What would your starting line-up be? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

.

MP's headaches will be 1 or 2 up front and who to pick for the problem No.10 position, which nobody can claim a shirt like Didzy and Crowley did.

IMO we're desperate to see if Dennis can play that role while still providing his goal threat and output. Seems like Luker might be injured, in which case go Dennis and Hall behind Jatta and see how that works.

I wrote at the beginning of the season that Iorpenda is dangerous player for us - one that looks good, offers height, strength, athleticism but just won't make the key contributions for goals and assists you have to insist on from your No.10 if you want to challenge for promotion. I don't think he's ready and we don't owe Huddersfield anything to develop their player at the expense of our promotion challenge.

Looking forward to this one. It's going to be a great atmosphere on Saturday with Oldham bringing 2000 fans to the match. Should be the best attendance of the season so far.

Several players staked a strong claim for a place in the matchday squad with their performances against Barnsley. It will certainly give Martin Paterson plenty of selection headaches for the match.

Martin did intimate during the fans forum that he prefers to go with one striker upfront rather than the two. So who will lead the attack on Saturday? My guess would be Jatta up front & that would leave Dennis either behind him or on the bench.

I do hope that Jarvis has done enough get a spot on the bench on Saturday along with Ness, who impressed on his return to the defence. If Luker is fit I expect him & Hall to either start or sit on the bench.

The match against Barnsley told me that the squad has a whole has improved from last season because there is now strength in depth that we didn't have previously under Maynard.

Oldham will be no pushovers & it will be difficult against a side that will have a large support, but the way Notts are now playing I believe Notts can get the win.

Getting back to winning ways and keeping our strong home form is just what we need from the lads. It’s important to build confidence and keep the momentum going. The Crewe result was a setback, but there’s no need to panic or feel worried. These things happen, and it’s part of the journey. We’ve still been showing signs of progress.

Once everything clicks into place, I believe we’ll find that consistency we’ve been looking for. That’s what will help us climb the table and really push on. It starts with tomorrow’s match. Oldham are a solid side, but if our players work hard and focus on creating chances, there’s every chance we’ll get a good result.

Oldham have picked up some decent results on their travels. They don't score many goals but don't concede many either. It's great to see Oldham back in League Two. The last time we played them was in 2019. The last time we beat them was 2013.

I suspect this might be a more difficult game than people expect. I'd be happy with a 1-0 win. Notts need to go a run of games unbeaten. Consistency is key in League 2.

I think this one is going to be a test. They are bringing 2000 fans. If they score early the momentum could swing their way and the noise from their fans could make the difference. If we can start well ourselves and silence their fans it could be a different outcome. We've done against the likes of Bradford with big support, we have to do it again.

Incidentally today will be Matt Palmer's 137th appearance for Notts, the most games he will have played for any Club, beating the 136 appearances he made for Burton Albion.

A cautious team selection...

This confirms that Dennis, our top scorer, is dropped from the starting XI. Maybe the penalty he gave away last Saturday didn't do him any favours.

I thought Jarvis had earned himself a seat on the bench at least. Iorpenda has played 10 games without a goal. I hope he proves me wrong but I'm wondering how many more games before MP reluctantly has to say goodbye to his size and physicality because the production and the match results are not there. Hoping for egg on face at 5pm :)

Update

FULL TIME.

Nice game, so open. There really should've been more goals in the 2nd half.

Some excellent individual performances today - RodMac, Bedeau, Robbo, Jatta and off the bench Bennetts and Kouhyah. A long time to wait til the next one now.

That’s a great win, it looks like Notts are starting to click, the team are playing attractive attacking football, long may it last. Let’s get moving up that table. COME ON YOU PIES!

League 2 Table. Positions 1 to 17.

Notts just one point off the playoffs in 9th place.
