Looks like Didzy is already doing what Didzy does best, scoring quality goals.

It’s a real shame that Didzy won’t be with us next season, every time we see he’s scored another worldy for Barnsley it’ll be like a dagger to the heart, especially as he’s not just an ex player he’s one of our own, he’ll always hold a special place in Notts fans hearts.

David McGoldrick finished well, even though he looked slow and heavy-footed before he struck the ball. He timed it just right in the end. Not being biased, but Vimal Yoganathan’s goal was much better. It showed real skill and reminded me of what Didzy is capable of when he’s sharp.

That said, people do tend to go overboard when former players score. There's often more excitement than the goal itself deserves.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

It’s good to see David McGoldrick giving Barnsley fans a taste of what they have in store for the season. He should score a fair few goals, but it’s too early to say how good they will be, just from goals in pre-season.

I wish Didzy and his new club all the best. I hope their fans appreciate him as much as ours did.

Maybe if the Club had Offered Didzy a Decent Wage, instead of Cutting a Huge chunk out of his Money ( has it's been Rumoured) perhaps he'd have been hitting the Back of the Net for Notts.

The post match interview of David McGoldrick is very interesting to hear especially for us Notts fans. He has some very interesting things to say.

Didzy is doing really well he’s definitely proving that he was worth keeping for another season, I’m not sure how far apart his aspirations and the clubs contract offer was but I do wish the club had strived a little harder to keep him.

it does not matter at this stage, but those who say the club should have stumped up what he wanted. didzy should not have said he wanted to retire here, that he did not want to be the clubs highest earner. i am sure the club offered him what they felt they could afford.

personally, i think he did not have faith in us getting promotion this season and that could be part of why he moved on.

i am glad hes doing well for barnsley.

I really wish Didzy would stop rubbing it in by scoring great goals and showing what a huge mistake it was to let him go.

He’ll keep scoring while he can still run and perform well enough. But once his legs go, and they will, he’ll realise that age catches up with all of us. You can’t rely on willpower alone to keep going.

He’s a good player, and I’m glad he’s doing well at Barnsley. I did wish he was still here, but he’s not, so that’s the end of that discussion.

The only thing I want to say is, if David McGoldrick is taking shots at Notts with comments about the game being simple, or saying things about stats and being too focused on data, it doesn’t look great. Even if I agree with him that football is simple at heart, it’s not a good look to say those things publicly.

He seems to have aged quickly at Barnsley too. Does anyone else think that? His face makes him look a few years older than he actually is.
