Nottingham bus nostalgia

Featured Replies

The old seats weren’t very comfy, with the metal bar digging into your back. Things have really come a long way since then, and kids today don’t realise how lucky they are with Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The windows help with ventilation now, but I remember the ones on older buses weren’t worth opening at all. They either wouldn’t budge or made no difference.

I'm starting to sweat just looking at the old green buses! It makes sense to have the routes in colour with digital signs showing where they’re going. But there’s something really nostalgic about the old ones, where the driver had to turn something by hand to change the sign.

If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to send me a private message (PM). Always happy to help!
Please note: I’ll do my best to help, but some issues may need passing on.

Those were the days with the old green buses. Public transport has come a long way since then, but those buses got us from A to B without needing a taxi. They probably made more people want to learn to drive too. Still, it’s always a bit nostalgic seeing them in photos.

I can still remember the trolly buses. I suppose with the increased traffic they couldn't work well nowadays.

The trolley buses had stunning acceleration from a standing start, a bit like electric cars accelerating away from traffic lights turning green
