Good morning, a new week, I hope everyone is well.

Its a cold morning at 1.7 degrees outside, our snow is still lingering a bit on the garden and roofs but hopefully the roads are now clear, we’ve got a bit of sleet at the moment but it should be dry later. I hope we can get out for a walk if it’s dry.

How’s everyone else coping with the weather? Keeping warm I hope. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All.

We had some snow this morning but most of it has now melted, so at least around here we have not had the amount of snowfall that was predicted.

We do have a flood alert in the Town though.

I was a little annoyed last night after visiting the local hospital with a relative. We were only there for an hour but was charged £8 for parking..

You have to pay at a machine inside the hospital when you leave and the car park has cameras fitted that take your reg number, but the receipt said that my car had been there since 6am rather than the 5pm when we arrived.

I was given an email address to appeal the charge, but I'm told it could be up to thirty days before a decision is made.

Apparently, there has been lots of complaints of overcharging. Sorry for the rant but Hospital Car parks are certainly a money making industry nowadays.

Anyone else had problems with hospital charging too much?

Good morning, it’s another cold one, the temperature dropped to 1.3 overnight, thankfully the snow has all gone now.

@Robbie I hope you get your parking fee refunded that’s scandalous, I thought those camera things were foolproof, how can it register you arriving at 6am when you didn’t arrive until 5pm? It must be a fault in which case others will have been stung too. Hopefully if they get a lot of similar complaints they’ll realise the equipment is faulty.

@Fan of Big Tone Good news. I've had an email from the Car Park Company to say that I will receive a refund within 3 to 5 days. It doesn't say how much, but it's a positive development.

Well that’s better than 30 days, they must be aware of the issue.

We’ve just had a brief snow shower, then it turned sunny now it’s going cloudy again, good job Mrs. T didn’t put the washing on the line, the air would be blue now.

What’s it like in the frozen north of Mansfield @Robbie have you had any snow today.

Well we went for a walk and with perfect timing just we got half way round and it was too late to turn back we were engulfed in blizzard like conditions, I looked like a snowman, we’ve just got back and had to change all our clothes we were wet through.

And guess what? As soon as we were back in the house it stopped and the sun came out. Rassin Frassin weather. :veryangry::censored:

Apparently they have been getting a lot of correspondence so there must be a problem where car park customers are being overcharged.

I noticed that in some areas of the car park the lighting wasn't very good, so I'm wondering if the cameras have a problem reading the reg plate of cars, & if it cannot be read it defaults to 6 am, instead of the time a car actually arrived.

Morning all an icy start -1.7 degrees here so a hard frost, in the bad old days of travelling to work I had to set off at 6.50am to get to the office for 7.30, I’m so glad I don’t have to do that now, mind you I’d probably be working from home now, I would have liked that.

Have a lovely day and stay warm if you can.

Very cold and miserable here in Aspley.A hard frost so, a lot of  white outside ,especially on roofs.Glad I don't have to go out today.

We went out to the vet to get some medicine for the cat it’s only up the road and we were planning going further but the pavements were really icy so we doubled back to stay in the rest of the day. The white frost has lingered all day and there’s predicted to be another frost tonight. :panic:

It's been very cold here today with the temperature steady just below freezing.

There has been frost on the ground all day here on our back garden.

A cold night is forecast here with a possible low of -6 deg. In Scotland they are forecasting -15 Deg, the coldest in 15 years.

Just wondering if there's a possibility that the Grimsby match may be called off if the cold weather persists.

Morning @Robbie, morning everyone, it’s -3.7 here this morning, I reckon there’s every likelihood the game will be called off, the temperature isn’t set to improve until next week.

Another cold morning here with temperatures below zero.

Lots of snow up in Scotland . I'm sure the ski resort at Aviemore is getting lots of business.

I suppose there will be lots of businesses hoping the cold weather continues, as they trade in winter clothing & supply equipment for winter pursuits.

I must admit I did try some skating as a boy at the Nottingham Ice rink, but I spent more time flat out on the Ice rather than Skating.

Good morning another really cold morning here, according to my weather gadget the temperature dropped to -4.3 overnight. :cold:

@Robbie when I was in sixth form at school we were allowed to go to the ice rink in Nottingham as part of our physical education, I could barely skate but it was worth going not only to get away from school but there were also lots of girls going too.

Right on with the day I suppose I’d better get up and have some breakfast.

Looking forward to tonight’s meal, Mrs. T is cooking a chicken and butternut squash Thai red curry, I can’t remember having a Thai curry before, I hope it’s as good as the Indian ones.

I’ve been a good boy and had no alcohol all week so I reckon my liver will be sufficiently recovered to treat my self to a pint but what shall I have, in my booze cupboard I’ve got London Pride, Speckled Hen, Hobgoblin and Titanic Porter. Decisions, decisions. ????

Another very cold morning here. The temperature got down to -5C in the middle of the night.

Funnily enough, there is not a cloud in the sky today here, & the sun is very bright but not having much affect on the temperature.

The Weather people are saying it could be the coldest night of the year tonight. One thing is certain, the energy companies are making lots of money at the moment.

My concern is for all those vulnerable people who are going to struggle to pay their energy bills when the time comes.

I had a hastily scheduled visit to the UK at the weekend and the start of the week. Maybe it's just the places I hang out in, but I was cold all the time! It's such a relief to be in the warm again.

Then there was the journey. The trip there took me seven and a half hours door to door (via Manchester), so not bad at all. The return journey took over 13 hours, with me arriving home just before midnight and starting work the next morning. I have been completely exhausted all week.

It's not been as cold in Germland, but we are hovering around zero degrees this weekend. No doubt it'll be a bit chilly in Grimsby too - wrap up if you're going!

Good Morning.

The match has been called off between Grimsby & Notts just 1.5 hours before the match was due to start.

I'm so upset for the many hundreds of fans that made the journey this morning.

Why wasn't there a Referee's inspection last night? Without undersoil heating the match was always going to be in doubt.

They desperately wanted the match to go ahead for the sake of the TV coverage.

Lessons are never learned from previous times when matches were called off late.

I don't travel away these days but if I was still doing so I wouldn’t have travelled for this game, it was blindingly obvious the game would be called off after hard frosts for the last 3 or 4 nights. It should have been called off yesterday at the latest.
