Afternoon all. I looked for this thread but couldn’t find one, so I thought I’d get it started. Hopefully the regular posters don’t mind.

I’ve got the whole week off work. Today I’m out in the garden, and on Wednesday I plan to head into Nottingham to see what the city centre has to offer. I need to pick up some new clothes, so that’ll be part of the day out. With pre-season not too far off now, I’m using the week to get things done that’ll be harder once the football kicks back in.

One of those is catching up with mates at Nando’s. We usually try for Saturdays, but with a free Friday I’ve got the chance to make it happen. It’s been ages.

The weather’s lovely today. There’s a light breeze which keeps things cool. I’m looking forward to reading what others have been up to.

Of course not, thanks for starting it, I normally do but completely forgot the heat is frying my brain.

it’s 33 degrees in the shade here and I’m just lounging about it’s far too hot for me to go outside unless it’s to sit in the shade with a breeze, the house is pretty cool thankfully.

Keep cool everyone if you can and enjoy your week off @JustLikeJuve

I have started preparing for the season, doing various graphics and starting to obtain the badges, which have changed. Also, I have been writing and playing around with a schedule. Cheeky helped me to be organised for the first part of last season, then I fell out of it, but this time around I am sticking to following it. The server is all updated; everything with regard to that is done as part of my weekly and daily maintenance.

My room is quite breezy, but I have noticed the heat has certainly upped since earlier. Between 9-ish and 2-ish it was just really nice, but it's becoming toasty now.

I don't plan on doing anything outside, just resting up, but I would like to get around to seeing my dad. Probably Wednesday, as I will need Jake to agree to go with me.

Hearing at school that Notts had sold Alex Bass made it feel like the day had taken a real turn for the worse. At first, I didn’t think it was true, but it’s happened.

All I can do now is try to focus on who’s coming in. I feel quite unsure about the pre-season at the moment. Hopefully there are no more shocks to dampen the mood further.

Email from travel insurers... You annual policy will expire in July. You are now considered too old for an annual policy with your medical conditions but we welcome to quote on individual trip insurance 😑

finishing up from work, one of my line managers who is a forest fan said to me we have sold our keeper and gloated that we look weak for a team wanting promotion. its been very humid, even inside work it seemed like metal could melt if it got any hotter. the day has not been all that bad, it seems to have flown by but nothing much really to add. it was very routine, and very uneventful except for the news of bass. πŸ˜₯

Oh dear @Piethagoram thats awful, if you are too old there’s no hope for me, although (touch wood) I don’t have any major health issues.

I’ve got annual insurance from Nationwide with their bank account, I pay Β£15 a month for Worldwide Annual Travel, Car breakdown and mobile phone insurance.

Try shopping around.

It was lovely out this morning, bright and just the right kind of cool. Now it’s boiling though. The wind helps a bit, but I feel like I’m melting faster than a snowman in Jamaica. The humidity always seems to hit hard when we get a heatwave here.

Sitting outside in the shade with some music on and a cold beer in hand doesn’t sound like a bad plan at all. It’s a good way to escape the heat indoors. When the house feels like a slow cooker, it makes sense to find some fresh air and take it easy somewhere cooler.

We have both stayed in today. It was just too hot outside. I've watered some of the plants this evening that were struggling.

I've been watching a bit of Wimbledon today. It's been a fairly good day for the Brits in round one

The temperature in our living room at this moment is 81.4 Deg F & that's the warmest we've known it at this time of night here. It's going to be very warm tonightπŸ₯΅

Phew that was a sticky night, we had the fan going all night but it’s still 26 degrees in our bedroom. Living in a bungalow we can’t have our bedroom window open, otherwise the cat jumps in and walks all over us as we sleep and we’re likely to be wakened by a wet nose and purring. She can even jump up to the little top opening window.

It’s supposed to be a bit cooler today which is a blessing, have a great day everyone.

