Luke Williams for Peterborough? ...edit...confirmed!

Featured Replies

I never believe the click bait stories till they actually happen. If it is true, & that's a big if, it will be nice to see Luke back in football management, but it does beg the question, why take a job where a club is rock bottom in League 1, when he could have easily taken a job with a leading league 2 club?

If he waits for a few weeks Bristol Rovers might be looking for a new manager, that’s just over the border for him.

I think it’s mad that no football academy or head-coach has been on the phone to get him because he’d be absolutely perfect for that. He’s already said he’s not that fussed if he’s a head-coach or part of a coaching team in his next role. And given how he’s switched career entirely he’s got no ego or sense of entitlement, he strikes me as being a really good team player as well as someone who can lead.

I wish him well, but it's going to be a hard task for him to save Peterborough. Personally I think he's made a mistake but time will tell.

He can't repeat what he did for us - we had a winning squad assembled and he had pre-season to install his system of play.

No time for that arriving bottom of the league in November. He'll have to go about it differently

It's an appointment that kind of suggests 'we're going down, but we want you to take us back up next year', but they're only 2 wins off safety with 32 matches to go. The club will want to stay up and the fans will be against him if they don't. I tend to agree with @Robbie
