He likely doesn’t match the club’s stats and data model, which might explain why he wasn’t considered. Still, he’s the sort of player who brings a winning mindset, and that’s hard to measure with numbers alone. He could’ve made a real difference in our push to get back to League One. Having someone with his experience and attitude might have given us that extra edge.

I think the club has a policy when it comes to recruitment that they generally avoid signing players over 30, nevertheless, I thought his signing for Wrexham was a masterstroke for them, and he became one of their most important players. They've got such a strong personality, a great knack for scoring, and in the end, they're all about winning.

Ollie Palmer would have been a good signing for us in my eyes, many "good" players have proved that they can continue well into their 30s, and I think Ollie will be a strong signing for Swindon Town.

A field where dreams become reality.

More Importantly Do Notts have the Money to attract a Player of Ollie Palmer's Experience? I still think that May be the Problem. Money Spent on the Club's Infrastructure has left the Playing Budget Woefully Short, What other excuse could there be? The idea of he doesn't fit into Notts System or he's over a certain age is a poor excuse, a player of Palmer's Capabilities and Goal Scoring Abilities would have been a God Send for Notts and I'm sure he would have been able to Adapt the Notts Model and Score Goals.

I don’t really care, him and Paul Mullin could be ***ts. Sorry, I’ll keep it clean. It will be interesting to see how he does with Swindon, but if we had the wages he would want, I would rather they spent it on someone coming through personally.

I’d say it’s more about his wages than his age. He might be seen as too expensive for us. It’s one of those things where we see other teams doing well after taking a chance on a certain player. They go for it, and sometimes it pays off.

Meanwhile, we try to be clever with who we offer bigger wages to. Players like David McGoldrick are seen as worth it, while others aren’t. Then when we are trying to save money, we won't renew their deal with an amount that suites both parties. With Didzy, it was almost like here you go, that's our offer, take it or leave it.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Ollie Palmer or Paul Mullin. I don't care where players come from. They are proven goalscorers who I would welcome if Notts could afford them. But unfortunately at this moment, Notts clearly can't or won't.

We had a ready made proven goalscorer in David McGoldrick at the club, who hinted & hinted that he wanted to stay but Notts just let him go. For me, letting him go defied all logic after spending a considerable amount of money on a Hybrid, Pitch.

Proud to be a supporter for 58 years & counting of the oldest professional football club in the World. COYP

I doubt he'd have cost more than McGoldrick. He wasn't exactly in keeping with the model either, but we signed him when we had the chance.

Wild speculation mode on: how does anyone know we weren't in for Palmer? Perhaps Jatta had a move lined up that was dependent on us signing Palmer? It's a bit of a coincidence that Jatta is suddenly available for selection again the moment Palmer signs elsewhere, but I'm probably reading too much into it.
