A welcome win for Notts tonight against Shrewsbury. The best performance of the season by far, & some good individual performances to go with it.

There are a few candidates for the Man of the Match tonight. I have included the first eleven & two subs for your choice. Those players are,

Roos, McDonald, Bedeau, Aljofree, Jones, Iorpenda, Norburn, Palmer, Dennis, Tsaroula, Cotter, Gordon, Grant

I think the sponsor got it right - Nick Tsaroulla.

He was a real thorn in their side, it's great to have him back.

Word for Aljofree, great way to rebound after being taken off at Barrow. He would be my 2nd choice

The best team performance of the season

My shortlist for Man of the Match are, Nick Tsaroulla, Matt Dennis, Mat Palmer Tom Iorpenda & Sonny Aljofree

I thought that Tom Iorpenda was immense in midfield, but I'm going for Nick Tsaroulla because I think he inspired the team with his work on the left hand side for Notts tonight & he scored a good goal too

Best performance by a mile this season. You could actually see the confidence improve the longer the game went on. Finally get a well earned boost. Long may it continue.

Wont single out a player of the match as the whole team did well.

Tsaroulla was my MOTM - comfortable in possession, quick feet, deft touches, drives forward, lovely goal.

I’m not Palmer’s greatest fan but I thought he was excellent tonight. Covered the ground well, got stuck in, rarely gave the ball away & kept things ticking over. Iorpenda was busy, showed some good touches but was, occasionally, clumsy and lost possession. Generally, a decent display from him tho’.

The team looked balanced, had shape and played with conviction and determination. There were plenty of problems too but Shrewsbury were poor and offered little threat.

Overall, promising display, we need to keep improving but there were some optimistic signs emerging - good stuff.

For me it was between Tsaroulla and Jones both had great games but Jones had a hand in three of the goals if I remember right so he gets my vote.

I agree Tsaroulla. I noticed just before he scored, he was calling for the ball to be passed to him. I think that shows his confidence to score in those positions.

I've done my homework, and I agree that Nick Tsaroulla was by far the best player on the pitch. I think he played a positive role in bringing the best out of Notts, but I also appreciated Matt Palmer, Sonny Aljofree, and Barry Cotter.

Definitely not Roos again!!!!

He dives for the ball like he's Superman, if he had springs in his boots he might have saved the Shrewsbury goal.

I voted for Nick Tsaroulla. I always make sure to think about my choice and vote before reading what others have said. It speaks volumes that he’s picked up so many votes and positive comments. It also shows he’s put in the work during his time out, keeping fit and staying ready to step back in.

Tsaroulla was sharp, tidy on the ball and looked dangerous going forward. Norburn looked a lot better too, I was a tad worried after his early yellow but he hassled and harried well without picking up a second booking. McDonald was solid at the back, didn’t really put a foot wrong for me. Iorpenda just didn’t stop running, I think he’s better touch deeper when he can make runs but I really him. And nor did Dennis to be fair and he reacted quick to get his goal.

Nick Tsaroulla looks like he could really make an impact now that Martin Paterson is in charge. He’s already showing more energy, and in his first game back in the starting line-up, he’s managed to score.

That’s something he found difficult under Stuart Maynard, so it’s good to see him getting off the mark. Hopefully he can keep it up and add a few more goals as the season goes on.

For me, he was the standout player in that match. I’d give him Man of the Match without hesitation.

Well, it wasn't like the Barrow game, where Matt Palmer was the main candidate amongst a squad of individually weak performances. It was much better than that, which goes to show just how much Nick Tsaroulla deserves the vote from us all.

I am glad he's back and I hope he can win many more over the course of this season. He did win a few last season off the top of my head.

Nick Tsaroulla was easily the best player on the pitch. Loads of Shrewsbury fans were saying the same on the way home. It’s a real shame we didn’t snap him up when he left Crawley. He’s just the sort of wide player we need, reads the game well and doesn’t take silly risks with the ball.

come on, lets beat 60 votes if we can. if you are reading and dont have an account on pon, just register and vote. you get bonus points for posting an introduction but you can keep your vote private.

nick tsaroulla earned mine and i think its going to be impossible to beat him.

It’s brilliant to see so many fans vote for Nick’s performance. It shows how much his return means to the team and the supporters. We’re at a point where a bit of spark can make all the difference. Nick’s energy and sharpness could be just what we need to lift the level on the pitch.
