Has Luke got a new job?

Featured Replies

I think it’s a real photo, the angle of it is very natural and then has no-one got extra fingers or random zips/buttons on clothing. And it's definitely Luke, otherwise he's got a twin that no-one told us about!

If the photo was recent than it’s pretty certain he's not going to be our head coach. You’d have thought with the pay-off from Swansea, he’d be able to live quite comfortably for a while. Equally some people can’t just sit at home and feel like they need get out and to do something.

Either that or he’s going on holiday and has got so fed up with the queues he’s devised a great plan to march past them!

I don't think it's him, but it's an uncanny resemblance!

His pay-off from Swansea will keep him going for a while (I remember him in an interview saying he had the luxury of choosing his next job rather than being forced to take one). I think he'll be back in the game very soon.

The trouble is you can’t believe anything these days the phot looks genuine but who knows it’s not been created by AI ?

I can’t believe he’s really working at an airport surely there’s a job somewhere in football for him.

Apparently a source close to Luke confirms it's him.

Yes but have they? Who says? Can you trust anything these days? “A source close to Luke” anyone could say that and make up something.

A source close to Fan of Big Tone thinks it could be a load of hogwash. 😂

i can see luke williams looking to find a stable job, he might want to take some time away from management as his time at swansea has dinted his reputation. sometimes managers need to step away, find employment and then have another go. he could very well be a manager or someone higher up than ground staff. he does have the ability to speak and influence people. those are transferable skills.

if it is really him, i have nothing but respect.

Honestly? What's the big deal? People are so obsessed with people's personal lives that they forget that it can be quite intrusive. Obviously, IF this is Luke Williams in the photo. I don't see why his taking a job for an airport would be worthy of a media storm. Within Notts, and perhaps Swansea City, it might have some significance, but people have to work.

There has been speculation that his payoff from Swansea was big, but that wouldn't stop a family man from seeking a job during a period when he wasn't involved in football. There have been countless ex-Premier League stars who have ended up working in more mundane places. I hope Luke and his family get some privacy, and people don't turn this into something it is not. Respect IF he has taken a job whilst he's out of football, but it doesn't mean anything other than he's providing for his family.

Here's another source from Wales online.

Sacked Swansea City manager Luke Williams now working at...

The 44-year-old has been spotted in a somewhat surprising role recently

Wales online have probably just pulled that from Twitter which may or may not be true, local journalists are notoriously lazy when it comes to verifying stories, I know I used to work in a newspaper office.

Luke Williams must have a strong work ethic if he’s taken a job at the airport. Fair play to him for getting stuck in. I do hope he thinks about coming back to football, though. He’s got what it takes to be a good manager.

His move to Swansea City felt rushed, even if it made sense at the time. It reminds me a bit of Ian Burchnall. You learn more by building experience and staying at the level where you're already settled. Some people think it’s like managing on Football Manager, but Williams is handling things well in his own way.

Neither of those pictures look edited or AI-made to me. The one shared by Wales Online clearly shows it’s Luke Williams. I get that bald blokes can sometimes look alike, but that really does look like Williams. You can tell by the way he holds himself.

It’s good to see he’s not just sitting back and relying on his Swansea City payout. Still, I really hope he gets back into coaching rather than settling into a job at the airport. He’s got too much to offer the game.

Wow, looks like i stand corrected then! Good for him.

Since he appears to have gone to the trouble of getting a day job, I don't think it's very likely he'll be unveiled as our new HC in the coming days.

Fair play to Luke Williams. It must be quite humbling to leave a club where you’ve had success and take on the challenge of managing in the Championship. Some managers might rush into new jobs, and we don’t know if Williams is just waiting for the right opportunity to come his way.

I understand why people are talking about it, and I’ve seen a lot of comments on social media too. But I don’t like how the media are poking into someone’s personal life just because he’s taken what is, really, a normal job. The only thing that makes it different is that Luke Williams has worked as a football manager.

If he was a bigger name, I could maybe understand the interest a bit more. But I agree with others who say he deserves his privacy.

I don’t mind what he’s doing now, as long as he’s happy and doing okay. I’ve got no hard feelings towards him for leaving us.

The skinny styled trousers and apple watch pairing gave it away for me! That's the only source I need, no AI is fluking that!

I agree though, just let him get on with his life now, he'll be back in football sooner rather than later I'm sure of it.