In struggling with the heat too - yesterday it was 35, today it'll be 36 and tomorrow it'll be 38. It's still 26 or 27 outside when I go to bed. We've got shutters outside our windows, so that helps keep the heat off a bit, but the evenings are still uncomfortable. Luckily it'll be cooler from Thursday onwards (cooler being the high 20s).

I hate these conditions. It's OK when you're on holiday with a pool and an air conditioned room, but it's crap if you actually have to do stuff. I much prefer autumn.

Wow, it was a very warm night. Ceiling fan on & two table fans on outside the bedroom door.

Woke up to the news that Man City were knocked out of the Team World Cup by Al Hilal, a Saudi Arabian side 3:4 after extra time. Oh dear will City ever live it down?

Will be watching some of the Brits at Wimbledon today on the TV. It's great that there is a choice of multiple games on the BBC I player.

Heatwaves are the only time of year when footballers actually queue up for ice baths. Usually, it's all moaning and waddling, but in this heat, they dive in like penguins at a pool party. Getting out of bed this morning felt like peeling myself off Velcro. My bedsheets had wrapped around me tighter than a clingy ex. unsure

I felt like a turtle trying to stand upright on all fours, except, crucial detail, I've only got two legs and zero shell protection. πŸ™ƒ

You had bed sheets? I slept with no bed sheets in the altogether and I was still red hot. Not a pretty sight but definitely necessary.

Good evening everyone. It's been a fresher day here & the oppressive heat outside as gone, but it is still very warm inside the house. All fans at full blast haven't made much of an impression.

It's still 78 deg F right now in the living room & bedroom. It's actually hotter inside to night than it was last night. That's what a brick wall does for you. It retains the heat for a few days after the hot weather has gone.

There was a big storm brewing around 5pm this afternoon but it just missed us with just a few drops. Somewhere else must have got a downpour. Would have loved for it to be here.

Watched some more Tennis today on the TV. Two Brits won today.

Morning all, still no rain here but it’s a lot cooler outside at 17 degrees but still 25 in our bedroom. We might be able to go for a walk without being lathered in sweat today.

I hope everyone is in fine fettle, let us know what’s happening in your life.

Lovely fresh breeze this morning, a little bit of rain helping keep the heat at bay. Looking out into the beautiful countryside and listening to nature as it marks the beginning of another cherished day in Nottinghamshire. A light breeze is meandering through the leaves sounding like they are whispering to one and all. How fortunate are we being able to witness this underestimated beauty each and every day. Gives the positive and helps us appreciate what we have. Be thoughtful, kind and considerate as unfortunately it doesn't last long.

I’ll certainly do my best. πŸ‘

Good evening everyone. It's another warm night here inside the house. It's fresh outside but inside it's 76.7 at 9:30pm.. All the fans are blazing away.

Three wins for the Brits. The Ladies at Wimbledon today in the 2nd round Sonney Kartal & Emma Raducanu. Cameron Norrie wins in the men's 2nd round.

Guess where I have been this morning?

THROUGH OUR EYES ONLY.

Oh! What a lovely big open space,
One where we can run round at a pace.

Released, all at once freedom calls,
The only boundaries are surrounding walls.

Forwards and backwards, zig zag to and fro,
Not knowing really where we want to go.

Sniffing the crisp fresh morning air,
Different scents appearing from we know not where.

Cocking a leg, our scent to leave,
Side to side and up and down we weave.

We will only deposit on OUR choice of grass,
The right shade, right length that's all we ask.

All finished and happy now the time is right,
Run like the wind with all your might.

Chasing each other all over the place,
Tumbling, rolling, in each others face.

"Got you" tagged, now your it,
Away i race with a hop and a skip.

Once you're caught we'll do it again,
My turn on now with no refrain.

"Marty, Scooby" we hear our name,
"Time to go home" what a shame.

Grateful both of time spent with dad,
Cos after all he's not a bad lad.
