Good morning it’s a lovely bright sunny morning to start the week but a tad chilly.

We had a lovely afternoon at our sons house he cooked a lovely Sunday lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire pud, it was a two mile walk there but we were that podged from our dinner we caught the bus back. 😂

Today will be a day of rest it’s been a busy weekend.

What’s everyone else up to?

Yes it a lovey morning & afternoon here too @Fan of Big Tone

Was out early in the garden tidying up & deflowering to keep the flowers going for at least another week.

De-appled the apple trees. It's been a poor year for our apple trees. The apples didn't grow very well this year. Also the lawn was cut & the garden furniture put away in the shed. Garden looks nice and tidy.

I’ve not had much time for the site because of school. I’m hoping to join in more this week, but it depends on homework and other stuff I can’t control. Saturday’s win was great. It’s been ages since I saw us score four goals in one match. If the weather’s nice, I might see if The Nest is showing the Crewe game. I’ll try to get a relative to take me so I can watch it.

i am back on the training system, so i have been focusing on that a lot lately. i have another week where i have to pass various training courses, safety and best practices is always a piece of cake. i have much more enjoyed the showery days compared to those that the rain constantly comes. tomorrow i am on until 6pm, and i start from 8:30am. its going to be a long day.

hope everyone is feeling well and are enjoying what ever activities you are all upto.

Just about the main thing I'm doing in my life right now is trying to lose weight.

This time last year I lost 19kg in 3 months. I put half of that back on. I'm trying to pull off the same trick again. I've lost about 8kg in 6weeks. There's no point pussyfooting around with 'diets', you basically have to stop eating. I'm determined to do this the traditional way rather than injections, pills or surgery. Anyone else have any experience with trying to lose a lot of weight?

It was a routine day in the office with very little going on. I spent most of it handling documents and answering calls, just the usual bits. Even the monthly meeting passed without anything worth noting, but I won’t grumble. Quiet days like this don’t come around too often.

The weather’s turned a bit gloomy. It’s darker than usual, slightly murky outside with the odd bit of rain here and there. Nothing heavy, just enough to notice.

I managed to find a bit of time to post two short guides. One explains how to use the content editor, and the other shows how to make use of the follow function. I hope they’re useful to the community, as there are plenty of great features on PON that deserve a bit more attention.

At the moment, I’m looking at tidying up some of the pinned content. I’m also thinking about what I can work on next to keep things ticking along.

If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to send me a private message (PM). Always happy to help!
Please note: I’ll do my best to help, but some issues may need passing on.

Mrs R has been busy today changing our house summer theme into an Autumn theme. We deck our living room and bedroom themes by the seasons & she has a Christmas theme too.

The autumn theme includes a small Halloween theme too with immitation autumn leaves around both rooms. The pillow cases have a autumn theme too. It's something that we always look forward to when the seasons change.

I recently updated and improved the wallpaper system template. I wish to make further changes and improvements, but will see about that as it's not a major thing.

Now that I feel better, I need to jump back into the content.

At the weekend, I will be watching Crewe with my friends, and I am looking forward to it. It will be somewhat different, but so far it's been good to attend the games. I won't be at Crewe itself, however, on Saturday.

Yes, but I put it back on and find it hard to consistently keep it off. I have medication which has a side effect of weight gain, and walking can be a bit tricky, so I try to do exercises daily, but ones that won't tire me out or cause further pain.

We had a discussion a while ago about weight loss; a couple of other members chipped in, and I think @Fozzy had lost a fair amount.

I really need to find a way that works consistently and to avoid putting it back on.

We had a tradesman come round yesterday to fix new hinges on our UPVC door, one hinge had broken and another was looking decidedly dodgy, we initially had a quote for a new door and it would have been £1,500!

We contacted a local company about changing the hinges and what a refreshing change for a tradesman to promptly answer our query quickly come to quote and then do the job very professionally, to say we were pleased is an understatement. He couldn’t source the old hinges but put lovely new hinges on for £198. A lot cheaper than a new door, if anyone wants any UPVC maintenance doing e.g. doors, windows etc. then I can recommend https://www.candjupvcmaintenance.co.uk

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION TO THIS COMPANY WHATSOEVER, I’M JUST A SATISFIED CUSTOMER.

That's a tough hand @Chris, wish you well with all your efforts.

No, I've never really cracked the trick of keeping the lost weight from coming back any great length of time. I want to tackle that, but will concentrate on the first part of the job for now, losing it in the first place. I had a mini night out last night - 3 pints and a few nuts, even that can set you back when you want to lose over a kg a week.

Happy to see you spread some awareness to someone who applies their trade well. 👍🏻

Remember the days when you could indulge in anything you wanted without worrying about gaining weight?

I have cut out a lot of sugar since being told I am pre-diabetic, I don't drink alchol very often and I try to drink as much water as possible. Nestle Pure Life has a nice taste as far as water comes, but I am determined to follow your steps and lose weight.

Hopefully, you enjoyed your mini night out and find a way to counter it.

I did, I lost 3 and a half stone in total but looked a bit gaunt so I put half a stone back on and feel much better for it. The secret to not piling it back on is unfortunately a permanent change to a healthier lifestyle. Gone are the takeaways (except very occasionally) and processed foods. We now cook nearly everything from scratch so we know what we’re eating and I make sure I exercise regularly. I can at least still enjoy a sweet treat once a week but no longer every day.

That’s absolutely right @Fozzy it involves a whole change of mindset which is really hard to do.

A friend of mine is losing weight by doing a NHS diet plan which involves eating nothing but special weight loss milk shakes four times a day, for a number of weeks before slowly introducing solid food. He’s lost five and a half stone so far in two months, he’s also doing a walking challenge. I hope he manages to keep the weight off he looks amazing.

I wonder how many people who are having these weight loss injections will pile weight back on when they stop.

Good morning all, it’s a cloudy start but so far it’s dry.

No park run for me today I’ve got a painful hip which has been troubling me for a few days so I don’t want exacerbate it by running.

This afternoon we are going to Nottingham to watch a play with son and family it’s called “Dear England” about the England football team under manager Gareth Southgate, it’s my birthday present from June. We have a table booked at an Indian Restaurant afterwards so it should be a good day.

Yes, I just about remember them! Actually I'm grateful I had a couple of decades at a healthy weight

I made my weekly target but face a tough week ahead....I'll try not to have a mini-night out this week. Best wishes and good luck to all who are fighting the same fight.

I'm not sure that's possible BT, can you really lose 77pounds or 35kgs in 2 months?

@theAnticlough he started losing weight in the middle of May and in 5 weeks lost two and a half stone and because he’d demonstrated he could lose weight by himself the doctor put him on the NHS diet plan in July and by just having four of the special milk shakes a day he’s lost another 3 stone so five and a half in total since May, so your right it’s actually been four months.

Good morning, it’s a bit damp here after overnight rain.

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday watching the play Dear England, it was very good all about Gareth Southgate’s reign as England football manager but goodness me there was a lot of swearing, I guess it was true to life within football but we felt a bit uncomfortable. Our grandchildren are teenagers now and have heard all those words but I felt sorry for anyone taking young children. However it was a good play.

Afterwards we went to an Indian Restaurant Tamatanga which was very busy but the food was good. We haven’t been to Nottingham City centre for ages and certainly not at night, I wouldn’t necessarily want to go again it was so busy with mainly youngsters having a night out, not really our scene these days, we were glad to get home to the sanctuary of our quiet bungalow.

Having been out all day I missed all the football news, shame Notts couldn’t hold on to a point at least.
