Great piece of management by Stuart putting the same side out that failed miserably against Salford.

The players had very much to prove and they passed with flying colours today.

This could have been a hard match with the conditions today but the team responded to Stuart's rallying call and did him proud

I think we have to give credit where credit's due to Stuart & his team who prepared the team to perform the way they did.

Crowley had his best game since returning from injury & I think he was the driving force today.

If Notts can play the way they did today they aren't going to lose many matches going forward, & with more players to return, things are looking good again.

The January window might be the icing on the cake if it is a good window for Notts.

could not agree more with all of this, I think its obvious the players play for Stu and the assistants. Hopefully this puts the Maynard out knobbers back in their box for a bit.

Can't feel more sorry for the guy losing 6/7 of his preferred starting 11 and then dealing with the maynard out crowd on the socials. hopefully January is a good time for late christmas presents ;) ideally in midfield i think, although wouldn't say no to a Macca loan return ;)

That result was just what we wanted and hopefully silence the fickle moaners for a while, it’s amazing what a win can do this sets us up nicely for the hectic Christmas period, well done Stuart Maynard and well done the lads.

That was a much-needed win, and after that crazy 5-minute spell that effectively won us the game we had a really solid second half and didn’t let Bradford create a clear-cut chance.

We did struggle to play against the Bradford press at times in the second half but we didn’t do anything stupid this time. And we probably created the best chance of the second half too. We didn’t control the game in manor we perhaps want to but we made up for it by being well organised limiting Bradford to half-chances and long shots. I think we missed an out-ball in that second half, someone with pace who could punish teams when they step up on to us. Feels like Martin is just here to make up the numbers and Brown just isn’t having much of an impact.

I saw an article in the week about Baldwin and Platt and how both clubs got a good deal. Now I’m grateful for his time with us, I’ll always remember his goals saving us in the Boreham Wood play-off, but my word we absolutely got the better deal! Today Platt was just super solid, won pretty much all his duels and made some vital clearances.

A badly needed 3 points. The next 2 are away before we face Walsall at home so we needed a win to take momentum into the Fake Dons game. 3 points is a nice Christmas present as well.

I think Matty Platt's performance has gone somewhat unnoticed because he was a vital part of the backline. I thought he was superb at the back, and stood out within my top five performances (he actually earned my vote in the Man of the Match poll). Jacob Bedeau also did very well, although at times he did risk picking up more yellows if not more with some of those lovely timed barges/pushes on the advancing Bradford players. Bradford City passed the ball around quite well, and prior to our goals they did seem to be testing Alex Bass more.

David McGoldrick is the glue that gets us playing; his relentless effort to get us moving forward really put a halt to the passing backwards prior to our opening goal. There was a lot of sighing prior to that, and I understand it opens up the opposition, but it can be wasteful.

It was a bit disappointing when McGoldrick had the chance, where he wasted it by not shooting - despite plenty of time, but he really did make up with it.

City was quite poor, but their fans until we scored I thought were brilliant. Walking out when the 2nd goal went in, I think that is pathetic support. I have seen Notts get battered away to Rotherham United sat in the home end, and never dreamt of leaving. Credit to the fans who stayed, the numbers were really great to see, and I think we all hoped that their players would make a game of it. Unfortunately, they were poor.

Some Notts fans think we don't stand up for other selves, and have no 'dirty' side to our play. Yet if anyone watched Platt and Bedeau, then you will know they took no nonsense from Bradford. Callum Kavanagh, he had those antics I don't like to see from players. Pulling on Bass's shirt, not just when he tried to get him to drop the ball but from corners. I loved seeing him get his comeuppance with being flattered.

When he put his reckless challenge on Sam Austin, it just made him more of a target and honestly, it was great to see from us because it made him very ineffective.

Second half, I didn't think we were that good. There were spells, and chances came, but we gave the ball away too much. Bass's distribution was awful, but so was the passing of the majority of the final 45 minutes. It highlights just how poor Bradford are, when they couldn't take advantage of it. For about 30 minutes, we relied on defending and Bass to stop them from scoring, so the clean sheet feels all the more special.

It was a great win, but I noticed the players arrived later than usual. It ignited speculation that the club was convening in response to Salford's performance. I doubt anything special would have been arranged, as leading to games players go through the previous game. Also, what is this about Dan Crowley wanting to leave after the end of last season? There’s an overwhelming amount of gossip that feels completely irrelevant in terms of need at this point in time.

It just seems designed to drag up negativity, which is very counterproductive.

@chris.

Did Abbott have a reasonable game from your standpoint? I always check on ratings for the Notts players post game & according to those, he didn't figure too high this time.

Nice summing up here👇

A great and deserved result. More of the same please!

The three-goal blast in the first half put what had been a pretty even game to bed. Bradford were more in control in the second half, but for all their huffing and puffing it was Notts who came closer to scoring again. Fistly through McGoldrick's shot - the Bradford defence just opened up beautifully for and invited the shot, I only realise afterwards that Jatta was arriving at the far post. I don't blame him for having a crack. And secondly Jatta's scuffed effort, with the backspin on the ball stopping it from crossing the line. But we were already 3-0 up by that stage.

Crowley oozed quality and Austin worked incredibly hard (him winning possession led to our third goal). I don't think Abbott stood out as much purely because the rest of the team stepped up. And we definitely got the better deal from the Platt/Baldwin swap!
