal. I haven't really done much around the house, other than on my laptop and PON related. I'll be setting off for The Magpie Circles live podcast at some point. I'll be taking pictures of the event. I'm glad today is much better than yesterday, I had to go out when it was pouring it down and whilst the rain doesn't bother me - I am glad it's just dull today.
December 6, 2024Dec 6 #25 Late into the evening, the rain is pouring down here and the wind's picking up a lot. We've already had some strong gusts too. Will be hoping that the storm can pass without major incident in the North Nottinghamshire area. There is a flood alert out for Mansfield so will see how that develops. The River Maun has been known to flood some parts of Mansfield at times when there is prolonged heavy rain. Hope the strong winds don't affect that match too much on Saturday afternoon. Strong winds won't suit Notts too much, but I guess it will be the same for both sides so fingers crossed.
