I am sorry about this, but I'm working on upgrading one of the old resources, and it looks like I'm running into some glitches. This might happen a bit here and there, but I’ll do my best to keep the live site running smoothly and avoid any hiccups.

Thanks for your understanding!

The bookmark app is back, so members can save content, comments and topics to read later. The link to your bookmarks isn’t very user-friendly yet, but Chris is talking to the developer about it. You can find your saved links under your user menu at the top of the site, where your display picture appears.

When you view any content, you’ll see a bookmark button. Click it to save the link for the future.

If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to send me a private message (PM). Always happy to help!
Please note: I’ll do my best to help, but some issues may need passing on.

I panic every time this happens and have flash backs to the time when the site was hacked by those sad people from Ukraine, I know how much angst and hard work it caused @Chris and how much I missed the site in the days it was down.

Thanks for letting us know gaffer, I’ll rest easy if I see the error again.

I do need to figure out how to set the server up with the site which would allow me to explain what is going on, but as a single person maintaining things, I have to choose how best to spend my time. If setting up the means for it to be detected automatically, it would make it easier for me to pop a short update as to what's happening. Then continue to fix things, but there's no way I would make it publicly known on social media.

Not because I don't value updating, but because it poses a big security concern.

I am and have always believed transparacy and accountability are important values. Most might not care for the updates I provide, but it's there for those who do and it's their for those who might.

Recently, a server update caused some issues for the site.

You might have noticed last Thursday we had some issues with errors; this is because Redis (a cache system) failed, and there were a number of issues preventing me from being able to fix it. Temporarily, I switched to a file-based cache while I investigated the issue.

Yesterday, a friend took the time to look into this issue with me, and he fixed the issue caused by the server's packet updates.

I didn't mention anything until now, as I wanted to wait for it to be confirmed as fixed, and usually giving it several hours will allow you to see everything is playing nicely again. So, Redis is now enabled, and the performance should be back to normal.

Have fun posting and making content! 😁
