Good morning, I t’s a new week, a cool cloudy day here. I’m still feeling under the weather, coughing, sneezing, headache, sore throat etc. but a lot of folk would swap with me, man flu is nothing to what some people have to put up with.

I’m not doing much today, bank holidays don’t mean much when you’re retired it’s just another day, I’m just staying in and keeping warm, I hope everyone else is ok? What are you all up to today?

It hasn't rained here but it was cloudy all day and chilly outside. Wrapped myself up today when I did my walk.

Just a quiet day in on this bank holiday Monday. Watched a few Westerns on the box. It is years since I watched High Noon with Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly & Lee Van Cleef.

It is still a classic & can hold itself against any modern film as far as I'm concerned. Is it just me but I don't see modern acting in the same league compared to those actors from the golden age of Hollywood.

Thanks @super_ram I think I’m slowly recovering, I’ve had a little walk to the shops and back which wore me out so resting up now, it’s amazing how a bug can make you feel weak.

It was a reasonable day here weather wise but the wind was chilly.

Completed a five mile walk this morning. I always take a drink with me & a bite to eat when walking just in case.

Watched a good film tonight called Gemini Man with Will Smith. A good action movie.

Nice start to the morning here. Looks like it is going to be a reasonable day.

We haven't had any prolonged rain for several weeks here. We've only needed to cut the lawn once in several weeks.

Woke up this morning to the following news from abroad.

Looks like hostilities have started between India & Pakistan & the Cardinals are meeting in Rome to choose a new Pope.

Morning all, a cloudy start, hopefully the sun will get his hat on later. I see @Piethagoram is on his travels around Europe, enjoy yourself.

We watched the film “Darkest Hour” last night, a film largely about Churchill and his struggles as our army was stranded on the beach at Dunkirk and it looked like defeat and invasion was imminent, it seemed an apt film for the Anniversary of VE Day which is today, it reminded me how lucky we are to be living in this era of peaceful times (for Britain at least.)

I can’t imagine the horrors our parents went through during those times.

Lovely morning here with plenty of blue sky.

Spent an hour in the garden this morning tidying up

Will be sitting out in the garden later with the Mrs.

My DVD packed up last night after 20 years of useful service.

Ordered a new one. Should receive it this afternoon. Not expecting this new one to last 20 years.

Well, I played the three PON word games today. It certainly gets your brain working. Wasn't confident but managed to solve all three today.

Tomorrow is another day but it's an encouraging start.

Our DVD player is sitting under the telly, unused and unloved. It's not even plugged in. We normally stream our favourite series now, although we're currently watchng Let's Dance (German Strictly) on normal TV.

Talking of technology, my toaster exploded this week and the electricity in half the house went off. It quite literally went out with a bang. And I managed to tip a mango lassi into my keyboard today (luckily a cheap one I've been using since 2007). When the robots inherit the earth, I'll be first on their hit list.

Good morning, it’s matchday and obviously a very important match for Notts today, I hope we can get a good result to take to Wimbledon.

I’m a bit ashamed to say I won’t be at this match, 8pm kick off on Saturday night doesn’t appeal to me at all so after discussing with a Chloe we’ll be watching on the telly with beer (for me) and pizzas.

We’ve been lumbered with grandchildren Chloe and Fred this weekend while their mum and dad are away and a nice walk down the canal for lunch at the pub will be todays adventure, if we can get them out of bed.

Have a great day folks and COME ON YOU PIES!

I've had a bit more of a productive week, but it has seen me have far less time online than I would have liked.

Partly due to finishing portraits of all the new signings, which meant re-doing Jacob Bedeau, to which I made a mistake with the initial version. No, I didn't misspell his name. I hadn't rendered him well. I don't like leaving players out. Bedeau did look at me after Doncaster as if to say, "Where is mine?" As I gave a copy to Robertson, Edwards and Grant and asked them to sign a few for me.

It could be me overthinking, but I am aware that some of the players look forward to them. One player actually heaped praise on their print, as Grant signed the few copies I asked him to pen.

I managed to get to see @super_ram, with @super_pie joining me. That is the highlight, as I really enjoyed catching up in person.

I finished Bedaeu, Whitaker, Jarvis, Ness, McDonald and Traore by late Wednesday.

My focus then moved to doing a special one for those who have subscribed to the site, something which has kept the lights on and made things a lot less stressful for me. I had hoped to do that all by Thursday, as it doesn't include full bodies, which is very time-consuming, but I had to finish it off Friday. Then, I went to get them printed with @super_pie. Not a joyful trip, due to pain, but I enjoyed the bonding time with Jake. I did feel very guilty that it took a few hours to get back home, with a wasted trip to the Sports Direct store as I want to pick up a new cap.

It wasn't all art, though. I have been working on things related to PON, trying to come up with a better way to organise my time and prep for next season. Along with the Pride of Nottingham awards, which one of the Facebook group team members convinced me to delay due to the aftermath of losing to the league champions.

Dissapointing result last night particularly as Notts played very well & deserved to win the match in my opinion.

Notts created plenty of chances & they certainly played to a high level especially in the 2nd half.

The way Notts managed to open up the Wimbledon defence on several occasions gives me great hope.

A one goal deficit going into the 2nd leg means that this playoff semi is not over by any means.

Notts have the 2nd best away record in league two this season, so they will be hopeful to be able to turn things around in their favour at plough lane.

I think that a Notts early goal would force Wimbledon to come out & make the running which could give Notts that extra space to exploit upfront.

I'm still going to believe that Notts can make the playoff final, which would be a great achievement.

Hoping that Didzy will be fit for next Saturday. His place in the side will be vital for Notts.

Morning all, I guess we are all a little deflated by yesterdays results, I’ve put my thoughts in the matchday thread.

It’s another fine day here, we’ve got grandchildren until their mum and dad come home later today.

Yesterday young Fred was entertaining us showing us his tricks on the skateboard, then he got his virtual reality goggles out which was hilarious watching him walk around the garden doing things which only he could see.

Another lovely day here. It's going to be warm but it's a bit windy too.

Was out in the garden early mowing the lawn before it got warm. Mrs wanted it done because she wanted the washing out early too.

Nice to get the grass cut & tidied up early. Time to get the dried washing in for the Mrs now.

My new DVD seems to be working well. It is very small & light too. It's about 10 by 8 inches. My old DVD was twice that size & about 10 times the weight. Three year warranty with it too which is useful.
