What a moment for George Abbott.

2-0 probably flatters MK in the end, especially after a very good second half showing from us. McGoldrick just didn’t read the flight of the ball but should’ve put us 1-0 up after about 60 seconds in the second half. And then Tsaroulla crossed one onto to Jatta’s foot and he put it wide, I bet in training sessions he finishes them all the time.

I think we were decent in the first half, we were solid enough but something wasn’t quite right attack wise. Maybe a bit too safe as we lacked runners, Crowley had a lot of the ball in good positions but he was forced to play backwards to often. And then a lot of our attacks ended up with Bedeau and Macari playing the final ball, not who you ideally want.

We changed that second half and looked a lot more of a threat though. It was a really solid and impressive win in the end. That was the exact type of performance we’ve been after, the style and substance was back. And please let this be the death of inverted wingbacks now, Austin and Tsaroulla look so much more comfortable playing more with their stronger foot.

If MK do bid for Crowley like they allegedly did in the summer, I’d be really disappointed if he joined them cos on that performance only one team looks like they have a chance of getting promoted. He will be playing in League 1 next season – hopefully with us!

Bench is really weak at the moment, again… SM clearly doesn’t favour Gordon or Brown at the moment and Martin and Cisse are just making up the numbers. But given all the matches coming up in this short space of time I was amazed McGoldrick wasn’t subbed for Brown at 70 mins. Also, what has happened to Scott? Having recently just come back, he's disappeared again.

I’ve also wondered this, and can only think that he is struggling with his health, otherwise he should at least be on the bench. Surely we will be replacing both Martin and Brown in January? Neither have done enough to stay with us.

I must admit that after the Salford game I was bemoaning the decisions made by the management  in playing 4 players out of position, it just shows what happens when the square pegs end up back in the square holes.

Firstly, they're not the Dons. The Dons nickname was given to Wimbledon due to a nearby college. It has nothing to do with the Buckinghamshire entity that stole Wimbledon's League place, no matter what they write on their badge. It's interesting to note that the home team had a fancy dress party today, with many of the alleged 7500 home fans coming dressed as black seats.

It was a great performance. I missed a chunk of the first half, but from what I saw we were largely in control but maybe a bit too risk-averse to get anything telling on goal. When one of our players won the ball deep in the opposition's half, they looked up to see very few orange shirts in the vicinity. That changed in the second half - we played with intensity high up the pitch and the home team couldn't catch a breath (a five-minute wobble aside). We scored our second at just the right time, and from then on the result was never in doubt.

Bass was the calm, reliable presence in goal we've been missing for so long; Abbott oozed class and thoroughly deserved his goal; Crowley was Crowley. The result puts a bit of distance between us and the teams below, but League Two is so tight this season that anyone in the top half can legitimately dream of automatic promotion, and that includes us.

We started the first half well and were the better side in the early exchanges. Half way through the first half we seem to change tack and engage MK in a battle of 'who can pass it sideways and backwards' the best. Nobody won, least not the fans. Crowd was flat and it was all a bit 'seen this before' at HT.

Thankfully the second half was totally different and Notts really got to grips with an ineffective Miltone Keynes. The 2-0 scoreline flattered them a bit, both Didzy and Jatta particularly wasteful.

As for former Notts players; Lemon head Evans has never convinced me in or out of a Notts shirt. Nemane is dangerous, but he does little with it.

A few opinions from MK Fans...

"Despite us being utterly woeful, I thought they were brilliant. By far the best team to come to StadMK this season. Their movement and passing was tearing us apart and it looked easy for them. Our players should be embarrassed about how the Notts players made them look."

"They were superb until the final third. Should've been 6"

"I don’t think we have ever been dominated as much that in L2 in Le Stad. Outside of Crawley in the Play-offs, that was the worst I have seen us at home in this division."

Got to get Cheltenham Town fans saying the same thing on Sunday now!

i felt a bit disappointed with the attention some of our fans gave aaron nemane, players move on and if anything i felt it could backfire on us what with the score remaining level going into the second half. i thought it was a decent game, a lot of comments near to me suggest we have no fire power but we are relying on the strikers a lot and without rest. i was pleased when george abbott took his moment, it was a very well taken goal and the second half was a brilliant display from us.

I really don’t know why fans boo ex-players and as you say @liampie very often it can backfire (Nemane or Nemarnay as the commentator insisted on calling him) was an excellent player for us, fans should be applauding him not booing.
