Notts very unlucky not to get the win tonight. Everything to play for in the 2nd leg.

The Jatta sending off was never a straight red card. We do seem to get some poor refs at the Lane

hate to say it but what's the betting the referee has a nightmare performance this evening!!!!...All the major decisions will go against Notts....we've seen it before several times here this season........

@gtownjohnno how prophetic was that, what are this weeks winning lottery numbers?

We should have won that but we’ve still got a chance next week so let’s be positive.

That was a poor display by the officials. They got the sending off wrong. There was at least one strong shout for a penalty. Jatta's reaction could land him in hot water. Notts played better than expected. Wimbledon defended brilliantly to be fair. They took their chance when they got it. It's not over yet but it's a massive mountain to climb. We can't put the ball in the net and we need at least 2 goals.

I'm still backing Notts to turn this around. Wimbledon were lucky tonight.

Hope Didzy can recover. We know that Jatta won't play. Start Traoré or Morias, & play Jarvis from the start & let's get behind them.

A close match, but one where nothing fell in our favour. First half played out as expected, but second half we created the first big chance and Grant should’ve put us 1-0 up. Can’t help but a feel a tad sorry for him because apart from his awful finishing he put in a pretty good performance.

I think Jatta’s red is harsh, he’s being pulled back which kind of forces him to lunge in. Having now watched it back the challenge looks a lot worse than was, he didn’t make any contact. I feel like I’ve seen worse challenges than that this season not even receive a card. No idea how the appeals work but if they take what happened after into account it won’t get rescinded.

We edged it performance wise and in terms of creating the better chances, probably should’ve been us with the 1-0 win and that’s pretty gutting.

I don’t think Jattas card will be rescinded, he didn’t help himself with his shananigans as he went off, he’s not been in the best of form so I guess it’s a chance for Traore to shine, a bigger worry is McGoldricks injury will he be fit? Maynard said it looked like cramp but he had a ice bag after the match so I think it might be more than cramp, if he’s missing we’ll struggle in the second leg.

If the ref had given a foul when Jatta’s shirt was nearly ripped off his back what happened afterwards wouldn’t have happened and Jatta would be available for next week.

I think the sense of injustice was the reason for the tackle and what followed, the ref was absolutely awful.

Anyone who plays pool will know that when you're in form, everything seems to go your way almost effortlessly and you get the lucky breaks. The opposite is true when you're not in form, which Notts are discovering now.

The second half is as good as I've seen us play this season, it was the performance I was hoping to see against Doncaster. They gave everything and created lots of chances. I'm angry at the officials, not the team. The minor decisions all went the visitors' way.

At first I saw Bass hesitating over the cross for Wimbledon's goal and blamed him, but looking at it again he'd have struggled to reach that cross. However, it was a free header because Platt's shirt was being held and shouldn't have stood. Why did nobody protest? Our team is too nice half the time, Wimbledon had more of an edge to them.

Secondly, the sending off. Jatta lost his head, left the ground and lunged two-footed. He was back on the ground by the time he reached their player, but I can see why it's a straight red. However, the incident wouldn't have happened at all if the ref had blown for a clear foul a few seconds before!

McGoldrick gave me a fright but I think he'll be fit for the second leg. Don't expect the manager to say that in public though, he'll want to keep Wimbledon guessing.

If we're as aggressive and creative in the second leg as we were in the second half, it's all still to play for. It feels a bit 2018 right now,  but none of what happened before really matters - we're one good performance away from Wembley and a shot at promotion.

Just catching up with some of the reaction from yesterday, here’s Mark Stallard’s thoughts:

"It will be a big loss if David McGoldrick is not available next week. Not sure if they will appeal Alassana Jatta's red but he hasn't been in the greatest form.

We are not out of it, we know what we have to do, attack and win the game.

We've shown in the second half that we can get at Wimbledon. They did everything but score, they created three, four and five chances. Owen Goodman was player of the match and rightly so.

The tie is very much alive but it's a mountain to climb for Notts. It's in the balance, it will take a monumental effort but it's doable."

I do agree with Stal and with what he says about Jatta's current form. Hasn’t looked the same player these last few matches, it’s like he’s 5 yards off where he should be every time and he hasn’t won as many of the physical battles which earlier in the season he was doing. He has been great for the majority of the season though and we haven’t had the luxury of being able to rest him at all.

Could you imagine if we have to start with Morias and Traore next Saturday, talk about the chance to become cult heroes.

Unfortunately, he lunged with both feet and with studs showing. A tackle from behind like that warrants an automatic red card. :(

However, he didn't make any contact with the AFC Wimbledon player. He dived, and from what I've seen, he should be up for an Oscar soon. The moment he knew that Jatta was in trouble. He stopped pathetically rolling around and acting like he'd been shot. Naturally, the ref didn't stop Wimbledon players approaching him for a decision from him, causing a bit of a melee which could have escalated matters.

The Wimbledon player should have been sent off for simulation, but again, at the very least a yellow card. I don't know why the referee allowed some of the dangerous challenges from their players. They wiped Jodi Jones out twice, which deserved punishment, and there was a terribly late tackle on Will Jarvis which could have ended his career had it injured him.

I spoke to Jatta after the game and told him these things happen and not to beat himself up. Along with other supportive comments, as he did look very emotional. Unfortunately, having heard Stuart Maynard's response to this incident, I don't think it helps his argument. It was a mistake, no contact was made, but the lung was dangerous. It was in the heat of the moment, Jatta will be back, and this will be just something to learn from.

@Chris

I see that the tackle looks bad when in normal speed, but in slow motion Jatta clearly touches the ball first.

But my contention is that the shirt pulling should have warranted a foul before Jatta tackled the guy

It's a real shame that his season has ended in this way. He's had such a great one for Notts, but his frustration got  the better of him on this occasion.

I hope it isn't the last time we see him in the black and white.

Aye, I know he made contact with the ball.

I do feel for Jatta, he was clearly distraught and emotional. There's always the chance for things like this to happen, and there really wasn't any need for the Dons' player to pretend he had been caught. It must be frustrating for Jatta, as he will miss the away leg, and that for us as a club could prove crucial. He'll come back stronger, and he'll learn from the experience.

I am sure we'll see him again for us next season, the incident might deter some of the clubs watching him from bidding to see how he reacts. Or, he could be sold, but I don't think it's likely, personally.
